Actually, Michael is improving. Just before being released from the hospital last week, doctors upgraded his condition from serious to just plain bizarre.

<--- looks like a mat damion or whatever his name is

I have trouble associating the word 'serious' with Michael Jackson. Ok, maybe in the phase "Michael Jackson is SERIOUSly in need of psychological help."

I'm just waiting for the "Meat vs Vegan" debate to start up.

*Slathers AI on his steak.*

2003-05-26 01:40:55 PM
A1, not AI... I'm not going to have a super-intelligent steak. I find it hard to eat things when they're trying to challenge me to a game of Chess, or take over the world with its robot underlings...

*sigh*

Mmmmm.... vegetarianism

I feel like an idiot for being foolishly, deleriously happy about this. Reason: They're not going to incinerate the cute little baby cows.........

...so that they can thereby end up in steak form on my plate when they get older.

I guess I really am a walking dichotomy.

2003-05-26 01:43:21 PM
What a coincidence...I'm making my trademarked "Mad Cow" burgers on the grill today. You take some hot salsa, mix it with the ground beef, patty it up,and it comes out great on the grill.

2003-05-26 01:43:36 PM
Off topic, but I'm wondering what dude's "Swedish touch" is that's so different. Hmm.

Micheal Jackson and Mat Damion? Who's more sorry... someone who spells these names wrong, or someone who notices they are spelled wrong? Nevermind.

Yes, but what about Michael Jackson?

/grammar nazi.

Errr... Last I heard you could only test for BSE after the animal had been killed, meaning those little baby cows aren't going to get a chance to grow up to become steak form.

Micheal vs. Michael = Grammar nazi?

explain

2003-05-26 01:51:40 PM
Where will they put the dead bodies of baby cows ? I'll eat em.

2003-05-26 01:52:31 PM
GCD...

PORK = Trichinosis Parasite

Chicken = Salmonella

Fish = umm.. ..umm... genital herpes!!

Ok fine, fish is OK.. Oh wait I think you can get that giant worm that grows the length of your intestines from eating fish.. nevermind fish is bad..

2003-05-26 01:53:45 PM
Bobette: I know some really hot vegetarians, but it is a darned shame that they always judge us carnosaurs as being evil asshats. It's a pity because I have nothing against them. (especially if they themselves are hot!)

2003-05-26 01:54:26 PM
How do you call somebody who likes to eat vegetarians ..?

Vegetariantarian ?
Pimp ?

Any food or consumable liquid can potentially harbor something deadly that will kill you.

All I ask of my government in this area is to keep food vendors honest so that my chances of getting killed by what I purchase to eat is kept to a minimum.

Bobette - I'll take that as a compliment ;-)

LipSpinach - I don't judge meateaters.

Fish = mercury poisoning.

Apparently Michael Jackson might be close to bankruptcy. I will be first in line when they start auctioning chimps.

2003-05-26 02:10:27 PM
Elite-mrp: Trichinosis isn't really bad in the states. Freezing kills the cysts and worms, and there are federal inspectors who check out the pork, and I'm fairly sure there's a third thing, though I can't remember what it is. I think it might be cooking.

2003-05-26 02:14:58 PM
Damn the Fark personals. That little bastard in the corner creeps me out. *Turns images off*

2003-05-26 02:15:35 PM
dunker - the only outliving you will do is if you buy only organic (or better yet, grow your own organic) food - otherwise, you are just as toxic as the rest of us.

I've known alot of vegetarian/vegans who have poisoned themselves with sugar products and processed foods. The pancreas, kidneys and liver just lay down and went to sleep.

I would love to get on either extreme side of this debate, but the fact is, I only eat organic fed meat once or twice a week, and the rest of the time is pretty much as much organic as I can get, but at least fresh veggies and fruits, and a minimum of processed food (unless I do the processing).

I am not saying this is the best diet, nor am I saying it is good or bad. I am saying that this diet gives me the best nutrition for my body and the most energy to get me thru each day without falling into a naptime coma.

/overtalking again. I need to stop.

Elite-mrp

Fish = Mercury, + a host of other heavy metals if it's caught locally. Overfishing, depletion of earths natural resources and rape of the Oceans if it's salt water. Internal parasites, and bacteria if it's not cooked properly.

I'd eat Canadian beef cattle anytime. (Cooked of course, but still rare)

If not, do you know your nickname is slang for gentleman's tight underwear ?

Dude!
YOu know how to make fish sticks??

Cool.

2003-05-26 02:20:16 PM
Argh -
I'm a pro-organic vegetarian who eats well. ...and to all those who boo-hoo organic food don't talk unless you know anything about it. The outliving thing, though, was just speculation.

I like to think of eating well as investing in the future... counting on the ability to walk and have sex when I'm 70.

:)

2003-05-26 02:20:48 PM
Mmmmm, vegeterians indeed. I may be biased, but there are a lotta hot veg-heads. ;)

I have mixed feelings on the news. I'm glad that the US media was, like usual, making a giant-ass problem out of nothing. However, the cows are gonna die one way or another, and that's bad news for me. We've got guns and swords and bombs and giant mecha suits to defend ourselves, so why don't the cows have anything? I think I shall take on four and train them in the ways of ninja...

*shifty eyes*

there that should liven this thread up a little.

Cool then! 70 is good. Hope that is a long time away for ya. (It's not that far from me so I am shooting for 90)

I thought gentlemen wore boxers?

Is an infected cow a Mad Cow or is it a cow with Mad Cow disease? Is it a PC thing, like when you can't call an Autistic kid "an Autistic kid," rather you should call him a "a kid with Autism?"

One case... shame they had to destroy 5 herds of cattle to be sure. Canadian farmers are having a hard enough time with the massive drought we've had over the past few years.

Of course, if the Canadian government legalized marijuana and let the farmers grow that instead, we'd be up and buckets over the rest. Let's hear it for cash crops.

Like any government in the world is going to do anything in response to this article. The US, Australia, and all those other countries were looking for any excuse to close down the importation of Canadian Beef just so they can protect their own beef industry. Free trade at its best. Watch as the US beef industry drags the ban on Canuck Chuck for years, and all because of 1 burger-on-4-hooves that never even entered the food chain. And I've heard the American farmer (who only lived in Canada) was importing American feed for the cow, which is where it most likely got the BSE.

but I'm not bitter, really.
