Sucks for most of you uggos.

I heard it probably has something to do with ugly people having no alibi.

WINNER!!! That made me laugh.

Huggermugger: On the other hand, you're often less likely to be the victim of a crime. I'm so ugly that I can walk through a dimly-lit 7-11 parking lot at 3 AM, without worrying about being raped.

There is something about your screenname that suggests to me that it is not you who need fear being raped.

tototototo: People who commit violent crimes are more likely to get into fights.

People who get into fights are more likely to have facial deformities.

Facial deformities make you ugly.

If you've been in enough fights to have facial deformities, you've probably had closed-head trauma and brain damage.

Brain damage makes you stupid. If you're stupid, you're more likely to commit crimes.

AND THE CIRCLE IS COMPLETE! UGLY PEOPLE ARE STUPID!

or maybe ugly people are more prone to commit crimes?

or maybe there are more ugly people over all?

eh? eh?

i'd have liked to have been in the room when the data was compiled. at some point the scientists would have to put the defendents into piles based on who was "ugly". anyone on the fence who was guilty was probably pushed into the "ugly" pile.

My dad told a story about a nurse he knew. Ugly as hell, but a really nice lady. She got into her car after work one night, and there was a guy with a gun in the back seat. He told her he was going to rape her until she died. She said, "I have forty dollars in my purse. I'm going to turn on the interior light, and you can have me or the money". She did, the guy looked at her and said, "I take da forty dollars".

/The nurse said it was the only time in her life she'd been glad of being so ugly

TheFarkinEmpress: There's always a price you pay, no matter how you look. Ugly? Everyone stares and makes nasty comments and treats you bad. Average? Everyone looks past you, and you end up in middle management, where you get treated bad. Look good? Everyone stares and makes nasty comments and treats you bad.

That's life.

That has to be one of my favorite comments of the year. Thanks for the chuckle!

As an ugly lawyer, I just hope that applies to clients and not me.

But I suspect it applies to me too. :(

At least you've got something to blame your lousy courtroom record on.

That and cool, refreshing vodka.

I haven't actually had my first trial yet, but I'm set for my first loss in June. Hehe.

DA or defense?
Good luck. Wear a dark suit, and ask the bailiff what pisses off the judge so you don't do that and screw up any chance you've got.

This isn't news. Ever see an attractive person on a bus? Ever seen an ugly person in a Ferrari? Attractiveness affects every aspect of life, not just getting a date. It affects paychecks, promotions, school grades, and yes even your chances in court.

2010-05-19 01:38:19 AM
Here's the flaw. People make decisions based on their preconceived notions of what is likely or not likely, and it's more likely that an ugly person committed a crime than a beautiful person. Therefore, is it inaccurate or unfair to be biased against ugly people? I'd say yes, but only because you shouldn't rule against a person unless you're absolutely sure they did it.

Female judges, incidently, are heavily biased in favor of women in rape and custody cases. Men are somewhat more skeptical, since it's again highly statistically likely that the woman is lying. There are a lot of unreported rapes, but of the ones that are reported, some 2/3? are false accusations.

Yeah. I have, actually.

As for the Ferrari, I'm sure ugly people are driving them too. I'd bet on it.

Kendrick: fred_chan - "Now that's not exactly fair. Klingons are just more likely to get into trouble because they don't have the same opportunities as kids from better neighborhoods."

Hey, now that we have klingon for a first lady, I think you have to reevaluate that stereotype.

Klingon? I thought she was more Ferengi.

This is lovely. It doesn't cost much as it's not real but the only one I can find is on one of the teacher's at school. So if you could please retrieve it I would be grateful.
