FTFA: Am I the only person who would totally buy tickets for Plan 9 in 3-D?

Aw HELL no. I'll be there.

/Bela Lugosi's final role.
//He was totally trashed on morphine at the time.

Terrible movie, terrible operating system.

Plan 9 from Outer Space is far from being the worst movie of all time.

It only got that label from lazy media types. Plan 9's incompetence is actually very entertaining which is more than I can say for the media.

Agreed. Ed Wood, for all his failings, TRIED to make movies. Now he was terrible at it, but hey, that happens.

There's far worse things. Hell, there's far worse things riffed by MST3K (say, Manos: the Hands of Fate or ::shiver:: Master Ninja movies.)

And then there's the school of the modern terrible film. See Maybe currently-in-theaters Jonah Hex, which is as broken a film as I've ever seen. i'd rather watch a half dozen pink angora pictures then that.

"White Chicks" is FAR worse than Plan 9. Hell, "Deuce Bigalow, European Gigolo" is worse than Plan 9.

This idea is comprised solely of win and awesome.

I don't know, after watching the trailer for the Green Hornet, I think Plan 9 will lose it's title of worst picture ever by doing nothing at all. Much like Jimm Carter may lose his title of worst president ever to Obama by doing nothing.

now, can some one give me directions to the politics tab, my GPS is on the fritz...

I say they go all in and colorize it as well.

Done in three.

Will only watch this film if Shadowrama is enabled.

Have you seen the Jonah Hex movie? It CAN'T be that bad.

These people are really stupid. This retro-conversion to 3D really looks terrible and is hurting the future market for movies filmed in native 3D.

Most of the people I know refuse to see the 3D versions of movies now because of their bad experiences with the retro-3D movies.

Short term thinking from limited minds.

In every thread about horrible movies I see, I mention the movie "Pocket Ninjas". I still have yet to see any Farkers mention that they have seen it.

FORBID.

I think Hollywood should re-boot Plan-9. Maybe a "re-imagining". Perhaps darker too. Yeah. And 3D goes without saying. Get that kid from Transformers to play the lead too cuz he's awesome.

Legend Films did that back in 2006.

I just love watching movies like 'Plan 9', 'Wild Women of Wonga', 'Godzilla v The Smog Monster' and the latest bit of nonsense, 'Mega Shark v Giant Octopus'. Colour and 3D though? Nope.

This. If you gave Ed Wood a 40 million dollar budget he probably would have made an awesome flick (in fact I would totally like to see a serious re-make of Plan 9, Aliens making zombies? Awesome). The real crime is farktards who get million dollar budgets and still turn out crap.

Megan Fox could play the Vampira role!

Of course, it wouldn't be acting, because she's just a brainless, mindless, vapid thing anyway.

However, I have faith that Megan Fox couldn't even act well enough to portray a zombie!

saintstryfe: There's far worse things. Hell, there's far worse things riffed by MST3K (say, Manos: the Hands of Fate or ::shiver:: Master Ninja movies.)

To be fair, the Master Ninja movies weren't really movies, but a partial season of a TV series that had its episodes combined into "movies".

Agreed that Manos: the Hands of Fate is way worse than Plan 9.

Oh, and that kid from Arrested Development... Michael Cera? He could be the pilot!

/but they would never get an actor with as great a name as Dudley Manlove. Only Randolph Mantooth could come close.

barneyfifesbullet: Plan 9 from Outer Space is far from being the worst movie of all time.

as a huge fan of the movie I have to disagree, it is god awful, and only glen or glenda could compete with it for worst movie ever.

But thats what makes it so much fun. But it is the worst movie ever made.

/true its all subjective.

It's streaming on Netflix. I haven't talked myself into watching it yet.

It's no worse than the Star Wars Holiday Special or Manos.

Plan 9 was a staple on Channel 11 in NY while I was growing up. My favorite bit for some reason is when the cop scratches his head with the barrel of his gun. Always makes me laugh. I finally saw it in a theater about 25 years ago. I'd never noticed on TV that the graveyard is indoors and that there's a black sheet hanging in the background. Yeah, I need this in 3-D.

"Bring me the big one!"

Sorry, worst movie ever... No arguments !!

radioman_: My favorite bit for some reason is when the cop scratches his head with the barrel of his gun.

How about the chase scene towards the end? Depending on which character the camera is focused on, it's either daytime or nightime.
(I think it's "Bela" chasing the chick--haven't watched it for awhile.)

I wrote "Bela" cuz the real Bela was dead at that point in the filming. That's why you never actually see his face...

3D Plan 9? Not so bad. At least is wasn't Battlefield Earth.

If it ain't broke, don't fark it up more.

Here's another insult: give it a contemporary soundtrack like they tried with Metropolis. That also didn't help the careers of the rockers involved.

Oh, yeah ... thanks for reminding me why I don't go to ew.com anymore: the honkin' huge ads they slap on there while you're trying to read the damn article.

I heard somewhere that the actor playing the cop did it on purpose to see if Ed Wood was actually paying attention. Clearly, he wasn't.

No argument here, Zom. I saw the movie (in a theater, even!) Friday and she was the only thing that movie had going for it.

They say it's going to be full color. I'm not so sure about this.
