Ya right...
2003-05-19 09:09:55 AM
Let me be the first to say..

"What?? You mean a politician exagerates?? Noooo.."

Not news. Not remotely interesting. Not linkworthy.

Let's not let Fark become the campaign mouthpiece for any political party. Deal?
2003-05-19 09:10:52 AM
Just like Bush identifies with the working class without ever working an honest day in his life.

Come on.
2003-05-19 09:11:06 AM
How come my wife can't be worth half a billion Dollars???? Heck she will not even make me a sandwhich.
2003-05-19 09:11:20 AM
What's his wife made of, anyhow?
2003-05-19 09:12:18 AM
2003-05-19 09:12:20 AM
And yet it's still somehow more plausible than the republican party pretending to give a flying fark about anybody other than giant corporations and the rich white guys who own them.
2003-05-19 09:12:31 AM
Oh please, all politicians pull this crap and they all are quite wealthy.

This not be news, I declare!
2003-05-19 09:12:53 AM
In other news, Ari Fliesher just announced he's quitting as of July.
2003-05-19 09:13:40 AM
I agree with SpaceCoyote, and would add that I think a new category should be added to Fark. Articles like this would be labeled [Politics].
2003-05-19 09:14:10 AM
What's his wife made of, anyhow?

2003-05-19 09:16:37 AM
Of course he doesn't identify with them, does anyone in Washington? No. But, at least he's trying to help them.

They're called "Cadillac Liberals."
2003-05-19 09:19:10 AM
You think with all that cash Kerry would try to improve his asthetics a bit with some collagen injections and loose some of that chin man! A presidential candidate should not make kids cry when they see him! He looks like Herman Munster for shiats sake!
2003-05-19 09:20:13 AM
Well, at least he'll be more immune to corruption if and when he gets lots and lots of power.

Sorry. I slay myself sometimes.
2003-05-19 09:21:42 AM
Hey BRETTSKY - Help them how??????????? Sure, right....he'd move into a minority neighborhood, take unemployment, do odd jobs just to pay the bills. He's done a hell of lot for all us .

2003-05-19 09:24:15 AM
SpaceCoyote Democrat right? Am I right? Right right right? Huh? Am I right?

Shut the hell up. It sure as hell is news.

Were you biatching about political mouthpieces when the last two dozen "Bush is a dumbass!" articles were posted as news. No? I didn't think so.

Both parties are full of crap. Look into what the Libertarian party stands for before you nail your feet to one side or the other of what promises to be the most long winded presidential campaign ever.
2003-05-19 09:25:25 AM
I just love how Theresa Heinz now calls herself Theresa Heinz-Kerry.
2003-05-19 09:26:23 AM
Sadly, the south african tart he married has all the Heinz ketchup fortune when a great Pa. Republican, Sen. Heinz, went down in plane crash.

then she goes and marries that blown-dry himbo democrat.

2003-05-19 09:26:26 AM
He'll never be president. His wife's a nut job.
2003-05-19 09:26:40 AM
He might not be poor himself, but I think we can all agree he'll do more for the poor and working class than the jackasses in office now.

Nobody that isn't rich will never make it to the White House anyway. System just isn't set up for it. And now with campaign finance reform being pulled back, the chances of a president that truly identifies with the poor is slim to none.
2003-05-19 09:27:32 AM
Who is this guy ?, why should I care ?
2003-05-19 09:27:51 AM
Reading the article, I don't think any of those farkwads can identify with the working class.

Their great grandparents that built the fortune - sure.
Them - die.
2003-05-19 09:28:55 AM
Who cares? We all know politicians are wealthy. Besides, he'll be out of the race before too long anyhow - with that mug he'll get the quasimodo votes, but thats about it. He's not electable so I'm not going to waste time worrying about it...

Wasn't he in Vietnam or something?
2003-05-19 09:30:18 AM
He also has claimed to be Irish for 30 years, so he could idntify with the Boston voters. Apparently, though, he forgot to ask his parents where they came from.

Doesn't make a difference anyway. His wife is too much of a wild card for other democratic leaders to support. It would also be politically stupid to run another democrat from MA(Home of Dukakis). Democrats have to run a southerner. That is why the Republicans are so alarmed about Edwards.

My money is on Hillary and Edwards. Two slick, and smart candidates. Edwards has raised the most money, I believe, and has the quiet support of Bill Clinton and Terry Mcaulliffe. Hillary knows how to work the political system better than any potential candidate out there. She hasn't announced yet, but with her book coming out and her ability to generate press coverage, I believe she will make an announcement at some point. I would never vote for either of them them, but I believe they will be the next democratic team.
2003-05-19 09:32:08 AM
Nobody that isn't rich will never make it to the White House anyway.

Clinton & Eisenhower were not wealthy men, to name two.
2003-05-19 09:32:31 AM
I live in MA, and Kerry had a fire hydrant moved from in front of his house because he didnt like it. He moved it in front of his neighbors house. (If the average person asked to have a hydrant moved - they would tell you to check your head.)

Also, Kerry had a party at his house for a bunch of rich campaign supporters. He kept everyone on the lawn outside the house, and demanded they use a "port-a-potty" outdoor toilet instead of being allowed to enter the house to use the bathroom indoors.

The guy is a complete pompous ass, and will never even get close to being president.
2003-05-19 09:33:20 AM
Reubeoni: good one.

the joke is going around that if kerry had a dollar for every time he mentioned he is a vietname vet...wait, he does.
2003-05-19 09:34:05 AM
The only thing that I'm confused about is how a rich white guy like this isn't a Republican instead of a Democrat.
2003-05-19 09:34:11 AM
MataHari: That article makes her look like a normal person, not a nut job. It's about time a political spouse has a mind and isn't scared to show it.
2003-05-19 09:37:18 AM
I see from the caption in the article that he's pushing national health insurance...why in the world do we need national health care? Health insurance in the US costs less than cable television. In Germany, 'free' health insurance costs me over $200/month with the good ol' BKK/AKS. And I'm still never sick. And I still have to pay $30 every time I want to get aspirin.
2003-05-19 09:38:38 AM
I dunno, if you people can NOT vote for him because he's "ugly", then I sure as hell CAN because I love Heinz ketchup so much.
2003-05-19 09:39:29 AM

3. Jon S. Corzine (Dem.), Senator, New Jersey

Once upon a time, there was a poor family. The daddy was poor. The mommy was poor. The daughter was poor. The son was poor. The cook was poor. The maid was poor. The butler was poor. The gardner was poor. The driver was poor. The valet was poor. The stablemaster was poor. The pilot was poor. They lived in a run down mansion on top of a big hill. One morning, the cook exclaimed "Oh, my! We are all out of beluga caviar! What ever shall we do?".... and the little boy grew up to run for president. And they lived happily ever after.
2003-05-19 09:40:55 AM
AcornMan, Republicans don't have a lock on wealthy asshats. Look around the Democratic party, you'll see plenty of 'em. The Clintons for example; perhaps not "rich", but they're not trolling for cans to get the deposit, either.
2003-05-19 09:41:42 AM
Rubeoni: the problem here is that everybody expects the Cadillac of health care but we don't want to pay for it. people can't comprehend that everything has a cost and have not experienced rationing, like in other countries. We want our MRI NOW!

and i like your beer thoughts in your profile. we GIs loved authentic german lowenbrau, and loved fresh Bitburger Pils from across the Mosel from our base. and yes, we in the Pfalz drank our beer from .2 and .3 liter stemmed glasses.
2003-05-19 09:41:50 AM

It isn't that I won't vote for a guy who is ugly. Its that most Americans who don't know anything about anything won't vote for an ogre. I don't want to support someone who can't get elected for that reason. I don't want to take any chances of another four years of the current moron.
2003-05-19 09:42:40 AM

What's his wife made of, anyhow?

She's the Half Billion Dollar Woman, a new series on FOX!
2003-05-19 09:45:38 AM
He's just another Bonesman being manipulated into a position of power.

05-19-03 09:26:26 AM MataHari

He'll never be president. His wife's a nut job.

Didn't stop Lincoln.

I just love how Theresa Heinz now calls herself Theresa Heinz-Kerry.

2003-05-19 09:48:14 AM
What we need to realize is that it is not a matter of Republican or Democrat, these 2 parties just feed off of each other getting nothing accomplished...I feel the problem lies with the career politician. From the day a person gets in office, he/she has already started preparing for the next election. What happened to politicians who have actually held real jobs instead of being prepped for office since college? And those who have held real jobs and are not wealthy wind up going in to so much debt, that they spend their time trying to get out of the red. Therefore, nothing can get accomplished because they don't want to offend the wrong people and not get re-elected.
Maybe term limits are the key...Nope, because they would just spend their 2 terms lining their pockets even more. Oh well I guess the answer to this question is Yes--If Pro is the opposite of Con, is Progress the opposite of Congress?
2003-05-19 09:52:24 AM
I like Kerry. So what, he's a rich guy. So were all of the Kennedys. He's probably the brightest guy running in any party this time around. He'll get my vote.

But then, I liked Clinton, and I didn't think the fact that he let that fat intern blow him (and then lied about it) really should have mattered very much to any one but his family. It's not like he had the CIA smuggle cocaine into the US and sold weapons to our enemies to funnel money illegally into a war in central america or anything.

I just love how Theresa Heinz now calls herself Theresa Heinz-Kerry.

From 1995-2003, Theresa referred to herself as Theresa Heinz. Now that her husband is running for president, she is now Theresa Heinz-Kerry. It just shows how much of a fraud she is.

And her husband is even worse. I'd trust Bill Clinton more than Kerry. He has Al Gore's penchant for making up facts of little consequence.
2003-05-19 09:56:40 AM
Anyone who has a wife worth half a billion is a retard for working.

2003-05-19 10:01:29 AM

I think he wife would divorce him if he did not run for President.
2003-05-19 10:02:00 AM
This is why I'm glad we have starving pundits like Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh who struggle to make ends meet just like the working man and can speak with our voice. They know what it's like, so they can call out the evil moneygrubbing democrats backed by the jewish liberal media conspiracy without a shred of hypocrisy
