Fishbulb: I've been trying to get all the ho's together for some west coast lovin' but it's just not happening. I see you're in San Diego. I'm in L.A., but will travel 4 booze.

2001-10-02 12:25:40 AM
No not Dallas the club to many Billy Bobs. I never understood why they put their names on the back of their belts? Lets go to The Hula hut on Lake Austin. Lots of nice bOObies.

2001-10-02 12:29:56 AM

2001-10-02 12:30:27 AM
I vaguely seem to remember that the Copper Tank was a great place to drink (but I was really drunk at the time) Just make sure it is after the Texas / Colorado game...

2001-10-02 12:36:20 AM
SAN ANTONIO??? please?

2001-10-02 12:43:16 AM
I turn 21 in late December (29th). Somebody ppppppppllllllleeeeeeeeaaaaaassssssseeeee set up an Oklahoma Fark party for then?

2001-10-02 12:43:35 AM
Good luck, dudes and dudettes! I wish I could link up, but I'll be out of state that weekend. Even if you came here to Big D, it's just not a possibility.

Most Texans have gotten blasted once or twice in Austin. My last time was years ago when I went to see a taping of "Austin City Limits" with Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. (There was a third guy, but...????)

Lone Star Beer--the series' PBS underwriter--provided pitchers of free suds to the audience before, during and after the show. But Willie was late...and most of us were crocked when the tape began to roll.

Luckily, my hotel was only three blocks away from the studios--but it still took me a long time to stagger back there. This was over 15 years ago, and nobody cared. Today I would have been jailed.

Have plenty o' fun in the cap city...but watch your FARKed asses! The Lone Star State has gotten pretty hard-assed on DWI cases--especially since they've found how profitable they are.

SUCKS

Fort Worth rawks. heh

Hula Hut is good. Good food and good atmosphere (perched on Lake Austin). Here is a URL:

http://www.hulahut.com/about_us.html

Shady Grove is good to, though Barton Springs road is under construction:

http://www.theshadygrove.com/

Then there is alwasy 6th street, though both Hula Hut and Shady Grove are not far from it.

Microbob

PS - Ahh, then there is always Lake Travis.

2001-10-02 01:11:38 AM
Kolacky: :P

2001-10-02 01:13:30 AM
Wadafuk KOLACKY?

2001-10-02 01:19:44 AM
sweeeeet...heh

2001-10-02 01:20:47 AM
smoke a fatty for me in Austin!!!!

2001-10-02 01:31:53 AM
Let's pick something other than the chain, frat-type hangouts like Hula Hut and Shady Grove. I vote for Hole in the Wall or some shiat like that. Could do something on 4th street. There are some nice places down there.

2001-10-02 01:35:53 AM
I think avoiding Hula Hut and its ilk is a good idea as well. 6th street is only cool if you haven't done it before, but after that it gets crowded and loud. Why not something less obnoxious? Lake Travis or somewhere nice where we could party legally and loud. Near the water.

2001-10-02 01:39:01 AM
Let's get wings at BW3 and go across the street to LUCY's and listen to some music and get ripped.

2001-10-02 01:47:07 AM
WOW, Hole in the Wall is winning, and its within walking distance of me right now. I go to UT btw. Is there gonna be a party somewhere, cuz I'm 20 and they probably wouldn't let me in.

2001-10-02 02:05:13 AM
I'm in.

2001-10-02 02:17:20 AM
Please consider staying at the Austin Folk House, if you are from out of town. It's Austin's newest B&B, and my wife is the proprieter. It is about $7 from 6th street by cab, and will provide an exquisite breakfast.

The webpage isn't great, but we have been struggling to get set up. Today, we got hot water, and we are done!

http://austinfolkhouse.com

I am voting for the Hole in the Wall. Easy walking distance to Austin Folk House.

CRAP! sorry about that. usrfing and drinking. Bad combo

2001-10-02 02:46:25 AM
Wow.

"Don't drink and bake." -Arnold Schwartzeneggar, Raw Deal.

Downtown? Hmmm... Fado, Lucky Lounge, Gingerman, Copper Tank, Killjoy's, *trying to stay off 6th, but in the area* 6th is fun later, when the need to boogie hits (Element or Polly E's for the cheesers).

My yuppie ass lives up north, but can be anywhere for a FARKstival. I think Dry Creek Landing is a good place for an afternoon beer. It's a dive bar with a perfect lake view, on 2222 near Mt Bonnell, in the midst of million dollar mansions.

Oh, yeah: Oilcan Harry's for the pacifists?

2001-10-02 03:25:52 AM
Coppertank is pretty cool. Hole in the Wall is walking distance for me though. My friend knows a waitress there who waited on Sandra Bullock a couple of weeks ago.

2001-10-02 03:33:20 AM
My vote is for The Salt Lick. It's BYOB, but they don't object to bringing kegs!!! All the BBQ you can eat for $13. They keep bringing it out until you stop eating it. Back in college (all those 8 years ago...) we went out there with 20 people and a keg of Shiner. Got there at noon and stayed until 8pm. Then went back into town and partied hard. Is Pearl Street Co-op still known for its parties?

2001-10-02 03:37:57 AM
We should have the Texas fark party in Seattle so I can go :)

2001-10-02 04:10:49 AM
Sure, I'm down with Salt lick (ummmm...homestyle), but I'd be kind of hard for out of towners to find. If not hole in the wall, then perhaps Posse. If we know there's going to be a big group then we might could work something out with the owners for the underagers.

2001-10-02 04:12:54 AM
No onw will let us have it at their house?

2001-10-02 04:14:07 AM
So we're thinking of making this an entire weekend shindig? It may be difficult to keep the party going when folks are popping in and out. Maybe we should just plan on one specific evening, and then those who want to keep on partying through the weekend can do so. What I want to know is, is Mon gonna put us all up if we drive out there? :)

2001-10-02 04:27:57 AM
Hopefully someone will, I need somewhere to crash.

2001-10-02 05:03:41 AM
awright farkers.....i happen to be a bartender and the events coordinater at the club deville...i nice little anything goes cocktail bar on ninth and red river....far enough away from sixthe street to be comfortable, close enough for everyone to wander off to 6th and go wherever you wan't. besides. redriver is better than sixth, anyhow. what with ocean's eleven, 710, red eyed fly, beerland and emo's......spiro's if you wanna shake yr butt, etc......

put it this way guys....we can start the fark party at the club deville at the back bar and i can maybe hook up a cheap keg (if enough people show up) so we can at least start the whole weekend drinking free beer.....

hole in the wall would be great but it's kind of a destination club, if you know what i mean......

fark copper tank and hula hut and all that crapola.....you guys are much cooler than that.......i can hook us up at club deville...

mon, email me: witchbanger[nospam-﹫-backwards]liamtoh*com we can work out the details.....

i could maybe even book a couple of bands to play that night......

whaddya think

2001-10-02 05:11:35 AM
oh yeah, fark fado and fark the spaghetti warehouse district...........

chickee is yr friend that waited on sandra bullock named krystal? i know her. my band played the night sandra and her dumbass boyfriend were there.

woody dry creek forever cept for that old lady is kind of a coont sometimes.....maybe deep eddy?

2001-10-02 07:14:41 AM

hmmm... I think I will be there for work the following week... guess I will miss another party.

maybe some of you will want to entertain me when I am there, a follow up party, sort of an aftershock.

2001-10-02 09:05:22 AM
Let's get wings at BW3 and go across the street to LUCY's and listen to some music and get ripped. BMR68.- I second that. Also this is great it is the weekend of my B-day Oct. 21

2001-10-02 09:06:08 AM
Damn just finished the comments and Grapey's idea sounds great too.

2001-10-02 09:07:23 AM
One last thing before I stop. Lucy's also has Power hour 9-10 anything in the house $1. I have gone through 4 Rum and Cokes in a tall glass in a half and hour there before. Cheap and Fun.

2001-10-02 09:27:10 AM
Dear god, I was almost born the same day as Bill Cosby, with his hippin and his hoping. You know, kids these days dont listen to the jazz music, they listen to the .... blah blah blah

2001-10-02 09:39:27 AM
Damn, damn, damn! I'm also out of TX that weekend!

2001-10-02 09:41:45 AM
Jeez... it's funny how some people become very polarized about their choice of Austin haunts.

I certainly have my preferences and aversions, but I haven't ever really precluded many of Austin's booze, food, snatch and music joints. I live on the north side of Austin (Woody, can you say Arboretum? ;)) but sometimes you've just got to go slummin' and sometimes a man needs some freaky action. Why be limited to 1 type of venue?

Before I got married in Feb. I could put on a Donna Karan shirt and kick it pretense-style in the Warehouse district with some yuppie women... or just as easily go for a pierced and tatt'ed freak-honey at the filthy-ass Ritz or Casino El Camino. I also had tons-o-fun getting thrown out of some of the cheesiest bars on 6th for lewd behavior (farkin' sluts) like the now defunct Planet Austin and Treasure Island. I've also had some never-forgettable nights at the the Red Room (now Velvet) watching world-class DJ's like Oakenfold, Digweed or Icey then hooking up with a rave-chick tag team. (mmmm... pierced tongues can be good)

Damn... I never knew some Austinites could be so narrow! ;) :p

2001-10-02 09:46:37 AM
I was gonna suggest Kansas, but my fiance would kill & dismember *gulp* me.

2001-10-02 09:55:05 AM
I really like the club deville. WOuld be a great place to start.
Grapey, you are events coordinator there? I used to go there a bit. Live in Dallas now. I still hit it somtimes when I am in Austin.

"chickee is yr friend that waited on sandra bullock named krystal? i know her. my band played the night sandra and her dumbass boyfriend were there"

Dark haired girl, was a party promoter/planner for a while? Cute and very nice. I know her too. (Same girl?)

2001-10-02 10:00:32 AM
I've got to admit... somehow I've never made it over to de ville. :o

What's the skinny, guys? What kind of music? What kind of crowd? What's it look like (on the inside)?

2001-10-02 10:25:02 AM
damn! I just moved away from Austin too! I sugest Coppertank. cheap beer and lots o' room

2001-10-02 10:27:44 AM
DALLAS DALLAS DALLAS DALLAS DALLAS DALLAS DALLAS DALLAS DALLAS, the ladies are the best here. Nice big boobies and nice beavers.

2001-10-02 10:31:41 AM
Club Deville makes some mean drinks. I'm for having it there.

2001-10-02 10:39:19 AM
Club DeVille . . . The music is The Stones, Velvet Underground, and other cool classic rock. The crowd is loose (partly due to the bartenders' pours) and there are plenty of boobies. The appearance is dark, at least on the inside, and kinda swanky. It has a huge patio outside with a bunch of shiat hanging from trees.

There you go, Baloneyflaps.

2001-10-02 10:40:44 AM
Plankton knows how to throw a party....I say we all just meet at his place........
Yea Devill is a cool hang out that is ok in local too....
I hear Peter pan mini golf is cheap to rent out...and you can bring kegs...and if we had booth sides (2 sets of 18 holes) there would be no outsiders there so we could.......

Mon
2001-10-02 10:45:08 AM
Grapey's idea sounds great!!
I'm not very particular on where to go to to drink and stuff.. its all good to me. Yuppies, dragrats, whatever..
I live walking distance to hole in the wall, but it might be too small.. besides, starting at Club Deville is not only more appealing but a helluva lot easier considering we have the events coordinator on our side.. :)

If you guys want, I can put a page together with a list of ppl who are going to go.. then we'll have an idea of how many people will be there, give directions, places to stay (like Plankton's place) and all that good stuffs.

I'm going to the UT vs Colorado game! anyone else?

Mon
2001-10-02 10:47:09 AM
hahh, PvtStash, we could always do something like that on friday and do something like mini golf or disc golf or cliff diving on saturday, something constructive that shows how cool austin is :) though i suck at mini golf..

2001-10-02 11:01:57 AM
Yea i was going there one night and couldn't becausesome group had rennted out the place. I peeked around and saw they had about 6 kegs set up around the place (looked liked forced drinking on some of the holes) and i smelled a particulerly plesent smelling herb in the air...

2001-10-02 11:09:25 AM
Ya'll should have the Texas Fark-o-rama at a centrally located place where many farkers may attend. I'm thinking

Birmingham, Ala.

2001-10-02 11:13:07 AM
I'm in Houston but I think I can make it to Austin ok. Is there is centralized repository of information about this get-together?

Mon
2001-10-02 11:26:15 AM
Not yet Jimmycurn but I'm asking people to tell me if they're definately going to go so I can make a page with a list.. to kinda solidify the plans :)

2001-10-02 11:32:12 AM
So many good ideas and if we are making a weekend of it we should have a couple of ideas. I agree with Mon that on Sat. a good jumping point would be Deville. Then on Fri and Sat afternoon do the other stuff.

2001-10-02 11:35:18 AM
After reading Mons last post if you can't tell I am all set to be there on the weekend of the 20th.

2001-10-02 11:51:24 AM
Grapey - I don't actually know her. My friend is really good friends with her.

2001-10-02 11:53:31 AM
don't forget:

http://austinfolkhouse.com

it's where you want to stay. Very central Austin, walking distance to the Hole in the Wall.

2001-10-02 11:56:05 AM
PvtStash,
Given the number of ppl who might show, I don't want to host such a large group at my house. Too bad Waterloo is gone.

I think the Hole in the Wall or the Gingerman would be cool.

2001-10-02 12:20:22 PM
I'm in. Whereever. I work/live downtown Austin so that's my preference.

2001-10-02 01:15:23 PM
I'm going whereever it is. I have a big ass ranch house in NW Austin (Anderson Mill) we can possibly use depending on how many people are coming. There is crash space and no neighbors.

2001-10-02 01:21:59 PM
I'm down for an Southern California party. I'm in OC. Contact me to set something. My emails in my bio.

FISHBULB, GIDGET: I'm half way between you two. We should party at my place. :)

2001-10-02 01:25:55 PM
Dangit! I just realized I have to teach on Sunday morning...so, I can't make it out of Dallas. And I was going to volunteer as the Designated Driver since I don't drink...just wanted to hang out with some Farkers...looks like I'm stuck in Dallas... )=

2001-10-02 01:28:20 PM
We need an East Coast fark party. grrr.

2001-10-02 01:54:41 PM
Just a headsup, the 20th is UT homecoming weekend, so the college area should be hopping on Saturday night, unless UT gets beat by Colorado.

I'ld vote for The Salt Lick, but that road can be a bit rough, unless we have lots of Designated Drivers.

2001-10-02 01:58:34 PM
Damn!

...there's a lot of Austin Farkers!

2001-10-02 02:16:21 PM
Casino el Camino is the ATX's tightest bar. Best jukebox in town, fat burgers, 2 dollar pints, and a locale nestled in the throbbing, alcoholic heart of the city, 6th street. Also, no muscleheaded cretins a la the Coppertank. And Mr. Lifto works the bar!Word!

2001-10-02 02:24:05 PM
Also to note, Friday the 19th Tenacious D is playing at the Austin Music Hall.

2001-10-02 02:42:57 PM
Well, I'm just getting into Texas that weekend. This yankee is goin south! :)

2001-10-02 03:05:05 PM
Grapey - Your idea sounds great to me.

Anyone wanna carpool/caravan from Dallas?

Free Beer is best, money is tight around here these days.

2001-10-02 04:31:26 PM
Hell ya fark in Austin!

That is so awsome i had to make an account name!

2001-10-02 04:47:43 PM
A DAL-AUS CARPOOL/CARAVAN WOULD BE COOL. EMAIL ME @ SHYSTER[nospam-﹫-backwards]NOISULLOC*ORG

2001-10-02 06:37:21 PM
I updated the page! Take a look .:)

2001-10-02 06:42:05 PM
shiat!!! I just might be able to go! My wife's going to a wedding in Temple on the 19th. I haven't really talked to any of you Farkers much, but what the hell! I'll let ya know.

2001-10-02 08:17:56 PM
Heh-- I would go, but I have PSAT's that day, and somehow I doubt you guys want a 16 year old hanging around while you drink beer.

=)

2001-10-02 09:43:05 PM
KLING... I'll meet you there, wherever it may be. Downtown/South is my preference. The RITZ on SIXTH is kickass, lots of pool tables and a sweet upstairs lounge.

2001-10-02 11:02:04 PM
Damn! Doesn't look like I'm gonna make it this year.

Oh well, I'm not gonna be going to Beltain this year either. Maybe next time around.

2001-10-03 03:38:14 AM
annaonmythra i'm playing guitar in the band that i s opening for tenacious d in austin and new orleans. we're called the diamond smugglers and we're kind of a neil diamond tribute/ cover band. meaning we do some diamond songs but we do other songs in the style of neil diamond. we do a killer version of ace of spades as diamond, for example......

we're playing the wed before 10/19 in new orleans so you louisiana farkers should come out!!!!

club deville is here for fark, what else can i say...

grapey

2001-10-03 12:28:18 PM
I'm all for Club de Ville. Great martinis, great booths. Sounds like a winnah!

2001-10-03 01:01:10 PM
I'll be there with bells on

2001-10-03 02:25:41 PM
Anyone considered Buffalo Billiards or Roxy...if you go to bars to play pool, you are a pool player if you go to just drink ...

Also if anyone wants to go south, farther than 4th street that is, the Wherehouse is not to bad (Ben wt. s/o congress)

I'd offer my S.Austin hovel for a crash pad or party sight,
but it already looks like it's been fark partied hard.

We could really treat the out-o-towners to a treat and do a hard core crawl...Horseshoe->New Chapperal ->Virginias->any old ditch.

2001-10-03 02:48:11 PM
count me in brothas & sistas. although what does one really do at a fark party? tag each other's comments as COOL or ASININE? hmm...
deville is the lick, though. wish that saturday was kareoke night...

2001-10-03 03:00:19 PM
Add my happy ass to the list of FARKERS in Austin.... I wanna play tooo!
PRIME!

2001-10-03 03:04:17 PM
My wife is going to Hawaii and I get to go to a FARK....party....wait...just a farkin' inute. What the hell is wrong with this picture? Holy, FARKIN' shiat! I am getting the short end of the stick... dammit. Oh well, might as well get drunk with another bunch of farkin' idiots!!!!!!
PRIME!
