He's a Republican from Bradenton. Go easy on him. The fact that he can even turn on a computer is inspirational.

Bennett defended his actions, telling Sunshine State News it was an e-mail sent to him by a woman "who happens to be a former court administrator."

Eh, the video evidence seems to agree with what he said. He closes it and then watches a video of a dog shaking water off of itself because it is wet. The issue isn't with looking at porn, it's with him apparently considering his job, to pay attention to the debate on abortion "boring."

Video (new window)

Normally I find the concept of BIE irritating but this is seriously teh ballsy. If only he said his Wife sent it to him...it would be legendary.

Was there any chance that anyone was going to present an argument (either for or again) that hasn't been used a thousand times before?

Well gee, if you're bored maybe we should find someone else who won't be so bored deciding bills in our country.

lennavan:The issue isn't with looking at porn, it's with him apparently considering his job, to pay attention to the debate on abortion "boring."

Why is it a problem that he was bored. Most "debates" really aren't debates at all but rather each side spewing their own damn talking points. Honestly, if I was in congress (yes I know this wasn't congress), I would be hard pressed to be able to pay attention as well. It's not like all the damn talking convinces anyone to change their votes. That happens in the back rooms.

Dwight_Yeast: Was there any chance that anyone was going to present an argument (either for or again) that hasn't been used a thousand times before?

Was the room dimly lit and he was fumbling for his fleshlight? Now that excuse hasn't been used too often. "I had to watch because I couldn't find my fleshlight."

Hey, don't knock everybody from Bradenton, though I still can't figure out who keeps voting for the dude and nobody seems to really want to run against him because he's got too much of his own money. I don't really know any of the local party people who like him either, yet we can't seem to get rid of him.

If you click on the TFA's pic to embiggen it, it seems pretty clear that the picture is of women in bikinis. As one of the commenters suggests, that sort of stuff is found on Florida postcards all the time. ("Wish You Were Her...") They don't look underage to me at all. Hardly pr0n at all. If it was, they'd have black-barred the crotchal areas too.

I guess this is the difference between myself and some people...

There is no way I could be aroused while talking abortion.

How farked up is that, and how many state laws does that eventually become?

When Clinton was POTUS the BJ scandal broke about the same time we had our first balanced budget in a long time. I suggested we hire the Olsen twins to be interns for him.

If this guy is doing a good job (I don't know) and likes to look at porn emailed to him, THEN EMAIL HIM LOTS OF GOOD PORN!

It's hard to be outraged at a guy who doesn't want to listen to an abortion debate. anyone that has ever changed their opinion on abortion because of what a state senator said can cast the first stone.

I get this is the way it is but I don't agree with it. I get that "debates" are not really debates. But if the vote is predetermined, why are we paying their salaries? Why not just add one to the vote for that party, fire the guy and save the money?

Why yes, I do think we should fire somewhere around 35 Republicans in the Senate and just give 35 more votes to John Boehner. What's the point of them continuing to exist?

Ha! Republicans are bored with the abortion debate until caring about it becomes good for their career. Suck it, pro-lifers. No one cares about your borderline terrorist organizations until they need your vote to stay in power.
