teh_idiot: Abortion is murder.
Murdering an abortionist is murder. By you farking farkers' logic, Roeper terminated Tiller in his 203rd trimester. At least he didn't dismember a poor little sinless soul and throw it a biohazard container. And he only did it once. And he prevented more murders.

/Not a troll

Ahh christians and abortion. First off I should point out original sin and how all unbaptized children go straight to hell, burning merrily in unending torment while good Christians rise into heaven and sit at god's feet.

Goddamn I love the idiocy in your religion, seriously some of the shiat in the christian holy texts makes the story of Xenu seem like a historical narrative.

There's something nice and easy about taking on Abortion is a sin as a major issue. Its a nice 'feel good' morality that doesn't really require effort or much action on your part to try to prevent.

Hell its not something like fighting to prevent rape, spousal abuse, torture, genocide anything like that. Nope all you need to do is keep writing letters, complaining about it on TV and maybe one day you'll get the law changed!

Then there's the whole absolute arrogance associated with define your morality as right and subjecting EVERYONE to your morality. Again let us go back to that WONDERFUL example of pedophile priests. Where was the outrage? Now I know most christian flavors are against homosexuality and everyone in general is against raping children. So can we explain why our 'family values' politicians are making more of a stink about making abortions harder to get than some sort of oh I don't know legislation or condemnation?

If we look at modern christianity in the US as a whole strictly in the light of preposed legislation you get a really funny skewing of what they view as important.

So in short: I'll keep posting signs in front of churches that have any sort of anti-abortion signs displays whatever which usually say, "The FBI says 1 in 3 women will be raped in their lifetime. Why is abortion a greater crime?" or "Why is abortion a greater sin than god's servants raping the children whose souls they are supposed to guide?"

Goddamn pathetic religion.

FarkinHostile: No, he's talking about the "RAPE him! Penis in the ass, Woo hoo! Burn him to death! Torture him slowly!" people.

You're doing it wrong. Jesus. Here's what you're supposed to say:

Imagine my surprise coming into this thread. The smug, sneering liberals of Fark.com are now viciously attacking a criminal. Funny, since you'd normally see these same people decrying the overbearing and abusive prison system in this country. I guess when a white, middle-class American citizen is thrown in jail they deserve scorn and jokes made about prison rape; but if it's an illegal immigrant La Raza member in prison for the same crime they are a 'victim of poor circumstances' and are only there to be rehabilitated. Typical.

Allornone: randomjsa: Hmm, so the purpose of prison is to make people suffer the consequences of their actions and punish them...

That's good, because based on what some people were trying to tell me prison was suppose to be about rehabilitation or some other such drivel as that.

You're attempt to portray liberals as hypocritical tree-huggers fails as usual. He's got a life sentence. It is punishment, and rightly so. He's expressed no guilt or regret. Convicts with the possibility of rehabilitation don't get life/death sentences.

Rehabilitation is possible in the right situations. This killer isn't in one of those situations.

The Moon Cannot Be Stolen

Ryokan, a Zen master, lived the simplest kind of life in a little hut at the foot of a mountain. One evening a thief visited the hut only to discover there was nothing to steal.

Ryokan returned and caught him. "You have come a long way to visit me," he told the prowler, "and you should not return empty-handed. Please take my clothes as a gift."

The thief was bewildered. He took the clothes and slunk away.

Ryoken sat naked, watching the moon. "Poor fellow," he mused, "I wish I could have given him this beautiful moon."

There would be a lot more people running around raping, burning down buildings, murdering and raping if there was were no fear of life sentences being handed out. At 52 he didn't get that memo?

No, I think I'm OK with him living to a very ripe old-age, still in prison, wondering when he's going to be the hero, and wondering and wondering and wondering.

Yea, I'm ok with that. I hope he lives to see the day before his release date, and no more.

Do you punish the individual who committed the action or do you punish the system that told him the action was correct?

Someone who thought he had a right to shoot doctors is now concerned that people aren't respecting his rights?

I think American culture is just too far over the heads of people like this.

I understand that we will never agree that a human live is worth, well worth anything at all, but how is that cowardly? No I don't think human lives are precious, that they are worthwhile. Quite frankly there are too many people on this planet as it is we could stand to kill about 4 to 5 billion of the them.

Abortion serves a necessary and vital function, but I do agree that death penalties should be eliminated. Too many prosecutors, judges, plaintiff's attorneys, and cops are corrupt. This has lead to a farking travesty of justice.

Color me shocked.

The big flaw in our system is that now we have to pay for all these hearings he's apparently permitted to demand. He gets to go mouth off in court, we get to pay for the whole circus - the cost of taking him to the court, the cost of bringing in the judge, the other courthouse personnel, the whole rigmarole.

How many times does he have the right to do this before we get to lock him up and throw away the key? I swear there are days I come thisclose to thinking this whole democracy thing is way overblown.

Slaves2Darkness: Too many prosecutors, judges, plaintiff's attorneys, and cops are corrupt. This has lead to a farking travesty of justice.

I'm pretty sure more innocent people have been executed due to incompetence and ignorance and just mistakes, than corruption - at least in the USA. Getting someone innocently executed on purpose is pretty difficult, risky, and rarely rewarding.

When this guy was first arrested, he complained about "deplorable" conditions in his jailing. I just laughed. I think he actually believed all the right-wing propaganda about how easy prisoners have it in America. Now he's there, and he's realizing it sucks. We treat our prisoners like shiat. Our prisons are third-world dungeons, and he's just now figuring that out.

The best part is, I think he actually thought he would get away with it. He really thought the jury would nullify, and set him free. In his mind, I think it was a choice between getting out of jail free, or spending a few years in a cushy cell with cable TV and free internet access until a liberal activist judge let him out on a technicality.

He's getting a well-earned lesson in the reality of how cold our system really is. Sweet justice.

Don't worry. I hear Jesus had it easy too. If I remember my Bible, after he declared himself Son of God and the One True Messiah, the other religions said "Great! Welcome Aboard, Bro"

They built many temples, churches and religion themed parks in his name and told everyone in their congregations "Go check out Jesus. He's new but he's good."

After eleventy hundred years of being worshiped, Jesus announced he was going home "to tell Dad what a cool place this was." He boarded a flying saucer that arrived behind the Hale - Bopp Comet and went home.

See? So God isn't going to let you suffer either. Maybe he'll pull one of those miracles. I would suggest that you demand the electric chair. Then God will let you get zapped and not be harmed. Then, everyone will see that you are righteous and holy and not a guy to be messed with.

So, demand the chair and when they say "Moist head sponge?" Just say "No thank you. Your electricity will not harm me nor make my head asplode. I have God on my side."

Then, have a seat and wait for that miracle.
