Matt rules.
2003-05-27 04:48:39 AM

Wow, I feel like a kid again. Matt did you have all these on tape or something? ;)
2003-05-27 10:13:04 AM

Great job.
2003-05-27 10:24:22 AM
Excellent work. I saw that Freshen-Up gum in a candy store recently... haven't seen it in years.
2003-05-27 10:26:17 AM
In related news, has reported record profits at the close of May after billing 5,000 GB of traffic to!

Hats off to Matt! If you guys only knew the type of bandwidth strain (and $$$) it take to put something like this out, especially after being FARKED, it'd make your head spin!
2003-05-27 11:14:20 AM
Every time I see the Encyclopedia Britannica guy, I want to punch him in the face.
2003-05-27 01:13:47 PM
well done!
2003-05-27 01:28:26 PM
Not sure I would waste my bandwidth on this. (Flame war: GO!)
2003-05-27 04:13:42 PM

As always, stellar job... you rock!

One comment... you should put the year of the commertial on the main thumbs page...

"Simon says go longer and faster. And when you do, you'll be the master."

That XE logo looks like a bad ICQ logo.
2003-05-27 09:56:51 PM
There's two commericals I would LOVE to have:

1) The "I learned it by watching YOU." anti-drug PSA.

2) The "I sort glass, that's my job" ad.
2003-05-28 05:48:33 AM
Was C3PO serial made with real C3PO ?
2003-05-28 05:52:34 AM
Can't believe I did that. Cereal, not serial. Idiot.
2003-05-28 05:53:30 AM
ahhhhh...the Doublemint twins...I've missed them so much!
2003-05-28 05:55:32 AM
Damn.. I remember all this stuff from my Childhood. Smurfs Pasta... Masters of the Universe... now if I could only buy big league chew, I'd be in business.
2003-05-28 05:56:12 AM
Hooray for Matt! Matt does it again!

Now if you could get a hold of that Energizer commercial with that Australian football player Jacko ("It'll suprise ya! The new Energizer! Oy!"), you would be the supreme master of all that is cool!
2003-05-28 06:04:05 AM
Those powerade pop-ups are the only cool pop-ups I've ever seen. Ever. Holy crap.
2003-05-28 06:06:10 AM
I'm gonna go with Snowlick on that.

Also, I remember that Zelda commercial being much cooler when I was a kid. Seriously, I don't remember Bozo the Clown doing a spot for that game. Maybe there was a different commercial.
2003-05-28 06:09:31 AM
I knew someone would have info on the Britannica kid.

2003-05-28 06:11:05 AM
Not to thread jack, but my coworker is sound asleep next to me. Any ideas on how to mess with her?
2003-05-28 06:13:19 AM
Utter_bastard:- Playing with the clocks is always a good one. Computer, watch, and anything else she can see. Make her think it's hometime or something.
2003-05-28 06:14:03 AM
Utter_bastard: Put her hand in warm water
2003-05-28 06:15:11 AM
I think I will just set up the Britannica ad on her pc on an infinite loop.

I loved the Atari one.
Play the most advanced video games!

Hey Matt XE, whats the address of the Easy Video you went to???
/just curious

Am I the only person who think that it's slightly disturbing for the McNuggets to have a personality and that Ronald is being friendly to them.

Throwing themselves into BBQ sauce and all that, were we ever sure that they weren't Lemming McNuggets?
2003-05-28 06:35:24 AM
AWWWW. Nothing beats long pages of code. FORLORN!
2003-05-28 06:41:56 AM
Heh, only now do I realize how messed up that Legend of Zelda commercial really was...
2003-05-28 06:43:58 AM
I certainly remember that Simon commercial with that "cool" new wave band and the Colgate pump commercial.
Then there's that Pantene commercial commercial with Kelly LeBrock where she goes, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful." Gotta love it!
2003-05-28 06:46:40 AM
Speaking of Jell-O Pudding, so they even make pudding pops anymore? Gawd, how I miss those...
2003-05-28 06:52:08 AM
I want a spacefood stick
2003-05-28 07:33:44 AM
The kid who had a report due on space?

I completely agree. I gotta know where you got all of these. This is as good as the link to the Nickelodean tv shows available for download. You have some great stuff here Matt. Props to you for offering this.
2003-05-28 07:42:50 AM
AMAZING! First time ever I decided to click-through on the ads to show support.

Yeah, I know, I'm a jerk that way.
2003-05-28 07:51:33 AM
What, no farkin' Medic Alert?
2003-05-28 07:52:46 AM
Gee it would be nice if the page loaded in Mozilla, rather than flashing a screen that it black and white a thousand times a secont causing me to have a seizuklsa;as kl ; kl;'43'#$#$$$$$############################################################### #########################
2003-05-28 07:54:07 AM
Pudding Pops were my favorite at one time. Funny how products you once like mysteriously disappear and you havint even noticed til someone mentions it again. Sad.
2003-05-28 07:58:13 AM

I just got a popup from XE that had a guy that looked like an agent of the matrix, just standing there, and there was audio that kept saying "drink more... drink more... drink more..."

And down at the bottom was a link to

At least the occasional popup is clever or funny!
2003-05-28 08:01:58 AM
Wow look at how much watchamacallit bars have changed over the years. The package used to be shaped like a gum package with the little folds at the end, and the candy bar is all lumpy and square. The modern watchamacallit comes in a regular plastic candy wrapper and the surface of the bar is smooth.

I wonder if they taste different too?
2003-05-28 08:03:24 AM
Sorry Sswift, I use Opera, and don't get the popups. But I did get to sign up for 1045 free hours of the All New AOL 8.0!!!11!L!

2003-05-28 08:07:16 AM
I use Mozilla and normally wouldn't get the popups either, but was forced to use IE instead because the site would just reload a thousand times a second with Mozilla instead of displaying the page.
2003-05-28 08:18:05 AM
IE users, one word for ya: Freesurfer.

I haven't seen a popup in months.

2003-05-28 08:26:16 AM

Like, totally awesome.

Anyone else notice how Peanut Butter Captain Crunch has changed over the past 10-15(rough estimate) years? I dont remember it cutting the roof of my mouth as much as it does now.

I recently made the change to Reese's Puffs. Not as sharp.

/hopes the Captain Crunch people don't come after me

IE users, one word for ya: Freesurfer

Even better, use Mozilla
It has a simple & effective built-in popup killer.
