CapStormfield: Man - the Bullshiat is out quick ...

-- she's conservative
-- the gays won't like him
-- the progressives won't re-vote for Obama.

Hey - let's cut the crap. She's the second-coming of Pelosi and Boxer. The lezzy set must be having multiple induced orgasms.

She is the second coming of the moderate, Sotomayor. She MIGHT not like DADT. That is all.

Elena Kagan: the Susan Boyle of the legal profession.

jenlen: If GAT and his ilk are up in arms over her, that likely means she will do a good job.

+1 Obama!

You're going to hate her too. She's big government, but in a bad way. She likes permanent jail for terrorists and big executive power, assuming you are the libertarian your profile says you are.

I look forward to finding out she is of course, a communist, fascist, aborter, soviet, sotero birthcerifct murika

GAT_00: GWSuperfan: Nobody is as liberal as Stevens.

Yeah there are. There are people on the Circuit Courts or State Supreme Court who are as liberal or more than Stevens. I guarantee it. Obama went to the middle. Again. I'm getting more than a little sick of it.

Are you really surprised that a moderate President has been electing moderate Justices?

2010-05-09 11:53:47 PM
GAT_00: The only problem I have with her is that she is a moderate replacing the leading liberal on the court. She is a swing to the right of the Supreme Court during a Democratic Presidency. I do not approve at all. Republicans wouldn't think twice about putting a staunch conservative in a liberal seat. Why do the Democrats have to put a moderate in a liberal seat? Really, I can't be the only person sick of only moderates and conservatives getting through the Senate.

Obama's all like "go suck it libs, I gotta pander to both sides of the political spectrum, even if the other side don't like me."

He's quite excellent at being a sellout.

Can you imagine the leftist outrage if Bush had nominated someone like this?

GAT_00: You all need some therapy, because somebody came along and said liberal means soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft on communism, soft on defense, and we're going to tax ya back to the stone age, because people shouldn't have to go to work if they don't want to. And instead of saying 'Well, excuse me, you right-wing, reactionary, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-education, anti-choice, pro-gun, leave it to beaver trip back to the fifties,' we cowered in the corner. And said 'Please Don't Hurt Me'. No more. I really don't care who's right, who's wrong. We're both right. We're both wrong. Let's have two parties, huh, what do you say?

She's just as qualified as Sotomayor!

Yeah, being dean of Harvard Law, Associate White House Counsel, and judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals just aren't enough qualification.

You shouldn't be so down on yourself. Sure, you're slow, but if you try really hard, you might be able to keep up.

Doesn't mean you'll ever be able to explain the nonsensical things you post, though.

4chan Ambassador: Hobodeluxe: let the character assassinations begin!

Nonsense, I'm sure everyone will be very civil about this, or at least matu-

Oh 4chan, I love and hate you so much.

4chan is to the Internet what Darfur is to planet Earth. I went there recently and witnessed an entire thread dedicated to a guy posting photos of his semen collection... helpfully stored in jars. Somehow, it was even worse than the one dedicated to a woman who smeared her torso with menstrual blood and yet another advocating child porn.

4chan Ambassador: Tough on terror:

Link

WASHINGTON - The line between speech protected by the First Amendment and aid to terrorists appeared elusive at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, and the justices' lively questioning complicated rather than clarified matters. They discussed travel to Cuba, the Communist and Nazi Parties, Tokyo Rose, treason and whether it is a crime to teach a terrorist how to play the harmonica..."

oh i think the carpet has already been rolled out for this one.

I wonder if she just picks up microwavable fare from the super market for the day or if she packs a boxed lunch. I like the ones with the clams.

From NYTimes article: In making his second nomination in as many years, Mr. Obama was not looking for a liberal firebrand as much as a persuasive leader who could attract the swing vote of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy

Now, that kind of makes sense.

I think there is enough anger from both sides of the political spectrum that I'm going to call this choice a winner.

I like no-forehead but why do you think a Dem would nominate him?

2010-05-09 11:59:30 PM
GAT_00: No we wouldn't. I'm tired of being a liberal meaning you're a farking pansy. I'm really sick of it, but since someone else once said it better, I'll let them say it for me.

You all need some therapy, because somebody came along and said liberal means soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft on communism, soft on defense, and we're going to tax ya back to the stone age, because people shouldn't have to go to work if they don't want to. Who ever said we were pussies except for effeminate Republicans? While I know where you're coming from, fark conservatives, Libertarians, and Republicans who typecast liberals as America's greatest danger. They can kiss my farkin' asshat. I was particularly pissed off when Bush II began ranting about the homosexuals during two of his SOTUs. Talk about picking on a politically weak, inoffensive minority. What a farkin' bunch of pussies the Republicans are, just windbags with better PR skills at manipulating the ignorant, the bigoted, and the willing. Democrats try to treat voters with respect and logic. The GOP goes for the soundbites and often-repeated-phrases, like "tax cuts."

A coworker once commented I shouldn't keep my Obama sticker on my car here in Alabama. She was honestly concerned someone would make trouble on me. I explained to her that I was a better shot than most. I even have an expert marksmanship ribbon as proof. And I'm even good with grenade launchers, 50-cal and M-60 machine guns to boot, thanks to Uncle Sam.

ceremony_1968: hot like Emily Proctor

Well, the first justice followed the show a little too well. Unfortunately, we are not re-enacting my favorite episode for the next justice.

AR55: Are you really surprised that a moderate President has been electing moderate Justices?

I'd be fine with that if he kept a steady position. People wanted a liberal in office, not a moderate. He didn't run as a moderate. He's going to have a very unmotivated base if he keeps this shiat up. I'm not going to vote for a Republican, but I might not bother voting at all.

2010-05-10 12:00:21 AM
Ender's: If Obama is a DINO, then I am perfectly fine with that. Moderation is sometimes the key to votes.

Clinton was a DINO and his imprint on the US economy was ridiculously awful.

CapStormfield: Stop it! Come on Sabby - we're not living in the 2008's. Spouting bull-shiat isn't enough anymore.

You stop it.

Regardless of Obama's pick, you and your ilk would have claimed the nominee was the most liberal person ever to be considered for the court.

And when asked to defend your statement, you'd demur and fall back on complete incomprehensibility...kind of like what you're doing now.

2010-05-10 12:00:44 AM
torquestripe: Is this the idiot who had a run in with the ROTC on her campus and the backed down?

Yes. She banned military recruiting at Harvard Law. I doubt the JAG missed out on many prospects.

2010-05-10 12:01:01 AM
GWSuperfan: Coco LaFemme: She's not liberal enough to be replacing Stevens.

Nobody is as liberal as Stevens.

Stevens wasn't that liberal. He was put in power by a Republican and its them and their party who've consistently strayed.

To quote Bill Maher, "the left has moved to the right and the right has moved into a mental hospital."

2010-05-10 12:01:13 AM
I make things with my hands: I think we can safely say whatever that meal is it will be licked clean by the end of the day.

It's gonna be day to day. Everyday she's gonna have to strap on those robes, get busy with the scissors in the office, and really dive into those mounds of paperwork.

2010-05-10 12:01:25 AM
Razorwolf: Coco LaFemme: Do not approve. She's not liberal enough to be replacing Stevens.

Sorry Barack, but the what the fark are you thinking?

Lesbian. That's about all he was thinking.

"Who can I pick for Supreme Court?"
"Here's the list, sir."
"Oooooh, that one."
"But sir, she's--"
"A lesbian! A jewish lesbian! Might as well call Guinness!"
"Sir?"
"Ever hear of another President appointing a jewish lesbian?"
"But sir, I think if we--"
"Do it, man!"

Some quality lulz right there.

2010-05-10 12:01:45 AM
SamFlagg: I think there is enough anger from both sides of the political spectrum that I'm going to call this choice a winner.

Yeah, great. The Republicans only appoint people that the left hates. Dems appoint people both sides hate. That makes for a balanced SCOTUS.
