that 13 dollar cup of joe is bought by the same 2% of the population that stole 1.2 Trillion of middle/working class wealth these last 2 years.

why would they be concerned about a 13 dollar cup of caffeine??

its America's new Aristocracy that doesn't mind spending someone else's money.

if u didn't have to work for it, its easy to spend.

There is nothing non-alcoholic in Baltimore that is worth 13 dollars to drink.

Wait... So to celebrate the end of superfluous spending, we should spend superfluously?

Brilliant!

You know your city has arrived when somebody can charge $13 for a cup of coffee.

Arrived in Douchetown, that is.

Or that extra $5 to see this headline a couple hours before the freepers...

Sorry Mr. Bold Text, but I'd probably try a $13 at least once just to see what the fuss was about. And I guarantee I'm not part of that 2%. I'm just a coffee geek.

It would be funny if you were kidding, but that is the message some are trying to spread.

"Spend more you damn fools to get the economy back on it's feet!!"

It's not a bad plan, but America cannot continue to consume at the rate it does while the rest of the world is champing at the bit to catch up to our extraordinarily high standard of living*

*Taking into account current standards of living around the globe, as well as historical levels.

i guess you are suppossed to give them a $20 and put the 'change' in the tip jar.

Sounds pretty stupid. I can get some really awesome whole beans from Mariposa Coffee Co for $8.50 a pound(that's half the price of, say, a pound of Peet's) and have better coffee than any "luxury coffee shop" or whatever this place is

I'd rather spend reasonably and retire 5 years earlier and go live in a national park somewhere.. But that's just me.

Sounds like good marketing to narcissistic douche bags.

"It is very juicy, fruity, good mouth feel, medium bodied"
Are we sure that the $13 is for coffee?
I would assume a "good mouth feel" costs more than $13 but then again this is B-more.

I'm already sick of restaurants and bars thinking that $7-8 is perfectly reasonable to charge for a cocktail. And then they make it with bottom shelf ingredients.

*sigh* time to rebuild the home bar.

that's why you need a good dive bar. 2$ drinks and generally generous with the booze as the bottles aren't measured after the night is over because they're still making good money regardless of if they gave you half an ounce too much whiskey
