People should be unable to use the word "synergy" without at least half the room rolling eyes and the other half simply falling about the place laughing out loud.

Belgium is responsible directly or indirectly for the best beer in the world. I still can't understand why a Belgian company would want anything to do with Bud.

Oh yeah... money.

/Goose Island Matilda is one of my new favorites

The Silver Mullet: Headline does not parse...am I more retarded than usual?

The previous CEO of Anheuser-Busch made a plan to cut up to one billion dollars in costs. It was never carried out and the InBev company bought them out to form AB-InBev. The CEO of InBev found the plans to cut costs, loved it, and went with it. Had AB just done the plan in the first place they would have never been bought out.

In other words, Bush decided not to gut the company just to stop InBev from taking over (though they had plans in place to do so). But now InBev is using those plans. Major suck for the employees of Bush.

You should see the amount of "cost cutting" InBev did at the STL AB headquarters. Complete renovations costing millions ... yet now they worry about cost cutting. The article should have ended with, "Oh and you know how we said we weren't closing any breweries ... sry lol." I hate InBev, but the Busch family destroyed it themselves by losing controlling shares in the company.

InBev, what a lousy name for a company.... too connotative

Budweiser is mediocre beer that is only a little better than the 100% bull urine that is Coors.

Bud is fine, it's like Mcdonalds with benefits. Great for when I am working, running a chainsaw, various yardwork or mechanical stuff. But when I actually have time to just sit and drink, I prefer something tastier/stronger.

Fixed that for you.

Yes, our tastes are certainly different, but if you're drinking Belgian beer that's too syrupy or sweet... you got a bad batch or are drinking the wrong stuff.

Many AB employees lament on what once was. Few have acknowledged that AB was farking monopoly and hence had deep pockets to do whatever it wanted, a lot of which made no business sense.

So when reality came a knocking, everyone begun whining like the biatches they were.

Another thing. Blue Ocean would not have prevented the buy out. Not by a long shot. Ultimately, the share holders would have gotten greedy (or desperate) especially with the tanking economy at the time.

Yep. Going public can be a biatch.
