We really don't, and it's pathetic. The meaningless hate of a race of people for actions so old and so singular is something the Nazis would truly be proud of.

The kid didn't understand the question and neither did I at first.

He was asked if it was true or false that the German word for basketball was "bieber". The kid didn't understand what was asked and the interviewer never went back and asked the question clearly. It was confusing and the kid said he didn't understand.

I don't know much about this kid but the little I've seen of him speaking on TV leads me to believe that he is probably smarter than the average 15 year old.

"bieber" comes from old German for beaver.

If the kid really doesn't know what German is then he is thicker than a plank of petrified wood.

After seeing him performing on stage with Stevie Wonder I personally would like to slap him.

The interviewer made "German" clear. He even should the kid the card. Bieber doesn't know what German is. Period. Now if you really gave a crap about the kid you would be worried about his education. Does he have tutors or not?

Personally, I'm looking forward to many years of dumb ass comments.

Ok, I understood the kiwi straight away, but being in the studio with him, maybe Ellen Page Justin Bieber didn't. Fair enough.

When he started to repeat "German" over and over, that's when the kid wandered into stupid territory.

When he let the kid READ THE CARD which was written in ENGLISH and he still didn't understand "German"... he's a Palin-American, no doubt.

This, basically. But, who cares?

We live in a country where Megan Fox keeps getting "acting" gigs. A country where a significant percentage of the population believes the Earth's about 6,000 years old. Or flat. Or both. A country where we still have folks who believe in spontaneous generation. We elected Dan friggin' Quayle to the second-highest public office in this country - and then elected Dubya, someone even dumber than Quayle, to the highest public office in this country.

This kid's a friggin' genius by comparison. He could very well be smarter than the average American 15-year-old male - but that's not a compliment for either him or the average American 15-year-old male.

My take on this is that Justin demonstrated the kind of pseudo-ADD behavior which we know is predicated by hearing problems.

Justin temporarily lost his ability to comprehend the question, during the spike of anxiety caused by mishearing it. The accent threw him because it added "background noise" to what he was hearing, and he couldn't pick out the words. You might say he got flustered, and it took him a while to recollect his thoughts.

I know no one cares about this anymore as this thread is too old, but I shall explain it in case anyone still reads this.

What the kid heard was: "Ok, Justin, uh, Bieber, sorry, is Jewman for basketball, true or false?"

He asked the guy to repeat himself multiple times, but it still sounded like "jewman". When he was finally showed the card, he was still responding to his earlier confusion, which is why he ended with "We don't say that in america".

I think he was just completely confused, and was trying to figure out why the guy was asking him about basketball and calling him a jew using some odd insulting term for it.
