There is a blue bus that runs from in front of Ben and Jerrys to GeorgeTown, it only cost 25 cents to ride. I say its across the street from Ben And Jerrys because thats near the DuPont Circle Metro. Its actually at the corner of the 4 way there past Ben and Jerrys across the street. I just wanted to tell you if you were still considering meeting at GeorgeTown. Really, their is no Metro to Georgetown. You can either catch a cab or do the blue bus. The blue bus also runs to the Hotel that is right close to the Metro at Roselyn. Those are your closest two Metro stops I believe.

And for those of you that dont know, DuPont circle is chock full of men and ladies "play for the same team", so to speak. If that's your speed, have a blast. Personally, I wont be there.

2003-05-20 09:49:45 PM
Insert the word "who" somewhere in the above post in order for it to make sense.

2003-05-21 02:18:08 AM
Sevah, you're not joining us just bc we're going to be @ DuPont circle?

2003-05-21 02:18:55 AM
Its no fun if I have to RSVP in advance, I rarely do things more than a day or two in advance and that especially includes going out to drink.

Personally, I wont be who there.

Now that really doesn't make sense.

2003-05-21 02:24:19 AM

2003-05-21 02:25:21 AM
If I still lived in Maryland I would so go to this.

2003-05-21 02:29:12 AM
Sends LordCrank sugar filled booze

Have fun ya'll!

2003-05-21 03:08:07 AM
Bah. Silly homophobe(s). There's plenty of straight action, too.

2003-05-21 03:09:36 AM
Have fun there then, I wish I could show up. But I know noone here.

2003-05-21 03:30:35 AM
I note that while he wants an email RSVP, no email address is apparent. Or am I just missing something?

...And you'll continue knowing no one there.

I was going to go, but now I see there's a bunch of people in the area that "play for the same team." Well, that changes everything. I was gonna wear my Mets hat, but all these people playing for the same team, they might get offended, that might not be their team. What team is it? Will I be able to get a jersey or hat in time? Am I gonna be in trouble if I'm not on the team? This confuses me, I don't know if I can make it now. I hope that doesn't mean we're going to a sports bar, and do we all have to root for the same team?
Let's just all go to some dark quiet place that plays dance music and men and women feel comfortable with each other, do they have one of those places? Too much emphasis on teams. Or is it a Survivor reference?

JmBd: As long as you are wearing a "Hello My Name Is:" sticker, you don't need to know anyone.

Isomorphic: His email address is on the page, only without the @ to fool spambots and farkers: sfrazer at io dot com

Is it just me or does it seem like a lot of people have better things to do than party?

I'll be there for sure.

2003-05-21 08:46:56 AM
My favorite name for Dupont Circle is the Fruit Loop hehehe

I really hope no one here is too much of a homophobe to go to Dupont Circle...that would just be sad

And, I just need to say again that I hate all of you people that made this party happen this particular weekend...I live inside the beltway, god dammit, but I won't be around that weekend...grrrr...

"Tastes like pizza..." Does anyone here know a guy named Brandt Maxwell? Or the BBS "Metropolis?" "Tastes like Pizza" is sort of an inside joke amongst an obscure bunch of geeks I used to know. Just wondering.

2003-05-21 09:25:02 AM
Isomorphic - I think your right. I was going to email him but where is the email?

2003-05-21 09:37:44 AM
Again, the email address is sfrazer at io dot com

I will be in Dupont Circle on the 7th; but I have to attend a party at Buffallo Billiards. Which, btw, would be a cool place to hang out for those of you that are going to the DC Fark gathering. ;-)

Buffalo Billiards 1330 19th Street.

Why the heck is DuPont Circle even an issue? There are plenty of straight hipsters in that area. If you really want to see gay people, go to 17th Street. There are plenty of straight clubs (dare I say "meat markets") in the area. The Big Hunt, Lulu's, Mad Hatter's are just a few. And hey, Mad Hatter's is conveniently located next to Camelot, a straight strip club for those who need to see live b00bies. ;)

At any rate, Pizzeria Paradiso makes some killer eats. They make pizza the Italian way: the bread is the focal point, and the toppings are fresh but not smothering.

I'll be there Friday but might be AWOL the rest of the time. So show up, people! It'll be fun!

2003-05-21 10:10:14 AM
Whatever happened to the Chas. WV party?

2003-05-21 10:27:42 AM
i live on the notorious 17th street mentioned above. in... GASP! ... dupont circle! eeeeek! i am a 42-year-old straight woman. exceptionally kinky, yes, but straight. there are plenty of us in dupont. lots. kinky and straight. so fear not. unless you're afraid of exceptionally kinky straight women.

2003-05-21 10:48:29 AM
I don't understand why everyone is so worried about how gay the locals are.

Don't you know that gay men *ALWAYS* have hot friend-girls?

Notice the "always" is in caps and between asterisks.

2003-05-21 10:59:05 AM
isn't there one in texas coming up in july? does anyone know?

2003-05-21 11:12:18 AM
Hey folks. As has been mentioned, the email is sfrazer at io dot com.

The reason I'm looking for RSVP's is because Friday and Saturday dinners require that I tell someone how many people are going to show up. I'd prefer to know that in advance. You are more than welcome to show up without an RSVP, but I cannot guarantee that we will have enough chairs for everyone if that's the case.

Marc, thanks for the information on the blue bus, that'll save a few cab rides for people, I'm sure.

Have fun in DC guys!! I wish I could attend!!

2003-05-21 11:15:40 AM
DAMN IT, DAMN IT, DAMN IT

I knew this would happen! The weekend sounds like fun and I was looking forward to meeting all the DC farkers, but the Mrs. planned something out of town with my family and I didn't know.

Have fun and take pictures. I'll have to hit the next one or meet up separately one by one.

oh no... this is gonna be such a sausage party...

2003-05-21 11:28:19 AM
Other than that one newsreport from Fox a few years back "Gay gangs, out of the closet and on the streets", I haven't noticed a great deal of threat from the gay population. I lived on 18th street in Adams Morgan, about a ten minute walk from Dupont, and the only danger I ever saw in the area was from the swarming rat population.

2003-05-21 11:34:12 AM
Good luck with a large group at the Brickskellar. That place sucks if you have more than 6.

I'm on the fence as to whether I will go or not. Kind of scared of the potential lameness.

2003-05-21 11:35:16 AM
Oh, I'm sorry for the way that my comment came across - I wont be there because I've got plans already to be somewhere else (best friend is getting married). It totally has nothing with what it sounded like.

2003-05-21 11:44:16 AM
wonderful, that's my b-day. i'll be registered at target and dillards if anyone want's to get me a bday present, ps, i have lots of animals so pet supplies are welcomed. lol.

2003-05-21 11:51:19 AM
I am back in DC for the summer and would hit it up, but I will be in NYC that weekend...im a dick anyway, so your not going to miss out.

As far as Dupont goes, if you are a homophobe you should stay away. If you are a normal person, there should be no problems. ::gasp:: oh no, not gheys! haha...

As a small aside, Dupont Circle is named after a famous Navy Admiral. Rear Admiral Dupont to be exact. Now thats some foreskin, i mean foresight.

Bring one to houston.

2003-05-21 12:05:19 PM
Ok, who's in the 21-26 age range, female, single, and.... wait, this isn't to pick up women is it?

It is to drink beer! Ok... Anyone going in from the College Park area?

2003-05-21 12:52:11 PM
I bet you dorks sit around at these things and just say shiat like "hilarity is ensuing!" and "France surrenders!" and piss your pants thinking you're so goddamned witty.

2003-05-21 01:09:02 PM
IckyMettle You are right. So why don't you come and we'll show you what we mean by "I'd Hit It"

2003-05-21 01:17:06 PM
I lived in DC for 10 years, and this is extra lame.

Pizza Paradisio is good, but why not eat somewhere where there is a great party/drinking atmosphere like J Paul's, Old Glory, Garrett's, Cap City Brewing Company... there are many more.

On Saturday, why not head down to the mall and spread out a couple blankets and relax. Throw a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, whatever. For good measure, sneak some booze out there and have a few cocktails. People can walk to the Smithsonian museums if they want, and check out the monuments easily.

The Brickskellar is very cool because of the massive amounts of beers they have. But it is a laid back, sit down establishment. Why not head into Adams Morgan and jump from bar to bar? Felix, Millie & Al's, Heaven & Hell, The Common Share, Toledo Lounge... and finally.... Dan's Cafe. Where if you order a Beam and coke, they give you a pint of Beam & a coke with a little bucket of ice to make your own drinks...

That's my 2 cents...

2003-05-21 01:43:21 PM
Wedgie Lord, I think I pissed my pants because you're so goddamned witty.

Perfect come back.

IckyMettle, It's best if you don't attend. It would be better to sit in front of your computer and piss and moan about how everyone else sucks. Good luck in life dude.

2003-05-21 02:21:40 PM
I would love to attend, but I'm in shiathole Florida now. Stupid job playing stupid videogames.

As a former DC-ite, getting any sized crowd into an Adams Morgan bar is iffy at best. Squeezing three people into the Common Share is a task on a weekend.

Good luck to you all!

2003-05-21 02:23:00 PM
I assure you, it will not be entirely a sausage party.

I assure you.

/chevy chase (the man, not maryland)

2003-05-21 02:31:19 PM
I hope to be assured Bubbaprog, as one of a handful of Farkettes planning on being there, with bells on even.

2003-05-21 03:55:43 PM
I'm local, interested, and available for this one, but I don't drink and I'm hesitant to be the "odd man" at the party. (I have that problem enough, anyway.) Are any other teetotallers planning to attend?

2003-05-21 04:12:57 PM
Wedgie_Lord: Is that a homosexual reference?

2003-05-21 05:55:35 PM
I don't think any of the parties I've been to have been true sausage parties, but there has been some definate sausage infestation. Usually, the Farkettes that do show up, make up for the abundance of sausage.
