gopher321: So I wonder where these coca leaves are "processed" for Coke? In Atlanta? Or in the exporting countries themselves?
jingks: gopher321: So I wonder where these coca leaves are "processed" for Coke? In Atlanta? Or in the exporting countries themselves? In the United States, a Stepan Company plant in Maywood, New Jersey has the only license to legally import coca leaf. The company manufactures pure cocaine for medical use and also produces a cocaine-free extract of the coca leaf, which is used as a flavoring ingredient in Coca-Cola.
ParaHandy: At least it's not something really dangerous like cannabis.
shivashakti: Coca leaf extract is also in regular Coca-Cola as well, just decocainized coca leaf extract. It's part of the "secret formula".I believe it's a legal issue. They have to have at least some coca leaf and some kola nut in order to be allowed to call the product "Coca-Cola".Red Bull Cola also has decocainized coca leaf as a flavoring/ingredient.
Klasik: The politician was gone but unnoticed, like the period after the Dr. on a Dr Pepper can.Obscure?
Cup_O_Jo: Cocoa also known as CHOCOLATE is in a nut. The leaves from this plant of this nut are cocoa leaves. Cocoa leaves are very tame in small quantities. It's when you dry the leaves and turn them into a concentrated powder and snort it up your nose...there's a problem. The concentration of Cocaine is INSANE which is why it is so expensive. How many leaves and how much processing does it take to make cocaine? A LOT. Is their chocolate in your coca cola? FREAKING DUH..and if you think that in the processing of cocoa nuts that the leaves don't sometimes slip in there--well your outta your mind. Especially in your fantastic imported dark chocolates-fair trade--ya know from places like BOLIVIA. LOL
Cup_O_Jo: Cocoa also known as CHOCOLATE is in a nut.
jingks: Cup_O_Jo: Cocoa also known as CHOCOLATE is in a nut.Cocoaine also makes the best hair dressing.
cbcs: I'm going out on a limb here, and I still don't think this could have been possibly overlooked, but you two surely understand that we are talking about COCA, not COCOA, right? Please?
jingks: cbcs: I'm going out on a limb here, and I still don't think this could have been possibly overlooked, but you two surely understand that we are talking about COCA, not COCOA, right? Please? Is that directed at me or Cup_O_Jo? I can assure you I know how to spell cocaine.
inthemiddleofitall: *yourself.....my spelling stinks this morning. And so does my grammer, im not correcting it though.
cbcs: Cup_O_Jo. I'm pretty sure this rocket scientist was trying to say that blow comes from the same plant as Hershey's.
inthemiddleofitall: Here is another interesting observation. Why do they still after all these years continue to call it Coca Cola if it contains neither.
Oznog: Hi, I'm Dr Rockso and I do COCA-COLLA!
FlyingPenguini: /ps can't sleep clown will eat me
inthemiddleofitall: While we are at it we really should be addressing the very real extremely addictive additive in coke. Caffeine. Im not going to jump on the soapbox and tell you all the dangers of it. Ask yourslef this question how many cups of coffee does North America drink a day,how easy would it be to not drink it for a day,a week? And back to the cocaine issue.....
yumpizza: Coke has like 50 mg of caffeine... or 1/4 a normal cup of coffee. And by the way, caffeine is perfectly safe in every way unless your heart is already screwed to hell and gone.
jingks: cbcs: Cup_O_Jo. I'm pretty sure this rocket scientist was trying to say that blow comes from the same plant as Hershey's.Yeah, I'm not sure. I was going to post the "not sure if serious" image but was happily surprised a GIS of cocoaine actually produced some images.
Neo-Rio-101: Unavailable for commentfarking coke-a-roaches.
