Hey I like wipeout!

/I can watch it while I TiVo "Ow My Balls!"

2010-07-16 12:30:12 PM
Dude. Wipeout is friggin' hilarious. I don't care what you say.

2010-07-16 12:31:42 PM
See its been covered, but Wipeout is fricken awesome.

2010-07-16 12:32:00 PM
Let's not forget programming like "Big Bang Theory" that un-surprisingly my moron roommates absolutely love. And before anyone gets all butt hurt, I did try to watch an episode and found it awkward and un-original. (aside from this show, the only thing I see them watch is animated programs like "teentitans" and "justice-league" which are so clearly children's programming it's painful. They are 24 years old. I hate them so much.

Wipeout is a stupid, shameless knockoff of Takeshi's Castle/MXC

Still, the announcer Jill is hot and watching fat people get injured is hilarious.

The springing wall panel this week was great.

I would like to see the Johns brutally murdered.

One more for the Wipeout crowd. I sometimes like not having to think and watching people made to look like idiots.

What's fark's problem with Wipeout? It's a show where people fall down. What could be funnier?

Wipeout is a fine television show. If you don't want to see fat people fall into mud don't turn it on.

Zer0ne: What's fark's problem with Wipeout? It's a show where people fall down. What could be funnier?

Well, so far it's getting some support. I'm sure we'll get a dozen Idiocracy image macros and 3 or 4 "I DON'T EVEN OWN A TV" guys, but overall I think people accept that it's just an obstacle course game show.

2010-07-16 12:35:44 PM
HEY SUBBY WTH? Wipeout is great!

2010-07-16 12:36:52 PM
The only problem I have with Wipeout is that it is not a two hour show and that we don't see more of the contestants' individual runs. And Jill should have more airtime and there should be more shots of that magnificant ass of hers.

I think my only concern with it is that while the bouncy red balls are hilarious, they cross the line between "obstacle" and "diving board". I've seen about a dozen episodes of Wipeout and I think I've seen 2 people successfully cross them.

I like how so far in this thread there's tons of support for Wipeout but nobody for the Jersey Shore - this is why I love Fark.

Seriously subby, Wipeout!? Yes, it is heavily borrowed from Takeshi's Castle, but they proved that heavily padding things does not take away the sheer joy of watching someone go flying.

That said, they need an all Japanese show. Those TC contestants were apeshiate.

Wipeout is the greatest TV show ever! Will, at least since The Wire.
The spring wall was farking great. Nothing like seeing people running along and getting blindsided into cold water.

Well, one of the great moments of TV history did happen on that show. When that dude cold-cocked that mouthy biatch.

So what you're telling me is, that i've got a chance.

I agree, more Jill ass shots. More TV time on the contestant runs. Less Johns.

True, but several of the obstacles are beyond difficult - how many people make it across the punch-out wall? Or over the collapsing column things, or past those gear things that contestants can take a time penalty for? It's insanely rare for anybody to get across those successfully. I don't really see a problem with this.

I think it comes down to patience on the part of the contestant. Generally the ones that make it, which as you pointed out are few and far between, take a moment before just randomly jumping from ball to ball (like your mom). It also makes for some of the most spine-crunching, wince-inducing examples of fail that can be found on any show. "Ow My Balls" not included.

/I'm sure your mom is a fine woman, just had to throw that in there.

I don't care if people make it across The Big Balls. I would rather see a fat black woman dripping mud hit by The Motivator so hard that the shock wave through her fat makes her boobs smack together, thus sending a jet of mud out of her cleavage and into her face. That moment was re-played over and over at the Scott household.

I watch the first 40 minutes of wipeout, and then when the final competition comes on, I often just skip the rest of it. I don't care who wins, I just want to see people flying through the air end over end and landing in the water.

Wipeout is awesome. Jill is spectacularly hot. Subby is a troll (and a damn fine one).

This may be the most efficient Fark thread ever.

I like the ending too, although I find myself rooting for the course. Best case scenario would be 4 DQs and a minor injury or 3.

Wipeout takes Jersey Shore rejects and punches them in the gunt. If you hate JS, you have to like wipeout. I don't see how you can hate them both.

If your gripe is that it's a ripoff of MXC, well.. then you're probably a hipster and you're doing it wrong anyway. You should be watching old reruns of battle of the network stars; it's far more obscure to your doofus hipster friends.

Wipeout is mindless entertainment - I had it on last night while I was finishing up some work and laughed out loud several times.

Hole in the Wall was MUCH more entertaining and I wish they had not canceled it. Minute To Win It is pretty good too.

\if you have the G4 channel, look for Ninja Warrior - that is the granddaddy of all game shows.

So did I, it's my dream playground, plus I'd love to see people go flying in person, it's more fun that way. Good luck in the selection process.

Wipeout rocks. That new wall of getting smacked in the face or whatever it's called is awesome. Jill is always hot and the play by play has it's lol moments.

Wipeout is stupid. Mindlessly stupid.
That's not to say that sometimes it's fun to watch mindlessly stupid TV, but let's not give it more credit than is due.

There are people who watch Jersey Shore for the same reason.

"So awful, it's funny" isn't Emmy-worthy programming though.
