I've always believed in Gordon Bombay...that and it's near impossible to stop that damn knucklepuck

2003-05-16 04:19:20 PM
Damn them and their Flying V!

Who sold their soul to get them there I wonder?

2003-05-16 04:20:19 PM
I tell you what... that Emilio Estevez is a hell of a coach.

2003-05-16 04:45:25 PM
Maggie the Monkey is the Rally Monkey in disguise!!

If not, they would make a very cute couple.

2003-05-16 04:58:55 PM
Damn that monkey. It was the only TSN analyst to pick New Jersey over Ottawa too and now the Sens are playing like crap.

2003-05-16 05:09:59 PM
All I can say is that this has been the most bizarre Stanley Cup playoffs in many years. I mean, have you ever heard of a goalie with three straight shutouts? Let alone in a Conference finals?

{walks away still shaking head in disbelief}

2003-05-16 05:21:08 PM
I still think the Aflaacs can make history by blowing a 3-0 lead over the Wild.

2003-05-16 06:31:24 PM
Hey its like barry 'the mullet' melrose said, 'The wild don
t even start playing till they are down 3-1'

2003-05-16 06:41:26 PM
Oh I almost forgot....Go Devils!

2003-05-16 06:56:28 PM
Does someone have a copy of the contract that the city of Anaheim signed with Satan? First baseball, now hockey. Damn its Disney connections.

Southern California should be expecting a massive earthquake or fire in the next year or two. Possibly something may happen at Disneyland. All I know is that both the Angels and Ducks have been pretty shiatty teams until very recently.

2003-05-16 08:53:42 PM
I'm gonna hate the cup round because I'm a Devils fan, but since Sykora is a Duck now, I've been cheering for them. Oh, who do I want to win the cup? Do I go for the hometown team, or Cinderella with the sexy right wing. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

2003-05-16 09:45:00 PM
monkeys throw their poo!

2003-05-16 09:46:58 PM
Does the monkey also have large bosoms?

2003-05-16 09:48:13 PM
meh.

All I know is that I owe an apology to a farker for a bet we made about the Western Conference finals and the Wings. You know who you are (your name escapes me right now) Feel free to gloat:)

To be honest, I'm glad the Ducks are doing so well.

2003-05-16 09:50:15 PM
man i picked the wild and sens from the beginning of the playoffs and have been gloating becasue everyone else i know has had to change thier choices 3-4 times and now am like 72 hours away from losing both my teams... noooooooo

/sad, very sad rant

2003-05-16 09:51:17 PM
ClayParrot:

Three straight shutouts has been accomplished many times before. Hell, even Patrick Lalime and Brent Johnson accomplished it last year. When you narrow it down to three straight to start a series, that number gets lower. When you say three straight shutouts in a conference final, then you're down to just JS Giguere.

Go Ducks!

2003-05-16 09:53:17 PM
At least the Wings are done...

(sorry SweaterGirl)

2003-05-16 09:57:21 PM
/timemachine April 03'

gordon bombay puts on his skates and takes a little ride to remember the game

/timemachine back to May 03'

ducks pretty much unbeatable.... and there is the reason

2003-05-16 09:57:22 PM
It's not done yet. Get that first goal and then they can win the next four.

GO WILD!

2003-05-16 09:59:00 PM
:) all is well Stompn
To be honest, it's interesting to watch it with no vested interest whatsoever. It's been awhile.

I have to agree with ClayParrot as to the oddness of this season, though. Considering who is already out. It's just...weird.

Giguere rocks. The Ducks are fast. Good combo, even if they are named after a movie.

(Btw, FunkyChuck is the one I owe the apology too. He was right. I was wrong.)

2003-05-16 09:59:49 PM
Mickey better break out the wallet - Giguere's contract is up at the end of this year (same with Turco so Dallas better pay - with dumping Turgeon they will have the cash)

2003-05-16 10:01:15 PM
Everyone's got something to hide except for me and my monkey...

2003-05-16 10:02:06 PM
Go Ducks! Steve(Stumpy) Thomas needs his name on that cup!

Go Stumpy!

2003-05-16 10:03:26 PM
/me secretly hopes the Red Wings consider stealing Giguere

2003-05-16 10:03:31 PM
LeClerc - a good Winnipeg boy needs him name on the cup

2003-05-16 10:06:43 PM
SweaterGirl You are stuck with Cujo and Legace

Avs will be needing a goalie when Roy retires in June, Giguere and Turco are restricted I doubt either team would let them go. Avs will get Cechmanek or Burke (Burke would do great in Colorado). Maybe Detroit could pick up Cloutier from Van since he is probably done there

2003-05-16 10:23:58 PM
When they swept my beloved wings I picked them to go all the way. Then they beat dal ass I laughed and said welcome to playoff misery. I really really really lmao when the avs went down like a 5 dollar hooker. Yes what a long strange trip its been. So who's going to pick joisey? I say ducks in 6.

2003-05-16 10:27:44 PM
NOTHING CAN STOP THE KNUCKLEPUCK!!!

2003-05-16 10:35:19 PM
I love NBA games in overtime!!1!

2003-05-16 10:50:29 PM
The streak is over WILD SCORE on the PP.

2003-05-16 11:17:52 PM
Evil_carrot According to ESPN the last time a goalie started a series with three straight shutouts (damnit! I just forgot the guy's name) he lost the next three only to win game 7. Toronto 1945 goalie.

2003-05-16 11:20:40 PM
Stompn_Tom: Oh Detroit can have Cloutier -- hope they can keep up their defence, because Cloutier has a little... nodding off problem.

Anyway, GO WILD!

2003-05-16 11:21:01 PM
Of course the Ducks will make it to the final, and so will New Jersey: the TV ratings will be much higher if the final series features a team from California and a team from the Northeastern US. But I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

2003-05-16 11:26:43 PM
the 1945 toronto goalie was Frank McCool.

2003-05-16 11:35:20 PM
I hope this post just jinxed the Ducks.. THEY HAVE NOT WON YET DAMMIT! They have not advanced to the Finals yet! The Wild has made history in their run so far.. DO NOT count them out yet!

2003-05-16 11:38:59 PM
My god hockey sucks. Why? Because it's played on ice. Where the hell do you have to live and decide to play hockey? I don't see any ice anywhere.

And isn't there a guy in the NHL named Satan? Wtf is up with that?

2003-05-16 11:55:16 PM
DaLinuxNut Cloutier probably may still stick around Vancouver unless the 'nucks can get an amazng trade. It will be Cloutier and Moss in net net year - Moss brought the Moose pretty far in the AHL playoffs and will more than likely wind up as backup in Vancouver.

2003-05-16 11:56:33 PM
Whatever happens we are going to have a x-mass tree cup final... hopefully it's gonna be the Sens wearing the red and the Ducks wearing the green...

And with the Ducks just scoring to go up 2-1 it's looking good for at least half of my prediction.

2003-05-16 11:59:18 PM
Damn ducks - already cost me my playoff draft by knocking out the evil Wings

2003-05-17 12:01:08 AM
okay, CaptainGood, I see your troll, and bite willingly:

Any country north or south of 45 degrees, obviously. That makes it--well wonders never cease, the best hockey countries in the world ALL fit that description! I'll be god-damned.

You don't see us Canadians complaining about not being able to go sand dune buggying, do we?

Funny you should mention that, though. The NHL is the most multicultural professional sports league in North America. While you guys get over the whole novelty of Yao Ming playing your bouncy ball or Jackie Robinson making strides for the darkies a generation ago, the NHL doesn't discriminate and accepts everybody. There are at least 25 countries being represented in these playoffs alone.

Speaking of foreigners: yeah, Miroslav Satan from Slovakia. Second line left wing for the Buffalo Sabres. Pretty good player too. He's been in the league for 9 years now. Good on you to comment on his name now. Like no one had ever thought of that before. You sure are on top of things! Hey, maybe your NASCAR can have somebody like that.....someday, if your archaic bigotry doesn't get in the way. FYI, its pronounced Shah-tan.

2003-05-17 12:22:34 AM
I never thought I'd be saying this but GO WILD! Play tough you mother farkers or you'll be playing golf tomorrow.

2003-05-17 12:48:11 AM

The mild are 2 minutes from elimination.

2003-05-17 01:09:51 AM

2003-05-17 01:11:07 AM
If the Ducks win a cup before the Kings I'm gonna be pissed.
