Welcome to Bizarro World, where America socializes corporate debt failure & corporate risk and Russia cracks down on corporate bribery.

Corporate welfare is good for MegaCorp.

Of course it's corporate welfare.

If any of you have a better way to turn merika into a third world country I'd like to hear it.

Non-story; they just didn't bribe the Russians enough.

I have a few ideas. Problem is that Bush, Greenspan, and Obama have implemented all of them already.

Only one we haven't done yet is, "Carpet bomb New York and LA."

It's funny in a perverted kind of way. Seeing all the talking heads going on and on about a recovery the same war Bush and Co were in 2002-2004 ish. Proudly showing the results of their action that averted a crisis. Years later we see that nothing was averted, just pushed off for later. Nothing was solved, only hidden.

Oy, boychik, I forgot to send this month's bribery check to the under minister for taxes and regulations since I was too busy banging Medvedev's nieces in the banya. But what's the worst that could happen? Blyah

Russia is pathetically corrupt. As much as we're failing today, there is still no comparison.

THIS

The irony is IF HP hadn't paid that bribe many of their local personnel and even the negotiators would have been arrested on some trumpted up charges.

I'm willing to bet that the Russians are making this bust because of an inter-agency turf fight and or they got a better offer from a German company.

Here we call corporate bribers "lobbyists".

It's almost always about turf battle and almost never about justice.

If you think the US economy is anywhere CLOSE to as farked up, corrupt, and crazy as Russia's economy, you know absolutely nothing about the economies of either country.

Americans have simply legalized it; it's called "lobbying".
