So...how many "firsts" can one procedure really have? I mean, isn't this at least the 3rd time this has...

Oh...the headline already mentioned that...nevermind.

Considering it was done in France... the patient was lucky they didn't give up half-way through the operation!

welcome to the future, where if you arent the first person to do something, its not worth doing.

And if you arent the first person to do something, to make it worth doing just say you are the first to everyone you know.

"We are the first to have done a full-face transplant including eyelids and tear ducts. I am proud because this has been done in France," Lantieri was quoted as saying.

So, they were the first to do something that has already been done?

This quote may require a "lol wut" pear. Possibly a French variant.

The left ones an angler fish (sharp teeth and all), and the right one's Droopy Dog.

While the right one wouldn't pass by unnoticed in a mall it is still a far cry from the deformity on the left. And whats in her neck? she couldn't even breath normally before? D: I'd say this one was a huge success.

I was hoping that it would be that Charla Nash woman and that she was getting the face of a chimp because that would be all ironic and stuff. Plus, she could fight crime with her chimp vision.

Begun, the Full Face Transplant Wars have.

Also, anyone have a followup on that lady? They said the baggy face was to have extra skin that they would work on later as needed, depending how well the skin "took". I'm wondering if it's "later" now. I guess by the article's "successful" wording that it didn't turn out as well as they had hoped.

Another reason why I am against organ donation. My face is my face. Like hell my friends and family will be okay with having it transplanted onto someone else. It is just sick and wrong.
