Gooey tar balls seen near Pensacola Beach on Florida's Gulf coast

Look, I understand the NY/NJ guidos love our beaches here in FL, but that's a pretty rude statement.

There is no oil plume! It is a naturally occurring formation of unicorn feces.

Well, shouldn't this at least keep everyone safe from sharks?

You probably won't need a bigger boat.

The Executive Director of Santa Rosa Country, Fl said today, "At this point, I wish FEMA was in charge." Nice.

Could this be a bigger disaster?

/son of a biatch I should not have asked that...

Quick! Spray more dispersant!

I am kind of curious as to when this thing will finally be over.

/Looking forward to some cheap real estate along the panhandle in a few years ^.^

The sad thing is, the way BP is running things, I can honestly see that happening.

RIP, sugar sands of Destin.

I went once as a preteen... always wanted to go back, but my dad hates the beach, so we never did. We went to Joe's Crab Shack one night, and the next night took our leftovers out for a picnic on the beach. It was awesome.

Building off James Cameron's comments regarding the oil spill, I'm wondering if we shouldn't send remote-controlled subs around to ALL the off-shore rigs to see how clean the operations are in general...

to be fair, the keys don't have any real beaches

If you ever go back try not to get your seafood at nasty chain restaurants usually found next to a highway. Maybe AJ's. Good times.

But they do have some really nice segments of reef. If the oil reaches the Keys it will do a lot more damage than it would by hitting a beach in the gulf. Most people don't have any clue since they haven't had the opportunity to dive places like Molasses Reef.

Great. Another AGW denier thread. When will you morans learn?

Compare temperatures in North America today to what they were 5 or 6 months ago. The increase in temperature is staggering.

They should all be on standby awaiting full inspection and ultimately closure. Face it, BP and the USA just killed the Gulf of Mexico. It will be a dead zone for decades.

It's cool. Mexico already eradicated life in the gulf once. There is nothing left to kill. Any dead birds and fish these envirohippies "find" are planted there to make the oil industry look bad. There are no animals there to kill!

/honestly, it's amazing how quickly we managed to recover from an apocalypse

You've figured me out. Congratulations. I shall retreat now to my underwater doom-lair.

BP could always just claim sovereign immunity.

/like Mexico did when they slimed us then refused to pay a dime
//everyone is suing BP

I am really overjoyed at Florida's misfortune. I have been hoping something like this would happen for a while.
