Electrons don't work that way subby!

My little sister had terminal leukemia and the make a wish foundation did something for her too.

Before long, some asshole will come in here complaining about the fuss this event caused. Or how much it cost. Because this is the internet, and this is fark. Assholes are to these places as stalagmites are to caves.

In my opinion, this was awesome. What make-a-wish does is pretty farking great. Most people have the entire lives to experience something great. They get, on average, 70+ years to hopefully go through something great that makes a favorite memory.

These kids don't have that. They don't have that long. And, so very often, most of the time they do get is spent in pain, in wheelchairs, in hospitals, in treatment.

So, because I probably won't get to check back in here... to any haters that might post, be they trolls or just honest-to-god sacks of shiat who aren't worth with the piss it'd take to put 'em out if they were on fire:

Shut your farking cockholster and go drown in a vat of bleach.

Thank you!

There are times when the moon reveals it's face through the clouds
I let out a sigh, and want to cry out loud
But deep in my heart I feel love so alive
And in the depths of my soul I know we will survive.

My... god.

Every day, I have to deal with a few trolls in a chatroom I moderate (farkers don't break rules so I can't do shiat) who talk about how farked up and evil humans are.

Every day the 'evils' of people are pushed in my face.

Sometimes, I start to believe. Then I see a story like this.

Look, I'm not all that religious, but if there is a heaven and a God, he better recognize that these people are doing as he would will them to do and claim them as his own, else he's not worth following.

"For good measure, more than 20 motorcycle officers from the Bellevue Police Department and King County and Snohomish sheriff's offices escorted Electron Boy to Seattle.

"They shut down 405 - they shut down I-90," marveled Moonshine Maid, aka Misty Peterson."

Not to hate on a good show, but thats alot of resources that could have gone towards something useful... Cancer research and state funded care centers come to mind.

/And closing 2 major highways is a dick move.

FTA: Electron Boy's motorcade - the DeLorean, the 25 motorcycle officers and a white limo - rolled through downtown Bellevue

Presumably they rocked down to Electric Avenue, and then they took it higher.

/good story, Submitter

Like any good superhero, Electron Boy kept his innermost thoughts to himself. But he did have one important thing to say:

"This is the best day of my life."

ok, i give them 1000/10 points for everything that they did for this kid, but they have to take it to the next level!
i want to see a special issue spiderman comic featuring Electron Boy!
either that, or a few issues of his daring adventures on the shelves.

2010-04-30 08:07:42 AM
No good deed goes unpunished/uncriticized...

Haters with their misallocted resources bullshiat can go fark themselves. Seriously. We're talking about some kid who doesn't get to grow up and you're worried about misallocated funds. Well then, Mr. Utilitarian, how about YOU man up and send some bucks to the place YOU think the money should go. That should even things up quite nicely. Oh yeah, and GFY.

2010-04-30 08:10:50 AM
I dunno, sounds quarky.

2010-04-30 08:11:29 AM
The coming of the Lone Wolf was foretold and his predictable asstalk threatens the thread!! Who can save us from this unoriginal and useless ''keeping it real?'' If only there were a superhero around who could put this evil in it's place...

/cheers to Electron boy and his fight against the Darkness!
//Make-a-Wish Foundation, you just got a new donor.

as a violent criminal, i'm not really fearful of a 9 year old with a single electron at his disposal.

Really?

I think the majority of people would agree that having to spend a few minutes taking an alternate route is small potatoes compared to the shiat these kids have to deal with every day.

2010-04-30 08:21:01 AM
too many electrons in my eyes

Moonshine Maid overstated the case, I'm sure. They would only need to hold up traffic just long enough to get EB's motorcade onto the freeway, and give them a half-mile head start.

It's written "Spider-Man." Spider-Man! The hyphen is significant!!

/wants to meet Moonshine Maid, too
//I'd hyphenate her adverbs

What an awesome thing to do for this boy. Stories like this give me a little faith back, in regards to humans.

And stories like this make me cry, which is why I'm off to find a tissue.

Long live Electron Boy!

2010-04-30 08:32:50 AM
Good story, but doesn't someone REALLY need to save the Supersonics, Seahawks, or Mariners? Or maybe just leave them locked in a stadium...

2010-04-30 08:33:09 AM
And kudos to the boys from the Northwestern.. those evil bastards. I always knew they were villains!!

2010-04-30 08:33:16 AM
I wish all of my tax money could be "wasted" in this manner.
The people that went out of their way to rally in support of this kid should each receive those seventy two virgin raisins everyone keeps talking about.

ObMeme: Do you know who else could rally a crowd?

2010-04-30 08:35:33 AM
LoneVVolf: ...closing 2 major highways is a dick move.

Thanks for showing us an even better example of a "dick move".

Why do I not believe this is a misallocation of resources? Because we are human beings, not machines or Vulcans. Not only did Electron Boy get the experience of his all-too-short life, but everyone who took part in this came away with a joyous memory they will never forget. Even the people who saw the disturbance and only found out later why their traffic was delayed will delight in the story. Humans will understand and embrace it. Trolls may have more trouble understanding, of course.

/Great job, Make-a-Wish! My hearty thanks to all involved.

This is what the Hero Tag is for - way to go Make a Wish!

2010-04-30 08:47:48 AM
Proper use of Hero tag. Hero for the boy and Hero for the make a wish foundation. Can we double tag?
