I always defer to the NRO when I need to know why or who I should be mad at

2010-07-16 05:12:08 PM
We're angry at Gibbs for stating facts? I did not know that.

2010-07-16 05:27:08 PM
Pelosi's done a great job getting legislation through the House.

Seriously. I'm most upset with thumb up his butt Harry Reid.

Pelosi and Gibbs are pissed at each other. Does anyone who doesn't live in D.C. care?

2010-07-16 05:34:53 PM
Because it's the most racist thing Gibbs has ever done.

2010-07-16 05:42:49 PM
They didn't "endanger" anything. They did what they were elected to do - use their majority to pass the best legislation they could.

The point of a majority isn't to keep it. It's to use it.

Why isn't NRO mad at itself for agreeing with Gibbs?

2010-07-16 05:48:20 PM
The Democrats endangered their own majority by milling around like a bunch of turkeys caught in the rain, while Obama and Pelosi tried to keep them from looking up, gape-mouthed, and drowning.

2010-07-16 08:21:13 PM
NRO sounds... concerned.

2010-07-16 08:28:59 PM
What did Pelosi do? She delivered for Obama, but it was the Senate who kept hanging on everything.

Why? With the constant filibusters, leading the Senate is a much more difficult position right now. And Reid is STILL getting 60+ cloture votes, even after Scott Brown.

Probably because this Administration and Congress have accomplished both Health Care Reform and Financial Reform packages. Although both will need improvements and updates, its still accomplishing more in the first two years than any Administration I can remember, including Clinton's. I'm a Green but I admire the accomplishing spirit.

Yea, that part of the Legislature that was intended to maintain a brain. They could do a better job.

handy if you need to clean quickly if there's company coming.

even handier if said company is jehovah's witnesses and you just want to get rid of them entirely.

Just sayin'.

Wait, so the narrative now is that the Democrats are going to lose the House? Seems like some party is trying to stop the Teabagging by changing focus....

2010-07-17 01:30:27 AM
Sometimes NRO forgets that the noise machine only calls the shots for republicans and Independents™. This has been one of those times apparently.

The party with the presidency virtually always loses dozens of seats in the midterms. It'd be a shock if they didn't.

2010-07-17 01:40:24 AM
Yeah, there's absolutely zero chance the Gibbs and Pelosi aren't milking this into a manufactured spat to confound Republicans.

I mean really. When I first heard Gibbs say this some days ago, I was like, "Ha, you sly dog you." He threw Republicans a huge bone to chew on.

I just wish he and the Administration had been this sly for, say, HCR, but I suspect they were, and that they never really cared to pass a single payer or public option all along.

they weren't intended to be elected by the same mob that elects the House.

2010-07-17 01:47:26 AM
So we lose seats. We've been getting shiat done.

Not as much shiat as I'd like, and not as sweeping, but it's still one hell of a productive Congress despite all the obstructionism.

So is it too early to start demanding to know why the fark the orange man hasn't fixed the economy yet? Or do I need to actually wait 'til election day for that?

The thing most endangering the House majority is Republican Propaganda.

Um, but if you use it by enacting policies that the people who elected you think are garbage, doesn't that kinda mean you aren't doing what you were hired to do?

No they did not. They never tried to pass "good" legislation that was good for the country. If they wanted pass good legislation they never would have passed Obamacare during the financial crisis .

Recap of 2009:

The people- "Jobs jobs jobs... economy economy economy"

The Democrats- "Shut up you insolent children... we are too busy with using our freakish majority on Obamacare"

And now the Dems wonder?

In a truly just and educated world, Boner's idiotic comments about a "moratorium" on regulation would prevent him and the coonts he leads from ever winning another election. The only logical thing for him to say now is "I want every federal regulator fired right now, or I will pull down my pants, expose my mahogany-colored ass, jump up on top of Maobama's desk, and play in my own feces." He will maintain the Republican base irregardless, prove he is an actual ideologue, and pull in several million more votes by sheer virtue of entertaining a seriously depressed country.

Since I've been making fun of other publications when they do this:

Yes, for all my information on what the left thinks and feels, I go to NRO, clearly the most reliable source and "in the know" about such things.

codewerdna: We are, Pelosi is an idiot and Obama has been disappointing. The later I would still vote for, Pelosi...well I probably would but that doesn't mean I like her.

Why don't you like Pelosi? Seriously, in the last 2 years I have never been able to get an actual response to this that didn't include "she's a biatch" or "she's a coont" or "she's ugly".

The bills that have passed the house under her leadership have been generally much better than what actually became law. She is doing her job, and rather well. Granted, the cats in the House are easier to corral then the cats in the Senate, but by any measure she has been very effective.

2010-07-17 10:26:18 AM
Why does the right wing rag NRO do everything it can to undermine this legally elected government and its efforts to get this nation back on its feet again??

why?

because those fascist Turds want power. when they get back into power, they can resume their raping and pillaging of this nation for profit.

that's why.
