How could you tell the tire was upside down?
2003-05-08 03:26:54 PM
The blow-out hole would be on top

I hope Firestone wasn't consulted...

Be sure to exit the passing lane when my Sport Trac eases up behind you. I commute and grocery shop at nearly 80mph. The only repair to my truck is replacing the fuse when I roll 6 windows down at the same time.

That's it 3horn?! In related news, Ford's graphic design department figured out Photoshop's gradient tool does.
2003-05-08 04:12:11 PM
I had a Ford once. It was delivered with a glove box full of recall notices.
2003-05-08 04:27:46 PM
In yet more related news, novelty sticker manufacturers quickly retooled their printing lines to reflect the change.

I think they should have changed it to a guy pushing a car or something. Or a handprint (from the pushing), a wrench, a road flare out on the lonely highway... something like that.

As long as we're on the ancient car humor (and let me add "Fix It Again, Tony" here):

A man walks into an auto parts store, says to the guy behind the counter "I want an oil filter for my Yugo". Guy behind counter says "Sounds like a fair trade to me".

Hey, I'll be here all week, try the veal!

Their logo changed about as much as the Miami Dolphins' logo did when they revised it.
2003-05-08 07:48:19 PM
The upside-down flaming tire should be tattooed on every idiot that refuses to check their tire's air pressure.

I feel no sympathy for those who've crashed do to this. None at all.
2003-05-08 07:49:03 PM
They shoulda' come to us to photoshop them a new one.
2003-05-08 07:49:15 PM
They shoulda held a photoshop contest for it.

Udo and Frankie: the FARK simultaneous post phenomenon occurs once again... WHY does that happen so often?

Ford press release:

What you're seeing is NOT the new logo... according to this release, it'll be revealed sometime in June.
2003-05-08 07:55:38 PM

Actually, I had a 5.0 Mustang and loved it, but I heard that one from another Ford owner and had to laugh.
2003-05-08 07:55:57 PM
They still make Fords? I thought they went totally truck.
2003-05-08 07:57:41 PM
So basically, the graphic designer put a shaded background in the logo? I wonder how much the agency got for that 20 seconds of work?

I drive a Ford, and I've grown to hate it more each day. But hey, if you don't like inviting interiors and soft rides, they're the cars for you.
2003-05-08 08:04:24 PM
I love my Bronco II. If you have an "auto everything" Bronco II then you hate it. Mine is all manual and low tech and it cannot break.

I love my Bronco II.

Did I mention how much I love my little truck?
2003-05-08 08:05:33 PM
What a useless article. Don't report on it if you're not going to at least have a picture of the new logo.

Regarding the new logo: Wow, Ford has some balls of steel to make such a drastic change like that.
2003-05-08 08:06:01 PM
who cares.

2003-05-08 08:06:23 PM
I had a Bronco II. I loved that piece of shiat. I spent more money on it keeping it running than if I just bought a new car.

The Ford oval, the primary symbol representing Ford Motor Company during much of the last 100 years, is being modernized into a centennial version that will be revealed on Ford's World Headquarters building in June for the centennial celebration.

They didn't "add a gradient". The new logo ain't out yet.

Other than regular oil changes (which i dont' consider a repair cost any more than gassing up is "repair") and a new clutch that I had to put in last year ( brakes, this is just a regular maintenance rquirement) I've never had to do any serious repair and I've owned it for almost 6 yrs.

My little Bronco has climbed hills that were wicked scary. My little Bronco eats up BC mountains.

(now I'm singing the "my little pony" theme song but with "bronco" inserted instead of "pony")

oh yea.....go nucks.
2003-05-08 08:11:35 PM
it must be acronym day. how exciting.

hey, if you have little shards of glass sitting in puddles on your kitchen floor (picture fell off my wall while at work and knocked over a vase full of water), and no mop or desire to get glass in your hands (or anymore glass in my hands), what's the best way to clean it up? I'm figuring to let the water evaporate and then sweep it up, cuz sweeping it now would likely just spread the problem.
2003-05-08 08:11:41 PM
Stupid color gradient -- that just looks trendy and will be out of style in 6 years.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. How well that maxim applies to Ford cars, I don't know (apparently not well, judging from comments), but it works for the logo, and they should have listened to it.
2003-05-08 08:12:56 PM
ah, DeadKitten, thanks for setting that straight. I smell a Fark Photoshop coming up.
2003-05-08 08:13:43 PM
You mean it doesn't have the rebel flag, er, Dixie Flag, incorporated in somewhere?
2003-05-08 08:14:11 PM
Feeder find the nearest orphanage. Offer the person running it $20 to "borrow" his stock. Have them run barefoot across the kitchen until the problem is solved.

For an extra $5 I'll tell you how to get blood off of linoleum.

I guess everyone's had their bad experiences with <insert auto mfr here>, but my 2001 F-150 is dependable and a surprisingly smooth ride. Good truck for the bucks.

Ahhh - ford

Just had a ford explorer engine melt on me 2 days ago - 1999 - what a piece of shiat....

If Ford wants to improve their image they ought to improve their vehicles. Toyota are about to surpass them and clinch the number two spot.

How are they going to advertise this....

Same Ford, New Logo!
