I knew a guy who went to Taiwan to teach English and ended up with a job as a host, AKA "tallish white guy to show up in bars for Taiwanese women to hit on." Seriously. Sit in a bar all night and have women buy you drinks, you don't even have to go home with them (he claimed he never did).

He eventually quit and came back to the states. all those late nights of drinking were starting to catch up with him.
