I love the Fringe alternate universe. I would watch an entire episode of Fringe that centered around of the the characters watching an episode of The West Wing: Season 11.

As long as there is plenty of redhead Dunham, I'll be glued to the screen.

I was sort of disappointed that he didn't find a copy of Mighty Ducks in the alternate universe with Charlie Sheen as the coach.

Is this show any good?

After Arrested Development Firefly and Futurama, I just don't watch Fox shows as a rule so I don't get attached.

It's good. Much better than I expected from the first few episodes.

The first two seasons had a tendency to get bogged down with monster-of-the-week episodes, which are hit or miss. But when they deal with the over-arcing storyline of the series, which the article claims the 3rd season will focus more on, I think it's the best sci-fi / X-Files type show on the air.

Nobody watches it, so I would expect this season (3rd) to be the last.

Indubitably. Such an improvement compared to the boring-as-dirt character she was playing the first season.

I watched it as a marathon just as season 2 was wrapping up. The first 15 or so episodes of season 1 just aren't worth watching in my opinion. You'd be better off just reading the synopsis for those somewhere and picking up the show from there. Season 2 though, soooooo good.

You can tell they were getting a lot of the same complaints from people about what they didn't like about the show and they adjusted course quickly and surprisingly effectively about mid way through season 1.

You might be right =0(
Sadly Season one averaged 9.9 million viewers, and season 2 averaged 7.3, "Bones" hovers around 8 and 9 million each season..."House" is around 11 and 12 Million. J.J. Abrams has got to redeem his self.

I might have to catch back up then. I stopped watching early in season where they had some guy who knocked up a hooker. She carried the baby to term in about 2 hours and the baby grew into an old man in a matter of minutes.

'Fringe' science is one thing, conservation of mass is another.

That was episode 2 of Season 1, which means your only 41 episodes Behind

Fringe had a season last season?

2010-07-25 07:41:47 PM
I stopped watching it a few episodes in when I realized that the only reason I was watching was John Noble. Did it get better finally?

2010-07-25 08:08:07 PM
It has really ramped up the final few episodes, but I wouldn't mind the stand-alone ep where Dr Bishop talks about mind-altering drugs and bodily functions.

2010-07-25 08:54:20 PM
I think "In Which we Meet Mr. Jones"(episode 1.7) is where it starts building steam, and Peter does grow out of his smartassery eventually(after Walter gives him a good scalding in the lab).

Snapper Carr: I stopped watching it a few episodes in when I realized that the only reason I was watching was John Noble. Did it get better finally?

Yes.

I watched for three episodes when it first came on. It was shiat. Then a year later people kept talking about it, said it got better and was actually pretty awesome, so I gave it another shot.

And it did get better. Sometimes it's a bit too blatant of an X-Files knockoff, but it has started to become more serialized... and you get the idea the the writers are approaching the series with a mythology in mind, so that it won't be quite the clusterfark x-files ended up as in the last few years.

2010-07-25 09:15:52 PM
The first half of the first season was pretty drawn out, but shiat, it went out on a great high note...and then the second season completely delivered and put the show on a whole new level. You've just got to get through that first half of the first year.

I don't know how you are posting from your universe, but in this universe Fringe definitely doesn't suck. It's strange that you seem to suck in all universes.

Yeah, hes still Pacey, after all these years, cant even remember his characters name...

I think it would be awesome if the Fringe group were face with an old FBI unsolved/unexplained case, and ended up tracking down Fox Mulder to get his first-hand account (and expert assistance) in dealing with this X-file.

Or, better yet, have them go to the other universe and discover that alt-Mulder & alt-Scully still work for the FBI, and are ranked near the top.

For me, that was actually the first time I didn't think of him as Dawson. Love that movie, but I have a thing for Shannyn Sossamon (and Jessica Biel, for that matter), so maybe my judgment is clouded.

I have an idea for a Season 3 plot. Our universe Dunham meets Alt-universe Dunham. And they they make love. Or masturbate - not sure what you'd call it. Anyway, that for a whole season = win.

/ Seriously .... best part about the alt-universe is that Alt-Dunham showed me that Anna Torv actually CAN act, and, in fact, she's pretty good. Turns out wooden, emotionless Olivia Dunham IS an act, and redhead alt-Dunham lets her show she actually has a personality and it's quite freaking hot.

// Best show on (network) TV right now. Bar none.

Really. Pacey wakes up next to Joey, who has been having a farked-up dream of her own about having Tom Cruise's kids.
