"an anthem for teenagers"

More like an anthem for anyone ages 10-13.
2003-05-28 01:53:19 PM
wtf? bs!
2003-05-28 01:54:12 PM
Also... won't everyone who goes to see it know the plot and ending from the song?

Hollywood has finally sank to an all time low.

Lets see- how much did Brittney's movie "Crossroads" make?

yeah... thought so.

Months, right?

I think that someone should base a movie about an Aimee Mann song and throw in some frogs falling from the sky.
2003-05-28 01:58:10 PM
OMG h0lLy\/\/0od RUL3z
2003-05-28 01:58:20 PM
The Band and Neil Young notwithstanding, why do all Canadian acts blow?
2003-05-28 01:58:59 PM
Hey Farker Bois, don't be a bunch of H8ter Bois, it's only a movie.

Forgot to mention: "Hollywood out of ideas"...
2003-05-28 02:00:49 PM

Tell that to the Dayglo Abortions, hoser!

This movie is going to be fanfarkingtastically hilarious. I can't wait.
2003-05-28 02:00:57 PM
Gleaming the Cube Sequel?

If they can make a movie about the song "Sk8tr Boi" then I think they should make one from one of Slayer's songs.

Good horror movie. Yup.

In my day kids didn't have 1337 speak, we spoke English and people could understand each other! And we liked it, we loved it! Ohhh happy day I'm an educated and literate individual...

I hate that faux punk little poseur. I'd pay good money to see the surviving members of the Ramones bludgeon her with their guitars.
2003-05-28 02:02:19 PM
Scott Spock, Lauren Christy and Graham Edwards -- the writing-production team collectively known as the Matrix who co-wrote with Lavigne and produced "Sk8er Boi," among other hits, on Lavigne's album "Let Go"

Remember how part of Avril's big buzz was that she wrote her own songs?
2003-05-28 02:02:34 PM
Well let's look at the real evil here. This Avril broad is supposed to be punk. Punk doesn't do MTV. Real punk isn't about movies and videos. She is top 40. Blink 182 is top 40. Sum 41 is top 40.
I will admit however to enjoying some of Blink 182 stuff
2003-05-28 02:02:53 PM!

It's the end of the world.
2003-05-28 02:03:12 PM
WTF? Hopefully she'll star in this movie, it'll bomb and her "career" will be destroyed!
2003-05-28 02:03:15 PM
I saw this movie already... when it was called "Valley Girl".
2003-05-28 02:04:08 PM
Wow. I'm 31 and completely uncool: I've never heard of that song.
2003-05-28 02:04:20 PM
sofaking right. :P

she cute, but canadian. is there anything that canadians can't do?!?!
2003-05-28 02:04:49 PM
And just how many times has a plot like this been done before? Sheesh. Hollywood is indeed out of ideas.
2003-05-28 02:06:18 PM

I'm 27, uncool, and unfortunately I have heard the song.

I recommend just moving on and not thinking too much about it....
2003-05-28 02:06:51 PM
Hollywood/music crossovers almost never work. Haven't we learned anything from Cool as Ice? As far as this pop-music trend is concerned, I hope it crashes and burns very soon. I would do anything for a classic rock revival.
2003-05-28 02:07:11 PM
There's a whole sleu of things Canadians can't do;

Walk upright for more than a few steps
Master the intracacies of fire
Legally drive a car
Keep their pants on

But when it comes right down to it, they're cute, they're furry, and they taste great when cooked over an open flame.
2003-05-28 02:07:12 PM

anyone think that this will ACTUALLY be ANY good?
Well, who knows, Rob Zombie is a Writer/Dirrector now...
2003-05-28 02:07:17 PM
I'm proud to say my seven-year-old daughter hates that song.
2003-05-28 02:07:34 PM
i'm not sure if it's physically possible, but i think i just puked INTO my stomach. PUKED IN TERROR!!
2003-05-28 02:07:43 PM
Sounds like it's just a gender-reversed version of "Pretty In Pink." But I'll bet the soundtrack won't be half as cool.
2003-05-28 02:07:44 PM
Say the word "about" without it coming out "aboot"?

Ok, I admit it. All my knowledge of our neighbors from the north comes from South Park: The Movie

Maybe they could add another chapter to American Music, one where heroin addicted Joe comes back from the dead and smashes Avril over the head with a guitar.
2003-05-28 02:09:03 PM
SofaKing: re:!

Exactly...she's a smokin' hottie....she comes across as this tough chick, but she's prolly a virgin who would be up for anything in the sack.....DOUBLE!!!!

For unleashing the following musical acts on America, Canada is truly a state supporter of terrorism:

1) Shania Twain (Timmons, Ont)
2) Celine Dion (Montreal)
3) Rush (Toronto)
4) The Guess Who (Winnipeg)
5) Red Rider/Tom Cochrane (Vancouver)
6) Alanis Morrissette (Toronto)
7) Avril Lavigne (Napanee, Ont): The new princess of Canadian awfulness
8) Sum 41
9) Nickleback (Calgary/Vancouver)
10) Gino Vanelli (Montreal)
11) Corey Hart (Montreal)
12) Bryan Adams
13) Bare Naked Ladies
14) Sara McLaughlin (so sleepy, Halifax, NS)
15) Joni Mitchell (sleepy squared)
16) Alanah Miles
17) Loverboy
18) Triumph
19) Snow (the "Informer" caucasian raggae guy)
20) Bachman-Turner Overdrive

Minor jangle-pop sensation and R.E.M. knockoff 54-40 is okay ... great name for a Canadian band, anyway.
2003-05-28 02:09:26 PM
oh fark i'm gonna kill myself, hasn't Prince already done this?..
2003-05-28 02:09:30 PM
And just how many times has a plot like this been done before? Sheesh. Hollywood is indeed out of ideas.

Sad thing is that same old "upstairs/downstairs" love story won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1997 (Titanic).

"Like OMG Avril soooo Rulez, Like she is sooo kewl.. she's soo punkish and talinted..Don't be da hatas. Sk8r B0i will rule!! LOL Avril I luv u!!!!!!"

SofaKing - "!"

Ok, so I would definitely do her for hours and hours with no end, until she begged me for the respite of a sweet sweet sunrise.

But the movie is gonna be dumb.
