This is one flavored vodka I can understand, who wants pieces of oily fish breaking down and floating in their drink?

What's ridiculous is when people mix cranberry flavored vodka with their cranberry juice.

/Yo dawg, I heard you like cranberries.

"Once the fish is smoked, the skin is removed and employees masticate the fillets." Its that maverick-y Alaskan spit that truly lends the smokey savor and extended palate to this delightfully complex Inuit offering.

Yum, I'd like to order a fishtini please. No olives, they're disgusting.

FTA: "Once the fish is smoked, the skin is removed and employees masticate the fillets. The chunks are placed into a large vat, where highly concentrated ethanol is mixed in."

What? I'm sure nothing nasty is able to survive in the process, but, what? Do not want.

A carton of pre-flavored cotton candy sugar costs about six bucks. A handle of tolerable-quality vodak costs about fifteen bucks. Sugar dissolves in water, and vodak is like halfty percent water.

There, I've done the research. Somebody else go try making it now.

If it's being distilled afterwards, there's not an issue.

But I agree with the sentiment of "do not want."

/And now that applies to lunch

For years I've had this reoccurring theme of flavored liquor in my dreams...It is usually a whiskey flavored with some sort of baked bean/ suger baby hybrid, with floating chunks of bean-like material in it. Sounds disgusting but is always quite good in my dream.

Yeah so flavors like this? old news...

Well, since there appears to be demand, I'll have a batch ready in a Jif.

So... they smoke some salmon... break it up, then pour some good quality store bought vodka on the fish, and let it sit for a week.

Dunno... I'd be a little more impressed if they made the vodka themselves.

I went to a Russian vodak bar in NYC acouple of years back. It was this little hole in the wall with no sign or anything.

Once inside it was filled with the types of Russians that I remember from cold war era movies- they were thick accented, burly folks who patted you down as you walked back into the main area.

We actually had a blast there that night. I had no idea that there were so many different types of vodak. Among my favorites were pomegranate infused and peppered.

Among my least favorite (basically done only on a drunken dare) was the garlic vodak. I'm a big fan of garlic but when you soak raw garlic in vodak for a few months it renderes the vodak.... awful.

Salmon vodka? Is it made by Shmearnoff?
