How about that receipt for my donut?

2010-07-27 12:32:35 AM
Safe way isn't safe?

2010-07-27 12:32:38 AM
Theres a reason why McDonalds coffee is cheaper than Starbucks... they cut corners.

I'll stick with Starbucks. I know its more expensive but at least I'm getting good coffee and service.

2010-07-27 12:33:51 AM
Well, aren't I lucky I don't dispose of my receipts by eating them.
You poor saps, stop eating receipt paper!

FTFA: BPA, a plastic hardener and synthetic estrogen

Be back in a few days. Going to go rub this stuff on my wife's breasts all night.

FTFA: linked by researchers to a long list of serious health problems

Hmm, I guess she won't be back in a few days, though.

/That's how science works, right? Just put it right on 'em?
//BPAon! APPLY DIRECTLY TO BOOBIES.

Well that explains why my receipts have the Boobies.

2010-07-27 12:37:10 AM
Sweet Jesus, the article is harder to read than most Farker posts (and that's saying something). If I got it right, the receipts have lots more of some bad stuff, but noone knows if that bad stuff gets into anyone (who doesn't immediately eat the receipt).

Nice journ0 - not!!

I went past a Starbucks and there are STILL people outside, messing around with iGadgets of one sort or another.

There's a depression on, you idiots.

Lets hope this sort of news prompts more companies to switch to safer reciept paper. Then again, the non BPA paper will probably have another chemical to slowly kill us that won't be discoverd for another 20 years.

CVS tried to kill a certain TFette a couple weeks ago. I haven't seen her post since then, now that I think about it.

How dare they not abide by the depression curfew!
They should be at home enjoying their iGadgets, not flaunting them in front of the rest of us.

So, as far as endocrine disruptions, where is BPA on the Busey Scale?

I DEMAND these receipts notify you of their potential BPA ppb, just like cell phones and EM radiation.

Interesting how plebeian places like KFC, McDonalds and Walmart are not safe, but patrician Target and Starbucks are safe. I wonder if these people checked out FedEx and UPS.

Sounds like they are biased.

I wouldn't recommend newspaper or phonebook paper for rolling cigarettes either. Best to go buy more proper papers if your tobacco supply exceeds your paper supply.

Look, I'm sorry things suck for you, I really am. But frankly, he's saying that not every person in the US is in the same boat. That's it. He's not insulting people who have money problems, he's not saying you deserve it. He's just saying that he's got enough money. Being angry at other people for not struggling is pointless and frankly a little childish.

Why do you feel the need to insult people just because they don't have the same financial situation?

In Indiana where I have to show I.D. for any alcohol purchase, even though I'm 63, I have decided to fight back and and ask for the BPA content of their reciepts.

/that will teach them
//wife and I decided probably not good that I have been eating reciepts

CVS is truly a putrid corporation, to both its highly-fleeced "patients" and slave workforce. Their workers treat customers like crap cause CVS treats its employees like crap.

I spend a fair amount of my time pecking away on my laptop in coffee shops drinking $5 cups of SomethingFancySounding, but there's value in the sludge that truck stops serve and have the nerve to call "coffee".

A lot caffeine packed in that...whatever, and there's the extra bonus of using what left over in your mug to help resurface your driveway after.

In a college town, in the South? Yes, it is patrician.

Anywhere else, it is nothing special.

The chemicals in their reciepts would be the least of my worries.
