Lost Thought 00: GAT_00: Lost Thought 00: Are the position players ready to pitch yet?

That's the Cardinal's SS pitching.

Ahh... so does this qualify him as a P for fantasy purposes?

Good question. I don't have a damn clue. Does any site's Fantasy set have the ability to do that?

Also, there's a pitcher playing LF?

Just when I thought I couldn't be any more embarrassed to be a Mets fan...

Oh good, a greenlit Mets thread.

Valdes better make this a 1-2-3 bottom of the 18th after that craptastic baserunning of his. Jesus, dude, I know you're a pitcher, but surely you have slid into a base before in your life, no? WTF?!?

Record for most runs in the top of the 19th inning. . .

That qualifies as the most randomly strange record in existence.

2010-04-17 10:20:00 PM
This doesn't happen to be the same ump that whined about the games being too long?

Yeah, to be a color guy for baseball you have GOT to have a bunch of autistic dudes working for you coming up with minutia like that.

/what you can do in six hours or less?

OK, now they're getting stat delirious over there at FOX

As a Cardinals Fan whose best Fark Friend was a Mets fan, this is one game that is missing bar stools or phone calls.

I miss you Bufu.

How is fark liking the game? You all tired of it, or enjoying it?

2010-04-17 10:24:21 PM
This game is lasting so long the drunks in the stands are getting hangovers.

And here comes Joe Mather to pitch!

2010-04-17 10:24:27 PM
...and Joe Mather as "The Pitcher."

2010-04-17 10:24:28 PM
McGwire's sitting on the bench, make him pitch!

2010-04-17 10:24:32 PM
If the Mets explode in the top of the 19th. . .I don't think we will be hearing the end of it for several months.

2010-04-17 10:24:44 PM
LOL Mather, another first-time pitcher. And the Mets'll go down 1-2-3 again.

Tarheel_Madness: How is fark liking the game? You all tired of it, or enjoying it?

I'm enjoying it. I fell asleep right before the Phillies game started and woke up just as the last out was being recorded, so this is satiating my baseball fix for the night.

2010-04-17 10:25:31 PM
I am loving it. I'd hate to be that High School that has to play on the field after this thing ends.

Tarheel_Madness: How is fark liking the game? You all tired of it, or enjoying it?

Like a good meme, it started off fun, became drool and repetitive, but then gained an ironic momentum and became fun again.

2010-04-17 10:25:58 PM
And the pitcher doesn't have a damn clue how to play left. Figures. Well, keep right handed pitchers in the game and I guess he'll just be bored.

Also, did I just hear right? There is still a high school game scheduled? Nobody moved it? I guess I can kinda understand that, "Well, this won't last more than one more inning..."

2010-04-17 10:26:08 PM
The managers uniform dates back from when they were "player-managers", I say we let LaRussa and Manuel get in there and pitch until someone scores.

2010-04-17 10:26:54 PM
I was supposed to go to the bar an hour ago. It's like watching a train wreck. And I LIKE the Mets.

2010-04-17 10:27:06 PM
simply nonsense. the cardinals have been trying to give this game to the mets for the last 12 innings. the mets are terrible.

2010-04-17 10:27:07 PM
I think this is the inning the Mets score. Mather is all over the place.

2010-04-17 10:27:23 PM
damn tim mccarver is an annoying son of a biatch

2010-04-17 10:27:28 PM
Wait, there's a dude on the mound for the first time EVER, and the batter lays down a sac bunt? This is a very strange game.

2010-04-17 10:28:17 PM
I'm kind of amazed how badly LaRussa has managed this game, using pitchers as pinch-hitters (twice with 2 outs and the bases jammed) when he still had a bat on the bench, and now having to use position players on the mound. Maybe he figured, hey, it's the Mets, we can win this with one arm tied behind our backs.

2010-04-17 10:28:33 PM
dahmers love zombie: Wait, there's a dude on the mound for the first time EVER, and the batter lays down a sac bunt? This is a very strange game.

And this is the second inning of that. They should have left the last guy in. He actually threw a curve.

2010-04-17 10:28:47 PM
Jason Bay's 0 for 7 and already has one golden sombrero? Love it!

2010-04-17 10:28:53 PM
Ironic applause for Mather throwing a strike.

2010-04-17 10:28:54 PM
Let's see a double steal. I mean, why the hell not?

2010-04-17 10:29:29 PM
OOPS...bases jammed.

2010-04-17 10:29:35 PM
Please don't tell me the Mets are going to put up a grand slam here.

2010-04-17 10:29:39 PM
Alright, maybe pitching isn't really his thing.

2010-04-17 10:29:53 PM
A double play would be nice.
