cxl9: Everyone hoping to see this person sodomized and murdered in prison may well be disappointed. I'll go on record here predicting that (a) prior to conviction he will be relatively well-treated [for being confined in a South American jail, that is] (b) which will then be followed by a short period of imprisonment [a year or two], (c) after which he'll be transferred to a prison in another country to serve out an abbreviated sentence. He will not die in a Peruvian prison. Go ahead, bet me Farkers.

spleef420: cxl9: He will not die in a Peruvian prison.

maybe not at the hands of Peruvian authorities...but he's fair game to the inmates.

He's way too white to be in a South American prison.

iirc the dad of the latest victim is relatively wealthy and connected. so i doubt this guy will have an easy time in prison.

snowcircle: I thought to be considered a serial killer you had to have an M.O. Just killing multiple people isn't serial killing. Killing multiple people all in the same fashion = serial killing.

According to Wiki:

"A serial killer is a person who murders three or more people[1][2] over a period of more than thirty days, with a "cooling off" period between each murder, and whose motivation for killing is largely based on psychological gratification."

contrapunctus: Pumpernickel bread: He's definitely going inside, and by the look of him, he could probably get in with the Aryan Brotherhood if he were doing time in the states. Unfortunately for him, I don't think AB has a presence in the Peruvian penal system.

I still think his biggest threat is going to come from the girl's father who has publicly said that Van der Sloot "will pay". Not that a Peruvian prison is going to be much fun, mind you, but Van der Sloot's latest victim comes from a fairly wealthy family.

In South America, everything has its price; especially retribution.

Odds are he won't make it to 25.

In normal circumstances, Van Der Sloot would be able to buy daily protection, and leave jail unscathed (and some peruvian thugs really rich).

However, as you say, he might have messed with the wrong girl this time. A bunch of $$$ and a bit of nationalism thrown in ("you really want a !#@$@#$@4 euroboy killing our women? Here, have a bag of cash") and this kid is getting shanked.

2010-06-03 10:01:37 PM
Van der Sloot?

Isn't he the guy from Dawson's Creek?

2010-06-03 10:02:00 PM
For $250,000 he'll agree to look for the real killer. As someone upthread pointed out, the victim's father is rich and money will most definitely buy you a corpse in one of Peru's prisons. If he pays enough it's almost guaranteed that poor old Urine von Sloot Stain will be put in a universe of pain before he dies.

Plasticizer: I think he's an unlucky kid who can't calculate the proper dosage of roofies to give to his dates. And he has anger issues when he realizes that he has killed another one.

He's in Peru, coming from Columbia I believe, it probably a little bit of the ole Peruvian marching powder, and not roofies this time.

For F*cks sake, one of the premier pieces of evidence against him, didn't even fit on his hand. I'm getting really tired of all the white folk trying to hold the black man down. It is sickening to me that there are so many racists in this beautiful world of ours.

gas giant: Dwight_Yeast: What I'm saying is, he may be many things but he's not a serial killer.

So in order for one to be considered a serial killer, they have to be good at it?

He's killed at least three times = serial killer

No to be a serial killer it has to be premeditated and organized. You have to at least try to cover your tracks.

He's an impulse killer.

Who's the third victim?

I am not sure how requesting money for disclosing information is extortion? He is not saying that if they fail to pay him that he will do something harmful, he is selling information information that he possesses and others desire.

If selling information is illegal than every consultant, expert witness, tax adviser, stock broker, attorney, etc... could be charged with the offense.

I can see how it might be fraud or theft if he fails to provide the promised, but not extortion.

I have infinitely more respect for the legal system than does that recidivist thug Simpson. If anyone "shiat all over the justice system", it was him. The son of a biatch wrote a book in which he basically admitted the murders and therefore made a farce of the murder trial and the legal system generally. He was easily found civilly liable for the deaths. It is sickening there are so many race-baiters in this world of ours trying to bring race into a dialogue where it doesn't belong.

By the way, he's no longer a running back, you may call him Inmate 02648927.

A serial killer can be an impulse killer, doesn't require premeditation, need not be organized, and doesn't need to cover his tracks.

All he has to do is kill people repeatedly, with a cooling-off period in between. All that other stuff is just commonly associated with the practice, but with an inverted view of the causality.

If a person is disorganized, and doesn't cover up his tracks, he generally won't rack up much of a body count. Check out Angel Resendiz, though. He was sloppy, opportunistic, disorganized, and never did much to hide his victims.

2010-06-03 10:21:15 PM
Personally I don't think he killed either one. I think the first one had an overdose and he called his father for help. His father wanted to protect the family name and had the body dumped at sea. This one in Peru probably another overdose, the body was fully clothed and just had a few abrasions on it, but this time he had nobody to help him so he just split. But who is the other that gas giant is refering to?

Well he didn't manage to screw up hiding the first one. It seems pretty clear that he didn't really have things well planned out when he killed the girl in Peru, as he left her body in his room.

What I'm saying is, he may be many things but he's not a serial killer.

Many people think his father helped him dispose of Natalee. This kid's cocky, but I'm not too sure how smart he is.

The idea that the Natalee's death was anything other than a murder is patently offensive to someone who lost a friend in the same way. Her killer is serving 34 years.

not reading the comments to see if this was mentioned first, but out of the 3 articles i've read today (including this TSG article), it fails to mention that he killed a man in peru BEFORE he killed the woman, and the woman was (according to the original story a few days ago) only killed to throw cops off.

what happened to that? every article now is saying "he was the prime suspect of killing a girl 5 years ago. and now a prime suspect of killing a girl in peru. definitely nobody else though. certainly didnt kill anybody else between the two girls. nope."

wtf?

*sigh* I won't go to great lengths to explain to you the many, many contributions the U.S. has made to the world at large. I'll suffice to say that, if it so seems that the majority of us are as stupid as you allude, we still have more competence on our East Coast than you do in all of Canada.

I just hope this is it and he gets locked up for life.

As far as him disclosing the way Natalie died, and the location of her body, I have to say that even though I am against torture of any kind, this guy makes a strong case for it.

If I were a relative of the Holloways, after this conviction, I'd fly down there, pay off the warden (which would certainly cost less than $250K), and spend some time with this guy in his cell. With a car battery and some wires hooked to his nads.

Why split hairs about him being a serial killer? He was at both locations so in my mind, he is a killer in at least one death. The Holloway death may have been a accident but he handled it wrong as did the Aruba authorities. Also, Daddy had a hand in keeping this little prick from recieving justice. South America has different ways of dealing with murderers, so I expect to hear about him hanging himself in a cell or cutting his wrists. Good Riddance fu@ckhead.

I wonder what happened with the Peruvian girl? If I am ever lucky enough to have a young lady accompany me to my hotel room, all I'd be thinking about is how intensely enjoyable the sex is going to be (for me, anyway). I'm certainly not thinking about killing her. Unless, of course, she laughed at the size of my penis.

They can't get him on extortion unless he demanded money from someone for information with the threats. If he gives them info he can claim the info was given to him by a second party and the info is hearsay info. They have no evidence to convict him in the Holloway case so it's all hearsay.
