CLEARLY I'm evil: That's some epic Earth farting.

Wouldn't an earthquake be an Earth fart and a volcano eruption be Earth diarrhea?

Or maybe a volcano is the Earth popping a zit ...

He don't want to talk to a scientist, those mother farkers lyin', and gettin' him pissed.

"Yeah I think those are normal sound waves not shock waves but I could be wrong."

Aren't the two terms kind of interchangeable? a shock wave basically is a very strong sound wave, no?

Been a looooong time since highschool physics though...there a scientist in the house?

I love volcanoes. You know, from a distance and in a purely platetectonic way.

Zentelis: Very cool.

The most astonishing part, however, is that Obama is not blamed anywhere in the article.

Give it time. FOX will figure out some sort of correlation.

He did push for something called "volcano monitoring", which is rather expensive compared to the NEA arts budget.

Don't we already monitor volcanoes? You know, the USGS and their fancy instruments on the slopes and all?

I'd say it's a direct reference to the original song, though in the same vein as the SNL skit. But now I'm harping on the meme's syntax

th0th: Give it time. FOX will figure out some sort of correlation.

Volcanoes release greenhouse gases and we can't stop volcanoes therefore Obama is a fool to try to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by the US because they will be released by volcanoes anyway. Duh.

That's cool being able to so clearly see the waves propagate through the ash plume like that. Interesting stuff. Seriously.

Oh, and for all the derpderp fauxnews nitwits up there... grow up, just a little. Or get back to the politics tab. Whichever. Sheesh.

Rupert Murdock complains loudly that the web (mainly Google) steals his property and that Google should pay for the privilege of indexing and displaying such information in search results.

At the same time Fox News uses footage from YouTube without attribution.

Back on topic - awesome footage.

non compos mentat: I would love to check this out. I got a chance to go to Mt. St. Helens in 1982 and take a helicopter ride around the inside of the crater.

Two friends of mine and their parents lived very near the crater base and abandoned their house as the eruptions grew. They had a couple of volcanologists actually visit their house, interview them about any tremors in their area, ask for copies of any pictures, etc., etc. Then, they were told to stay at their own peril and that they believed that they would die soon enough if they ignored evacuation plans that would soon go into effect. They got the fark out.

I met them the first time when, for some reason, they bought a house and settled down in Smallville Texas about half a mile from my house. They had lots of pics of early events at the crater. Even got a quart jar of freshly picked Mt. St. Helens ash out of the deal. To my knowledge, neither one of them have ever been back to Washington.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting the Youtube link. I was so afraid, so VERY afraid, that Glenn Beck was going to reach through my monitor, grab me by the naughty bits and convert me into a teabagger. I would much rather be subjected to the classy comments on Youtube than the evil right wing bias that a story about a volcano would undoubtedly carry.

I seriously doubt it's what the guy said. The failure is most likely the reporter's.
