Yeah I dont care for her style of music but there are quite a few live clips of her singing on TV shows and even though her music sucks the girl can sing pretty well.

Then again, pop music has pretty much sucked for the past 30 or so years.

See I think of her as just the opposite. I am sure she has awareness that her music sucks, unlike the other pop stars, but I don't think it goes beyond that. Plus I believe she tried to get on a reality show at one point or something, so the girl wants fame just like anyone else. Nothing about her songs indicates that there is anything beyond it. It's just her making crappy music because she can. Nothing witty, nothing new.

I kind of like Lily Allen for my pop fix. Her songs actually say something and are often funny:

Here's where I'll agree with you.
Musically, she is quite talented and she has a good voice. Her lyrics are generally crap however, and her motivation seems more fame/attention driven rather than pushing the art (of which she tries to give the appearance of).

If you're an internationally known popstar who can use that to sweet talk their way past security, you may be able to do that. If you're a chubby 16 year old girl, you should at least be able to get in to see the steelers.
