You said "Shatner" twice.

If Shatner stars in it, it will be a perfect storm of awesome

James Kirk was his best role. I'm glad to see the movie will focus mostly on that.

William Shatner to helm new documentary film about the life of William Shatner

I just worry that this director may not fully understand his subject.

To be fair, Paramount did kind of screw Shatner for STV. It was supposed to be this big, action packed adventure and Paramount gave him no money. Their reasoning was that STII and IV were HUGE hits and were made cheaply. Never mind that in one 70% of the movie is on a ship bridge while the other was filmed in contemporary times. Shat did a pretty good job I thought for the Tek-War movies.

Did he negotiate his salary for the documentary?

I think he was in an episode of The Twilight Zone back in the 60's, but I can't remember him doing much from that point forward.

Rumored title of the film:

I seem to remember him as the guest star on an episode of "Police Squad!" in Color. I think he did some game shows, too.

I assume this will be about 100 minutes of Shatner looking at the camera and laughing.

I think the great thing about Shatner is that he knows this, and kinda plays off it. He doesn't ever seem to take himself too seriously.

He is also the co-executive producer, according to TFA. Is Shat related to Tyler Perry or something?

It was scary how closely that film resembled my own Trek life.

I've been watching all the StarTrek movies lately, starting with the Motion Picture. I finally got to 5 the other night. It had been a long time since i've seen it and it probably wasn't as bad as people say. I didn't really remember it anyway, except for Shatner climbing a mountain at some point.

What a terrible movie. The whole thing absolutely sucked. From beginning to end it was such a mess.

Fortunately 6 was pretty damn good, so I had that to look forward to.

i think V is decent. First of all, it addresses a question that needed to be answered... "what does Kirk think about God"?

Did you watch the new director's cut of The Motion Picture, or did you watch the crap theatrical cut?

Because I actually liked The Motion Picture once I saw the director's cut. MUCH better. They actually finished the movie and it works.

It's still slow, but it doesn't suck as much as it used to.

Goddamnit, this makes me want to go back and watch all of Boston Legal again.

I just did that last year.

Director's cut. It was very good.

I can't imagine why they let Shatner direct 5.
