I saw this thing when it was on this morning.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was completely bizarre.

I kept expecting a bear to show up and steal her picnic basket.

2010-06-28 07:11:57 PM
meh she just needs more time with a media consultant. Barring that, maybe she has a face for books.

She wasn't bad until the HURR LOOK GLOVES thing.

She seriously looks, acts, and sounds completely hammered.

The most frightening thing about this post-apocalyptic horror novel? The sentence "A signed pardon from Governor Jenna Bush herself. (new window)

The English Major: I kept expecting a bear to show up and steal her picnic basket.

That's probably what she was expecting too.

You don't say...

Seriously, her talking there reminded me a lot of that horrible Bristol Palin thing that was greenlit earlier, if only Bristol was wasted, and trying to do soft-news instead of act.

She's no Luke Russert, that's for sure.

2010-06-28 08:53:28 PM
...

Well it's a good thing she's got a job in broadcasting. I don't know what the audience would do without her insightful reporting at Yellowstone.

To be fair---given that one of them is about 12 and the other 9, I'd have to say that would be a pretty big news story.

Could have been worse. She could have said "Look, hand shoe."

2010-06-28 10:06:14 PM
Yeah, it did seem a bit unusual, but to be fair, how many of you could do better than her? I have some broadcast experience and it does take a lot of time and effort to develop that polished air about you in a studio and even more time to keep up appearances when you are on site and far from the control of a studio. Yes, she was far from perfect, but why don't you try to do it and keep your cool when you are just as inexperienced as she appeared to be.

I don't think she was at the park. The anchor and the other person were toying with her asking how it was and if it was cold out there. She was obviously in front of a green screen.

Take your reason and experience and shove it up your ass. This is FARK godamnit, FARK - where paradise is sucking Obama's footlong, golden cock and all the evil in the world is the fault of Bush.

And we should care... why?

I would say a couple shots of Rumple Minze and a a few tokes..otherwise know as breakfast to Jenna.

If he makes it to a second term, at least one of his daughters will be approaching the age where they'll be ridiculed or objectified. Many Farkers did it to the Bush girls. I think the difference is that Obama's kids will probably behave themselves...but right wing media all stars will still stop at nothing to make them look bad.

What? Is it really that far-fetched? Beck's already started.

well at least Malia Obama has someone to blame if she doesn't do well in her first public speaking class. Though I suppose "B-B-But Barbara!" would work better :)

Yeah see, thats why daddy should have pulled strings at a local news station somewhere in Texas and NOT ON A FREAKING NATIONAL SHOW.

The difference is that NONE OF US would have been hired if demonstrating her obvious lack of skill and confidence.

Now, if it's an isolated incident and she was just getting that initial stage fright out of the way, fine. I hope she goes on to have a pleasant career. But I have a sneaking suspicion that this is as good as she's capable of and only got the gig for the possible buzz it might create.

Also, Welcome to Fark. :)

What an astoundingly stupid thing to say. Of course it's hard which is why, generally, those picked to do it are actually pretty good at it, usually because of natural talent combined with a lot of hard work. If she's going to be on TV at that level, then she should have to actually perform at that level. And, if she doesn't, then people should feel comfortable criticizing her.

/Plus, we all know that she's only there b/c of her familial connections which makes her failure particularly tasty.

2010-06-28 11:22:11 PM
I wonder if anyone told her that Yellowstone is the most dangerous place on earth because it is on top of the largest supervolcano that could pretty much doom all of mankind in one eruption.

"Pretty nice place to spend your vacation" indeed.
