Nah, people are fairly rare in those parts.

I used to live up in that part of the world and worked there later. There aren't many people around - jackpine, muskeg, moose and blackflies for the most part. Flin Flin doesn't need to worry - the pollution from the mine has pretty much killed all the vegetation within 5 KM of the place.

Google Maps (clickety-poppity) Note how everything is green except around Flin-Flon where it is nicely grey.

Wow! Northern Manitoba has a resident now? That's awesome!

Now all we have to do is find a guy for Northern Saskatchewan and maybe Labrador, and the north will be settled.

That why it was so damn smokey a couple days ago... like a haze all over Winnipeg almost enough to block out most of the sun.

Probably those damn natives in the north, partying too hard with their settlement cheques and burned the farking place down...

Smelter shut down I think just over a week ago in Flin Flon. Since then, earthquake in Ontario, tornadoes, G20 riots, floods south of the area, and a massive fire... coincidence?

That thing and it's 800ft smoke stack protected the country from ills. Mark my words... resident(s) will start dropping like flies now that the shield has been powered down.

Up in Manitoba, the sky was very blue
The people were a few
The nights were getting colder
And when I heard the sound
Saw the sky turn red,
And got up from my bed
And wandered far from town

Came for this, leaving disappointed.

Man, you weren't kidding. The only colour around there is in those suspiciously fluorescent waste ponds.

No wonder the government's weed sucked.
