Tough. You see that name on the stadium? When you get your own stadium, you can pay less.
2003-05-28 07:37:45 PM
I'm pissed the NY teams play in NJ.
2003-05-28 08:02:17 PM
The Bills play in NY, don't they?
2003-05-28 08:14:57 PM
I'll be cold in my grave before I recognize Buffalo as part of NY.
/Paraphrasing Grampa Simpson

I'm from Jersey and it just irks me that they play here, but call themselves NY.
2003-05-28 08:35:59 PM
A lot of folks share your sentiment, LandStander.

/Bills and Giants fan.
2003-05-29 12:00:44 AM
Funny, it would sound better to call them the Jersey Jets or the New Jersey Giants, but we've gotta kid ourselves. Even "The East Rutherford, New Jersey Jets" would sound good.

Number of New York teams in championships: 0

Number of New Jersey teams in championships: 2
2003-05-29 01:47:33 AM
Number of people who give a fark about basketball: way too many

Number of people who give a fark about hockey: way too small

BTW: I think this is the first time the Devils actually sold out a game!! (disgruntled ranger fan who can be at least proud of fan loyalty)
2003-05-29 01:49:39 AM
Big Al...

Kinda like the lame-ass Cubs fans that go to the park even if they put a pile of shiat on the field?

/white sox fan
2003-05-29 01:49:52 AM
I don't think the Nets have sold out a game yet...

just pathetic
2003-05-29 01:50:12 AM
Big Al, u realize those teams play football....right?
2003-05-29 01:51:41 AM
Downstairs, it's called loyalty, not just being fair weathered fans. Plus, maybe if U.S. Cellulisky Park wasn't a P.O.S., more fans would go there.
2003-05-29 01:53:11 AM
I couldnt care less about the park, i go to watch good baseball. and if the team doesn't provide me with any, i dont go.

THATS a real fan.
2003-05-29 01:53:37 AM
number of real fans in the entire NYC area: 0

/flame away
2003-05-29 01:55:11 AM
No Downstairs, that's called being a fair-weather prick. Real fans support their team through thick and thin.
2003-05-29 01:56:41 AM
What does it matter what state a team is associated with these days anyways? It's not like everyone on that team is going to be from that state anyways.

Big Al, u realize those teams play football....right?

I was responding to the comment about the number of NJ teams in the championship, which was posted above mine.
2003-05-29 01:58:12 AM
Big Al, ah, touche.
2003-05-29 02:00:14 AM

Depends on who's fault it is. If the management doesnt put-up, and the team slacks, then no...

that's the white sox current situation.

With their roster, they should be in 1st by far... the team isnt showing up, im not showing up.

The cubs are worse, usually... their management couldnt give a rat's ass becuase people show up to the friggin frat party anyway
2003-05-29 02:25:23 AM
perhaps its because...they suck?
2003-05-29 02:29:47 AM
It's because the Giants know which end-zone John Gotti is buried under.
2003-05-29 02:41:31 AM
Spiralscratch--i think you misspelled jimmy hoffa there, chief.
2003-05-29 02:42:26 AM
2003-05-29 02:47:23 AM
remember the 69 New York Jets? Willie Joe Namath and that white fur coat? now that was totally farking cool when they beat the Colts.
2003-05-29 03:02:57 AM
New York sucks.
2003-05-29 03:07:15 AM
does their stadium also come with lots of cats?
2003-05-29 03:07:24 AM
Eggo Man, remember when he modeled in panty hose?
2003-05-29 03:20:55 AM
Big Al

Rangerk$ fan$ are NOT loyal. It i$ (M$G) mo$tly $old out due to corporate account$ - and mo$t of them dont even $how up ( or they cant even GIVE THEM AWAY)
2003-05-29 03:57:26 AM
Maybe the Jets should stope being cheap and build their own stadium.

Didn't they want to get the name changed before?
2003-05-29 04:00:39 AM
Ah, they are trying, sorry for my misjudgement.

The Jets are still crap.
2003-05-29 04:03:26 AM
That's because they have to put Jets signs over the Giants signs when they play at home.
2003-05-29 04:04:44 AM
I heard the Giants also ate the Jets' box of Cheeze-Its even though it had "JETS" written on it and leave their dirty socks in the living room.
2003-05-29 04:13:13 AM
Aren't the jets considering building a 2 billion dollar stadium in downtown NYC?
2003-05-29 04:14:42 AM
ahhh yes, here's the link:

$1.2 billion manhattan stadium being considered.....
2003-05-29 04:15:37 AM
2003-05-29 04:32:45 AM
$1.2B and no parking. Now that's funny.
2003-05-29 05:57:25 AM
Ladies an Genoolmen, Welcome to Noo Yoak Ciry. We've goret all hieah: Da mets, da yankees, and da stadium. We can rent dat stadium to those tunnel an' bridge Jersey people, and charge em what eveh we want. If you gotta a problem with dat, we can take dis out side....

come on, lez go, you an me, white now, white heiah..hey Lueigy, Tony, call da boys, we've got some business to take care of wid dous pieces of sh......( boom, boom, bang, crush)
2003-05-29 07:05:37 AM
The reason the Jets pay more is their fans are dirtier.
2003-05-29 07:21:45 AM
YogaInfernoDidn't they want to get the name changed before?

Yeah. They changed it to the JETS. (Used to be the Titans, see, and... never mind.) As for the "New York" teams playing in the swamps of East Rutherford, I've only this to say: You can call an onion an apple, but don't expect me to eat your apple pie. That's why I now watch rugby. Go Old Blue!
2003-05-29 07:37:39 AM
The reason the Giants pay less is that they suck less. Besides, I think Jimmy Hoffa's will pays part of the Giants' rent, since he has such good seats under the 50 yard line or something...
2003-05-29 07:53:30 AM
And well deserved. I also think money should be taken directly out of Jets' fan's salaries to help pay for a new stadium for the Dolphins.
2003-05-29 08:34:40 AM
"The stadium, a key part of the city's bid for the 2012 Olympics, would not have parking facilities and most fans would be expected to use mass transit to get there."

does anyone else see a problem with this. A Staduim with no parking? in NY? O thats not a mass fustercluck waiting to happen.
2003-05-29 08:39:48 AM
same problem with the Metrodome in Minneapolis. No parking. There are some small private lots, but I usually end up parking on the street. You can imagine how far away that is. And no subways in Minneapolis.
2003-05-29 08:57:20 AM
WHO CARES....they both suck.
2003-05-29 08:57:22 AM
Not to mention that also puts the kaibosh on tailgate parties.

/Go Bills
2003-05-29 09:12:57 AM
Come on...if it smells like extortion, it must be Jersey.

When the Jets wake up with broken kneecaps and horse heads in their beds, maybe they'll get the point.

2003-05-29 09:19:00 AM
Since when is what the Rangers do called "playing hockey"?
2003-05-29 09:32:50 AM
StrongBrad: Get your head out of your @ss. NYC is the best sports town in the country. More fans, more diehard, devoted fans, more teams, more history, more championships. Go back to the boonies.
2003-05-29 09:50:35 AM
No, no. I have to agree with StrongBrad. NY doesn't give to shiats about their teams unless it's the Yankees or the Mets.

Philly, however, cares way too much.
2003-05-29 09:58:16 AM
I waiting for the time (about another 10 years I guess) when both teams are finally out of that stadium. I'm curious when they tear the stadium down IF they do find a body or two buried in it :-)

Keep those dental records of Hoffa handy :-)
