Just 5 more years until 2015. Let's see how much BTTF II got right (and wrong)

Right:
Ubiquitous use of technology
Video phones
Massive flat-panel TVs
Being able to watch multiple channels at once
Fingerprint scanners

Wrong:
Flying cars
Dehydrated pizza
Abolishing all the lawyers
Fax machines everywhere
Suspended animation kennels

The headline is a little shaky since the DeLorean was not stolen by Michael J Fox and Lea Thompson, but made me laugh anyway.

In other words, there isn't enough road to get to 85?

Of course, roads! Unless you have some information regarding our destination that I may not be privy to, perhaps? (in a Zoidberg voice)

Later this year, blu-ray editions of BTTF are being released. It is rumored that very brief snippets of the Stoltz footage will finally escape the vaults as part of a documentary on the blu-ray discs.

This is a perfect opportunity to post this video:

Enchantment Under the Sea Dance Revisited

Someone took the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance sequences from BTTF1 and 2 and compared them to see how well they work together. It actually works very well indeed; kudos to the Bobs for attention to detail!

25 years ago I was working as an usher in a movie theater in a small town. We got BTTF on our biggest screen and we left there for 16 weeks. I memorized all the lines. It was a good summer.

HEY MACFLY YOUR SHOE IS UNTIED!

what a great movie, the stuff where his mom is basically trying to f___ him is kind of strange, but man If that was my mom I'd give into the temptation ;)

I wonder how that movie would work today. If Marty went from 2010 to 1980 rather than from 1985 to 1955. The "cultural shock" aspect just wouldn't be there. It'd be more "ohh my iPhone doesn't work. I have to use a normal phone".

Er, bits have already been seen in the special edition dvds. Most likely it'll just be the same snippets.

Check Youtube.

ClintonKun: Holy crap, I'm exactly the same age as BTTF (Today is my birthday, I'm 25 today) Great Scott!

I went out with a friend for dinner last night at a local neighborhood bar and was asked for my ID. I forgot my wallet and she asked me if I was over 21. My response was "I was born when Nixon was president". Blank stare from the 20 something waitresss.

Moral of story? None. Except to say that I feel old knowing this movie is 25 years old and there are people serving booze at bars younger than that who don't know who Nixon was.
