Not really news, sperm donation places have been very selective ever since they existed. Men must meet a height, health, and education requirement. This one is apparently adding a group-vote system. Doesn't seem too outrageous.

This. Sorry to disappoint the Lamarckians out there, but plastic surgery can't be passed on through genes. As it gets more popular and affordable, more naturally less-attractive people will be able to join the ranks of The Beautiful People, removing the genetic pressure toward attractiveness. When pressure for traits vanishes, the traits themselves tend to vanish over time too.

Ever notice how many beautiful couples have unattractive children, and vice versa? The most gorgeous man I know -- the classic tall, dark and handsome -- is the product of two short, rotund, unexceptional people. Good luck with that whole "breeding-for-looks" thing; more often than not, it doesn't work.

This seems somewhat self-defeating to me. I doubt that these people keep any sort of records as to where their sperm ends up, and the greater the concentration of children that don't realise that they're related, the greater the chance of inbreeding. If anything, they'll end up replacing their "Beautiful" genes with eight fingers and a penchant for the banjo.

Eh - say whatever you want; the truth is being attractive is one of the most important attributes a person can have.

Attractive people earn more money, are more respected, treated more favorably, thought more highly of, even receive lessor punishments from our legal system.

And it's doubly true if the person is female.

In our society, if you are an attractive women, and want such a life, you will have no trouble being *given* a lifestyle superior to what most people can earn, simply because you are attractive. Whether that be as a stripper/model or simply a 'kept woman' married to a wealthy man.

You know who else would approve of this? Besides the founder of Planned Parenthood, I mean.

These people are deluded if they think they are exceptionally beautiful. The women on that site are 6s and 7s, an occasional 8-plus. Where they do surpass the rest of humanity is in their insecurities about their outer selves. Online dating people are horribly insecure but these poor schmucks are even worse.
