The problem is that here's a rather large body of literature on the topic from other research teams in Australia and Appalachia. While I understand that science thrives on the validation of results by multiple research teams, research of this type has been published for nearly a century^1,2,3, and I, for one, think it's high time that they explored a larger parameters space. Seriously, how are they going to get grants reinventing the wheel like that?
