I'm not even a Saints fan (although I do love the city of New Orleans), and I was celebrating that night. I can only imagine what the proper parties were like.

My dad passed away this week. He was the biggest Saints (and football) fan. He was Who Dat decades before it was cool, and watched them every week.

He saw Dempsey's 63-yard kick live on TV, all the playoff wins, and the Super Bowl victory. He was the first person I called after the game, and he thought the onside kick was probably the best play he'd ever seen.

I got him the hat, and joked about him living long enough to see them do it. We were still talking about them the day he died...
