AI'm sure both fans were horrorstricken as they watched.

Well done, subby. I saw them last week in Norfolk, and it was a great show. Corgan seems to be taking himself less seriously now and is having some fun again. Let's hope his Flash Forward's stop here.

Maybe the baldness is spreading to his brain.

D minor is the saddest of all keys, I find.

I never realized how big a Rush fan Billy Corgan was until I watched Beyond The Lighted Stage. He was in that documentary a LOT.

Homer Simpson, smiling politely.

Yup, that headline is full of SP references. Yup.

The Smashing Pumpkins for me ceased to exist when James Iha and D'arcy Wretzky left the band. Now I just consider it "Billy Corgan and his backup band".

Probably just got too hot. It happens. I'm glad he's alright.

I never heard about the Madina Lake guy. That sucks. Try to break up a fight and land yourself in critical condition. Don't like the band, but that's horrible.

Billy Corgan died in 2000. I don't know who this guy pretending to be the Zero persona from the mid '90s is.

I heard that after the show they took him to the hospital and pumped a quart of goat semen from his stomach.

This.

The headline could have been salvaged by only using the first sentence, but hey, whatever.

Billy Corgan is dead to me.

That's what it's always been, basically. Billy pretty much always did everything except the drums. Even without Chamberlin, it was still the Pumpkins.

/Huge fan, but disappointed in recent output.
//Fave album is Adore followed by Siamese Dream.

Is it OK for me to not like Billy Corgan, or will some rabid fan attack me for always saying bad things about him? Because I really don't like him. He whines too much.

Smashing Pumpkins were OK at first, but there were never as good as Medicine, Lush, or a thousand other groups. SP is very mainstream, accessible "alternative" music for the Top-40 crowd, really.

Carla Bozulich could kick his ass. I'm sure of it.

Despite all his rage, Billy still passes out on the stage.

Simple, golden, you can even sing it.

The fact that someone else on Fark has even heard of C.B., let alone likes her output, gives me great cause to smile.

He was great when I saw him at the Adler back in 2008.

Normally I would join in on the Corgan bashing since I cannot stand his music, but he has the best quote ever about Ritchie Blackmore:

"Pound for pound, Ritchie Blackmore is the greatest British blues guitarist ever, but he's such an asshole that no one will ever give him any credit."

Though I don't really get the comparison to Medicine (even though I know the bands toured together and Billy remixed a track or two for Medicine), I would say this is fairly spot on. If every bit of pretension, perceived or otherwise, that came along with the alternative/indie coalesced into one band, it would be the Smashing Pumpkins.

Don't get me wrong, when SP is good, they're very good; but for every Cherub Rock or Siva, they do shiat like Disarm or Tonight Tonight that just come off as begging to be taken as a Serious Artists.
