... still no cure for cancer.

2003-05-30 12:21:13 PM
I haven't read the article but I assume it means that it's easier to pick up fat chicks at 3am than it is to get rid of them before breakfast.

2003-05-30 01:12:17 PM
Unless you get your stomach stapled and pose in Playboy.

2003-05-30 04:47:14 PM
duh

2003-05-30 04:49:00 PM
yeah, you can go steal fat out of out patient cosmetic surgery clinics and make bombs tyler durgin style

2003-05-30 04:49:13 PM
and, apparantly, easier still to get grants to research the obvious

2003-05-30 04:49:20 PM

For all you "still no cure for cancer" retards, realize that this really is new information, to a point. Read the article for details (hint: it's not talking about your beer gut or those pesky thights)

Also, this is a repeat :)

I really wish these scientists would stuff a slice in their mouth and wash it down with a cup of STFU. This guy knows how to do it.

So if you pick up a fat chick at 3:00 am, would it be correct to say you would have a layer of fat around your organ at 3:15 am?

(provided you didn't have to stop by Whataburger on the way to the hotel)

Not to mention more enjoyable...nothing like kicking it in the recliner throughout an entire football weekend with a steady case of the munchies, plenty of beer, and the pizza/chinese/whatever food on speed dial.

I can sympathize with everyone who can't lose weight...

but only cause I can't gain weight!

WTF, I stop working out, I sit around all day and I ate pizza. The more I eat...the faster I go to the bathroom. It's like my body refuses to gain anything!

I should have a study done on me.

I know! It was totally easy eating that quart of Ben&Jerrys but running the 12 miles to burn it off is like totally hard! I'm glad a scientific study agrees with me so now I don't have to feel guilty about not running 12 miles! In fact, I'm gonna eat a whole pepperoni pizza AND a quart of Ben&Jerrys!
[/end sarcasm]

Common sense is not news.

2003-05-30 05:11:03 PM
Rob_Dude, I agree completely.

I would really like to know how diet effects this.

How about the same two groups (one exercising, the other not) but instead of eating "normal", they both eat a healthy diet. Then what are the effects?

It's well known we (Americans) eat way too much suger and other simple carbohydrates and not enough fruit and veggies.

I needed that.

Wow.... thanks for the "obvious" tag. Talk about "taxpayer dollars at work".... shiat, *I* could have told them that!

And yet cancer, et. al., goes uncured.

Chalk this up to some boob needing a doctoral thesis subject and not wanting to work too hard.

Rob_Dude & HeOfTheGoiter

I feel your pain. It took me 10 years to learn how to gain. Even though I worked out and ate fairly good, I could not gain muscle weight. My theory is that I need extra stores of fat to gain muscle and since I was at 0% body fat I couldn't gain anything at all.

Here's one trick I recently used to gain almost 20 pounds over a 6 month period. First I started an extremely high protein diet. Eating about 1 gram of protein per pound of my goal weight plus the normal healthy foods (fruit, vegetables, complex carbs). This took an extreme amount of effort on my part as that's a hell of a lot of dense food. I did this for about 3-4 months to acclimate my body to the high protein diet. After that (I didn't gain much), I switched to eating anything I wanted. I was amazed at how much unhealthy food I could consume after living on the high protein diet for a while. Entire boxes of donuts would melt away in my mouth. I would eat entire large pizzas in one sitting. I did this for about 3 months and almost instantly gained the 20 pounds (mostly fat but I needed it). So I basically shocked my system into gaining the weight and the extra fat stores I desired. I then went back to the healthy diet and could maintain and gain good weight easier.

Note that I was still exercising and working out the whole time, but less while on my "fat diet".

Remember, nobody is the same and it might take a bit of work to figure out what works for you but that worked for me. Once I had the fat stores it was easier to gain muscle. I found that I have to completely saturate my body with calories for it to start gaining (which was way more food than I was used to eating).

Oh, I forgot to mention something.

Eat 5 or 6 times a day. That makes is easier to pack in the food. This is hard unless you're sitting at home all the time, but the effort is worth it if you really want to gain.

2003-05-30 06:03:04 PM
Oh those wacky scientists!

Will they EVER cure cancer?

2003-05-30 06:31:08 PM
ROBDUDE: Stop taking all those laxatives, maybe you will gain a few pounds!

Customer: Can I have a burger please?

Counter Jockey: Which one would you like?

Customer: It's the one that says "I wanna be a big fatass motherfarker" on it.

There is no excuse for being fat.. not metabolism.. not 'Oh but I'm always hungry'.. not some medical hocus pocus that says your body just doesn't burn off the weight. If you're fat, it's because you WANTED to be fat, and no one else's fault but your own (or the parents who let their kids eat nothing but marketed crap all day). Proper diet, exercise, and discipline. It's not hard at all, and you can still have a burger every now and then.

2003-05-30 06:47:11 PM
I'm starting to think that any man is "attractive" who isn't overweight. Not really young guys, but guys over 30. They get points now just for not being fat.

Lately, all researchers show,
After giving the science a go,
Is an obvious ending.
The millions they're spending
Just tell us the things that we KNOW.

We already knew that, thank you.

Comslave: I'm not lazy, but I'm fat...so STFU, please.

2003-05-30 10:25:25 PM
Comslave --- fark off. I go to the gym 5 days a week
for 2 hours a day. I'm on a rigorous exercise program.
I eat balanced and SMALL meals. I am still not losing
weight. Wanna know what? Four different doctors have
said the same thing -- "its a genetic problem" -- with
my metabolism. Do I complain? No, I work harder at it.

Get a life, loser. Not everyone's a whiney moron like you.

2003-05-30 10:28:06 PM
BTW, Comslave, ignorance is bliss, you must be shiat-awful happy.

In a couple of years when you're old and unable to run the mile in under 7 minutes, there'll be a bunch of us happy to shout: YOU'RE SLOW BECAUSE YOU'RE LAZY! IT'S NOT YOUR TELOMERES! YOU'RE SLOW BECAUSE YOU'RE LAZY! IT'S NOT YOUR TELOMERES!

Dumbshiat.

NO FARKING SHIAT?!

2003-05-31 12:41:37 AM
Ha. A recap of an article posted yesterday, I do say.

2003-05-31 01:54:56 AM
I reiterate:

No matter how much or how little exercise I did, I stayed the same weight.

I lost 20 lb. by eating almost zero prepackaged food, replacing carbs with protein/fat, and cutting out as much shiat (i.e. high-fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated vegetable oil) as I could.

I'm eating a lot less than I used to. Sometimes it's just one normal-sized meal (i.e. plate of salad or 1.5 chicken breasts with vegetables) per day. Lunch has become "sandwich" instead of "sandwich and..." I have to walk everywhere, unless the weather is nice and I can bicycle. But...

I'm not losing any more weight. I hit the plateau. Again, no matter how much or how little I exercise, or how much or how little I eat, my weight doesn't change.

At this rate, I'm going to eventually have to reduce my diet to a multivitamin and ice water twice a day.

2003-05-31 02:34:58 AM
Wow. Fat people continue to be a laugh riot. Man, they eat too much so they're overweight. I still cant get over the comedic value that delivers!

2003-05-31 04:23:22 AM
I need to lose fat.. but not sure what to do .. any good advices?

2003-05-31 09:22:14 AM
Actually I think it is the other way around. It takes me 4 years to gain 30 lbs. It takes me two months to lose 30 lbs. Go figure.

2003-05-31 12:10:19 PM
Revelation

How much you trying to lose?

2003-05-31 12:54:25 PM
evillive: I am 5'8 and weight 160... so I am thinking about losing 10 or 15 pounds ... mostly from my love handles..

2003-05-31 07:49:07 PM
Did I miss a day at school somwhere?

I mean I know I didn't pay attention, but at what point did they announce, i mean, did they get on the PA on like, a Thursday and go, Uh, Tomorrow, you'll be having fishsticks, and I just want you kids to know that eating makes you fat.
