Q: Why do you have to take two Baptists with you when you go fishing?

A: Because if you take just one, he'll drink all your beer.

Someone is going to point out that it was a Church league, so they can enforce whatever rules they want. I don't disagree. But they do understand that this is why nobody likes them, right?

Probably not.

Really. Talk about hypocrisy.

Well, in all fairness to the Church, she was playing for the other team...

You will have enough straight women on softball team start a four-square league.

Why do so many churches with "baptist" in their name, never listen to Christ's teachings as well as John The Baptist did?

It's Baptists. They believe priests are going to hell anyway.

A Baptist church in Memphis... Is this the "Six Flags over Jesus" church? The one with the three big crosses by I-40?

No doubt the church believe that they are being persecuted and oppressed here.

How long until someone says "religion-bashing" in this thread?

My niece is almost 4 and she can hit a T-ball of the stand like nothing I have ever seen. I'm planning to give her my Subaru on her 16th birthday.

I was referring to the church when I posted this, meaning that by acting like bigoted dicks, people are going to think and say that you are bigoted dicks. I suppose that from their point of view it applies to the coach and team as well.

After all, if she wanted to play softball, she should have chosen not to be gay.

Because your church team playing against a team that contains lesbians might make them catch the ghey????

Or was it because Jesus had something against softball?

They're not being persecuted, but threads like this exist specifically for religion-bashing, whether you want to pretend otherwise or not. It's the same reason nearly every thread dealing with religion (the overwhelming majority of which are about Christians, even if it's a story from India) is greenlit - so pompous dicks eaten up with their own bigotry on any number of issues can beat the dead horse and hit the easy target. The number of "dumb Christian" threads on Fark is almost comical. I'm a goddamned agnostic atheist who spent a lot of his time growing up in the so-called "Bible belt" and even I got over my religion derangement before I turned 20.

Jesus' teachings on gay softball are well-known and inviolate.

Isn't it great that softball is basically synonymous with lesbianism?! We need other sports to get lezzed out too... perhaps badminton.

I was banned from a gay softball league for being straight. Well, not actually for being straight but for wearing a brown belt with black shoes. It's still discrimination people!

Sooooo...

The church takes people's registration money but then refuses to let them play because they don't like the coach's sexual preference, and in your mind, anyone who has a problem with this is a "deranged," anti-Christian bigot.

Interesting.

You have a unique insight into the world.

I hope that you're taking into account here that John the Baptist was pretty dense when it came to listening to his cousin.

How old were you when you first let a man make love to you?
Next who was he?
Next, how did you feel at the time?
Next, how did you feel afterwards?
What did you feel, what did you think?
Were you pleased, frightened, ecstatic, disgusted?

I guess the moment a Christian sees and acknowledges the world as it actually is, that person ceases to be a Christian. I wonder if it's like waking up out of a coma.
