Just post those. They'll make more sense than most Tweets.

I'm never sure when BBSpot articles get greenlight who is trolling who... Did BBSpot get the Subby? Did the Subby get the Admins? Or are all three in collusion to get us?

old_toole: Having never used Twitter (and never will) is this bad or good?

Considering that Twitters appeal is simple quick broadcasting of 140 characters or less (on average probably significantly less), adding another 10 characters of typing a capcha could significantly impact the time it takes to post and thus removing part of the appeal.

Wow, BBspot is still around with their amazingly unfunny humor. I rank them somewhere between 'family circus' and 'Marmaduke'.

I wonder who keeps going to this site and finding it amusing. Mormons, maybe?

I'm just thankful they have a very noticeable logo. So I can avoid clicking on their links. How the hell do they keep getting greenlit?

CygnusDarius: Aren't there bots already that can go through captcha?.

some captchas, yes..but probably not with 100% accuracy.
The best captchas in my opinion are any of the ones that have over-lapping characters and distinct changes in background color (to provide false-positive edges)

The simpler ones that just distort lettering can be figured out by some programs.

New Captcha is the ultimate goal.

Someday the bots will be so good and the captchas so hard that the only way to tell if someone is human is if they mess up on the captcha.

If there is not a Hell, one needs to be created specifically for people that like to use these. For eternity every thing they want to do will be preceded by a CAPTCHA. Brush your teeth, CAPTCHA. Use the toaster, CAPTCHA. Take a dump, CAPTCHA!

Yes, that would make me happy.

I wonder if anyone has done an analysis on how much productivity is lost due to incorrectly answering a CAPTCHA?

StoPPeRmobile: I wonder if anyone has done an analysis on how much productivity is lost due to incorrectly answering a CAPTCHA?

Not as much as the amount lost to spambots. Captchas exist for a good reason.

"Regular people" suck to follow on Twitter-- no one cares where you're about to go shopping. I only follow comedians on Twitter, and reading their tweets are a great way to pass the time.

Here's some good ones:
Simon Pegg (@simonpegg)and his alter-ego Jet Bike Steve (@realJBS)
Conan O'Brien (@ConanOBrien)
Alec Sulkin (@thesulk)
Peter Serafinowicz (@serafinowicz)
Scott Aukerman (@ScottAukerman)
Steve Agee (@steveagee)
Paul F. Tompkins (@PFTompkins)
Joe Rogan (@joerogandotnet)
Aziz Ansari (@azizansari)
Rob Huebel (@robhuebel)
Rob Corddry (@robcorddry)
Paul Sheer (@paulscheer)
DougBenson (@DougBenson)

Funny non-comedians on Twitter:
Jesus Christ (@Jesus_M_Christ)
Kelly Oxford (@kellyoxford)
@shiatmydadsays
Caprice Crane (@capricecrane)-- who I suspect is a Farker
Weird Al Yankovic (@alyankovic)

That, and the amazon mechanical turk. A huge load of captcha tasks would occasionally come up and I think they may have paid 4 cents per captcha. They were snapped up as fast as anything.

Heh, well I guess it's a good thing I have no plans to be a Twitter user, new or otherwise. They even speak of wanting to roll it out to everyone if it seems to be working on the newbies. On the extra plus side, I can now look forward to Twitter dying a painful death in Internet obscurity and never having to hear about all these twats anymore.

Because captchas are and always have been completely retarded. My eyes work fine. I can read upside down, sideways, backwards, you name it, and I still often have to sit and squint at those stupid things for a minute or two, then still fark it up because I don't know if that's a 1 or an l or a retarded z. If I fail a captcha more than once on a site, I'm outta there. It can't possibly be that important that I'm going to fark around just so some spammers have more work to do. There is a better solution: Public torture and brutal execution is the best deterrent I can see, and then we can have our Internet back.

ITT: People who hate something they don't understand or know how to use.

feanturi: I still often have to sit and squint at those stupid things for a minute or two,

Twitter uses ReCAPTCHA. They're always fairly easy to read, there's a rule that makes them damn easy (one word they know the answer for, one they do not.. so only worry about the easiest to read word), and if some spammer manages to crack it, they're helping to digitize books.

Yeah, unless you care enough about a person to hear about their day, most average people (including celebrities) have boring tweets.

Comedians are great to follow, and it's nice to follow some news sites (I guess you could use RSS instead).

A Few of my suggestions for interesting people who don't tweet every little thing every 10 minutes:

@DalaiLama (Even if you're atheist/non-theist, he says generally nice things)
@omarepps
@stephenfry
@bobbyllew

@brickonator (me, lol)

/Uses "Echofon" but still call it TwitterFox.

2010-04-15 01:57:48 PM
The 100 does seem a bit silly. If a bot can do it once, what is significant about 100? It really just seems to be a senseless pain in the behind for tweeters.

\\I am not a tweeter, so who cares
//My favorite tweeter @rocco718
