Once again, Pink Panther Flakes go woefully unrecognized.

Cheerios are pretty crazy to me as it is

Of course, nobody remembers KaBoom cereal - gives you the multi-colored shiites coming out. My kids loved it.

2003-05-11 11:51:37 AM
Mr.T cereal was such a rip-off. All they were was Captain Crunch shaped like t's. Of course the greatest cereal ever invented was Count Chocola, when you were a kid you could fool yourself into thinking the milk left over at the end was chocolate milk.
Ahhh the golden days of youth........

What's up with the "SO-HI" on the asian dudes hat?

2003-05-11 11:54:53 AM
Cherrios are good for one thing...teaching little boys how to pee in the toilet. They make great targets. No taste.

2003-05-11 11:55:08 AM
I rememeber OJ's. I thought they were pretty tasty.

Ah, Golden Nuggets. Superb. (UK version of Crunchy Nuggets)

Speaking of Cheerios, here is a funny excerpt from Family Guy:

Peter: Brian! My alphabets are spelling something. It says 'Oooooo..."
Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.

CRISPY numbers, biatch. the only one of those i really remember is oj's, and i share his analysis of them. who on earth would want orange-flavored cereal?

2003-05-11 12:05:33 PM
KaBoom = most evil cereal ever!!!

2003-05-11 12:11:10 PM
eh...ok. I like cheerios.

2003-05-11 12:12:30 PM
Of course they had to take the "Sugar" off the cereal titles, so now "Super Sugar Crisp" is now something like "Super Crisp" or whatever. That's because cereal is now sweetened with corn syrup, just like soft drinks, instead of real sugar. No more cane sugar. But as a sweetener, real sugar does taste better than corn syrup. Genetically modified corn syrup no less.

Corn syrup is cheaper than real sugar. Increases the companies profit margins. Mmmmm, profit margins. Too bad for people with corn allergies.

Wasn't Kaboom that multicolored clown cereal. If so.. ya.. man that stuff as horrid.

super golden crisp, i believe it is now. my sister and i were never allowed to have sugary cereals like that when we were kids. so of course, when i went to college and discovered the cereal bar, cocoa puffs became an important part of a balanced breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

2003-05-11 12:29:09 PM
Worst cereal I ever had:

"Sunday Comics" or it was "Sunday Funnies."
The gimmick was that there was a fold out with popular Sunday comics. The cereal itself was multicolored laughing faces. The taste??

Take some smarty pants powder(those cheap candies that look and are wrapped like miniature Rolaids) and use that instead of actual sugar. Ever wanted to know what "teal" and "fusha" tastes like? That was pretty much it. I tossed it out after half a bowl full and washed my mouth out with chocolate milk for three hours.

2003-05-11 12:30:23 PM
Obviously the "OJ's" came out before 1994.

2003-05-11 12:34:49 PM
Let's not forget C3POs...

2003-05-11 12:50:45 PM
odd that guy on the golden nuggets box looks like the one on the yukon gold cereal box that I buy for the kids at my local grocery store. Anybody that lives in the Oklahoma Arkansas, Missouri area knows what grocery store. Basically those are corn pops rip offs but taste just as good. Although, they obviously don't have as good quality control as Kellog's does otherwise I wouldn't open the occasional box to find one gigantic corn pop that weighs about a pound. Really neat but harder than hell to chew. BTW, did those OJ's come with a realistic butcher knife or Bronco keys in every box. Sorry couldn't resist.

Shredded Ralston!?

Isn't Ralston a dog food/cat food company?

What about Zelda/Mario Bros. cereal? That was the shiat.

I bet this stuff was real popular in Britain.

What about that puffed rice in a bag?

Definitely the "meh" of all cereals.

2003-05-11 01:06:43 PM
How about the extremely oddly named "Grins, Smiles Giggles and Laughs"?

I guessing that "Giggles" is the girl?

2003-05-11 01:11:35 PM
Damn they were just trying too hard on that one, Anagrammer.

2003-05-11 01:12:39 PM
KABOOM !

I'd eat this for breakfast !

2003-05-11 01:12:54 PM
I think the guy who wrote this was on a sugar high of a life time himself. I don't mean that as an insult, he just seems to have been very excited about the damn cereal boxes.

I never ate fun cereal as a kid anyway, all that was offered was cornflakes and musli.

2003-05-11 01:18:13 PM
Seriously, that bowl of rainbow-colored "crap" does look pretty disgusting.

2003-05-11 01:23:37 PM
Does anybody remember Fruit Islands Cereal or Ice Cream Cones Cereal ?
I wanna say they came out around 85-86 or so. Great commercials, crappy cereal.

2003-05-11 01:25:15 PM

Found this on a GIS for "Weird Cereal"

Looks like an old photoshop, props to who did it.

Is anyone else still farking pissed that Trix are fruit shaped? I miss sphereoid Trix! They tasted better then, too.

Why mess with perfection?

2003-05-11 01:39:34 PM
Hmm. I was born before all them "old" cereals.

For breakfast I eat gummy bears.

2003-05-11 01:51:27 PM
The frosted rice kid is "So Hi." So was I last time I ate a box, uh, I mean did a bowl, uh, I mean ate a bowl.

2003-05-11 01:52:29 PM
me and a friend had this idea for a cereal called "Breakfast Bukakke".....It'd be like Special K, only with more jizm

but hey, high protein diet right? and the sluts would love it!

2003-05-11 01:53:17 PM
Best cereal of my childhood: Hidden Treasures.

2003-05-11 01:57:51 PM
Well, I'll be. That green guy standing at the base of the
Fruity Freakies tree is a magnet on my stove. Except we
didn't eat the fruity version, just the standard Extra
Sugared Sugar Freakies.

And yes Doctechnical, that's always the way. I saved
boxtops to get a pad of secret pink dissolving paper. In a
spy-vs-spy way I must have been sure I needed bright pink
edible paper in case I was ever trapped alone with a secret
note which was about to be stolen by enemy spies.

2003-05-11 02:06:28 PM
Farkaneer

Your magnets name is Boss Moss

My brother and I each had a full set of Freakies toys from box tops. This was around 1975, if I remember correctly.

/geek/

PS Robert, where the hell do you find this stuff?

2003-05-11 02:22:27 PM
Shredded Ralston?

Has anyone consulted Aron Ralston about this?

2003-05-11 02:27:43 PM
"Oh, I wonder, I wonder, I wonder, who took the Freakies tree?"

LIVED on that stuff when I was a kid.

otherwise I wouldn't open the occasional box to find one gigantic corn pop that weighs about a pound.

Sell it on eBay! You could have the next giant cheeto.

is that a 'Cujo' reference? Anyways, I really miss 'Frankenberry' and 'Boo-Berry'. I got high once and ate an entire box of 'Fruity Pebbles' in one go. Then I took a wonderful nap.

2003-05-11 04:01:21 PM
Hey BurpingCheetah, check this out. Good stuff.

2003-05-11 04:22:13 PM
Heh, I vaguely remember Kabooms! I loved those demented smiley faces grinning at me each morning. Although I used to have nightmares about the clown on the creral box...

I thought I was a cereal wizzard when I was in HS and (stoned) mixed PB Crunch with Coco Pebbles to make choc pb cereal. I shoulda trademarked it.

I still miss Smurfberry crunch...that was some damn fine munchie food. My parents never did figure out why their 17nyear old wanted smurf cereal.

2003-05-11 04:35:54 PM
I remember Ka-Boom, though I never ate it. The clown sounded like he had a bad cold or smoked too much.

As for Grins & Smiles & Giggles & Laughs--what the hell is happening on that box? There's a bone sticking out of that machine, and the girl is tickling its ear! Is that machine MAKING the cereal?

The whole scene looks like the cereal version of the poster for "The Corpse Grinders."

2003-05-11 04:43:46 PM
(last attempt.)

Got Milk?

I'm a dirty little furvert! (Not really. DarKrow beat me to the C&H reference, so I was going to photoshop a thread crossover between this and the tiger mating thread (yeah. stupid.), but when Google image search turned this up, I decided to just post it instead. Well, that, and Cox broadband isn't any better off than people are saying roadrunner is right now.)

(muchas gracias to B0rg9. Mods please delete all previous lame attempts at posting, and accept my humble apologies. By the way, I did read the FArQ. I'm just used to coding HTML with spaces in it, and did not realize that Fark requires it to be exactly as listed in the FArQ.)

2003-05-11 05:59:42 PM
OJ's were the best!. We used to eat ours with orange juice instead of milk.

...damn I'm white trash!

2003-05-11 06:09:33 PM
How do i get rid of these stupid messenger service things that keep popping up when i'm in the middle of something?

2003-05-11 06:17:22 PM
"Mr. Wonderfull's Surprize" now with more 'creamy chocolate filling."

What the fark were they thinking about?

2003-05-11 06:53:20 PM

2003-05-11 09:20:24 PM
I got high once and ate an entire box of 'Fruity Pebbles' in one go

I once ate a whole box of froot loops in one sitting in a cereal eating contest in college. it really tore up my insides too, i shat green for a week.

"No, Farina. Farina, really. Most people was named after their father? We was after our father's favorite breakfast. There's my twin brothers over there, Quisp and Quake. There's my little brother, he's retarted, his name is Special K. There's my sister, she a prostitute, her name is Trix. There's my brother, he a homosexual, his name is Lucky Charms. He over there with his friend, Froot Loops."

2003-05-11 10:33:31 PM
A whole box of Froot Loops? Good god, man! You must have been dangling strips of mouth-flesh from between your lips for a month!

2003-05-12 03:37:13 AM
I havent eaten cereal in years...but I remember some freak brands. I'm not sure if they are even around anymore.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch for example. And that one endorsed by the smurfs. I also remember some cereal with a pink frankenstein as a mascot.

Maybe my parents fed me LSD for breakfast as a child and I imagined it all.

2003-05-12 04:11:03 AM
Grape Nuts anyone?!

2003-05-12 04:21:29 AM
Ooooh! I forgot those Kenchie!!

2003-05-12 10:08:39 PM

2003-05-12 10:12:15 PM

This was my favorite due to its strange humor:

"Contains no pachyderms or rutabagas" was its faithful promise on the side of the box.

You wouldn't want any pachyderms in your cereal, would you??
