I imagine the waiting room with Rue McClanahan, Gary Coleman, and Dennis Hopper could have some interesting conversations.

Estelle in 08
Bea in 09
Rue in 10
Betty in 11

Coincidence? I think not.

When Rue had her stroke, Betty White said she sent her flowers with a card.

The card had a joke message indicating she hoped Rue would die so she'd be the last surviving Golden Girl.

At the time both thought it was hilarious. I am sure Betty is very sad today.

Considering the show was about 4 older women, it surprisingly attracted a diverse audience.

2010-06-03 12:20:17 PM
So much for the Facebook campaign I was going to start to petition for her to host "SNL."

2010-06-03 12:20:21 PM
I wonder what the other submissions were.

Any TF wanna help a curious liter?

Hmmm mine was similar. Oh well.

Was going to try again with "Betty White decapitates Rue McLanahan. Receives the Quickening and the Prize."

They weren't that great. This was probably the best. BTW, posting TF stuff for liters is frowned upon by the FARQ, even if its not often enforced.

Betty White was great on SNL a couple months ago.

Todd Bridges and Betty White will be starring in a new buddy comedy. It will chronicle the wacky adventures of a street-wise rapscallion (Bridges) with a penchant for flashy bling, and his sweet adoptive grandmother (White) who is bravely overcoming the odds while recovering from a series of TIA's. Look for "Golden Strokes" on Fox this Fall!

:-(

/Would have guessed that she would be the last remaining Golden Girl.

Rose finally got tired of the headboard noises from the other room.

I hope she remembered to throw away the "Cheesecake with D-Con" recipe card.

No one should be surprised. Blanche always liked it on her back.

Have we established that Betty White has killed the other cast members in order her gnarled hands on the treasure?

I know it has been suspected for a while, but this should be the concrete evidence that has been lacking.

I saw her on Broadway in Wicked. I always had a soft spot for her. I'm not sure why the Golden Girls are so unironically hip.

Reminds me of how Waylon Jennings was with Buddy Holly and told him he hoped his plane would crash. I can't even imagine what that felt like later.

Well at least we'll be spared from a bunch of obnoxious douchers trying to turn Rue McClanahan into a meme after Betty White kicks it.

2010-06-03 12:26:48 PM
Just watch Betty White on a talk show yesterday, and they showed a picture of her and Rue, and said she's doing great.Seems like anytime some actor gets sick, they say they're fine, and they die pretty quickly. If I'm, say Annette Funicello , I'd pray they'd say I'm near death.

2010-06-03 12:26:50 PM
She was only 76? That means she was only 51 when the Golden Girls started. I thought her character was supposed to be in her 60s.

The_Sponge: Celebrities die in threes, blah blah.

Or maybe they're just constantly dying and we're just constantly wrapping them up in sensible packages, looking for order in a chaotic universe.
