Hollywood: Hopelessly devoted to poo.

Dear Hollywood:

FARK YOU! FARK YOU ALL!

That is all.

Pete and Repeat were sitting on a fence. Pete fell off, who was left?

But seeing as CNN.com has decided this is somehow front-page news I guess it deserves another mention here on Fark.

Maybe it's like Spielberg was with the Indy saga -- making part 3 to apologize for part 2.

2003-05-05 05:40:27 PM
I heard about this a while back, i don't know where (i certainly wasn't looking for it), and there was speculation over a Ricky Martin/Britney spectacle...the humanity!

2003-05-05 05:42:29 PM
Grease 2 came out before the internet and my access to daddy's skin mags...sometimes killing kittens required some imagination, Michelle Peiffer in this flick helped out a lot. (I wanna cccooolll rider, a coo-coo-coolll rider!)

This is the worst movie news I've heard since Ben Affleck and J-Lo got the green light for the "Casablanca" remake.

No, wait, that's still the worst.

2003-05-05 05:43:53 PM
hmm...the morgan webb link vanished? weird. tastes like chicken.

oh! grease 3, yeah - no "hollywood is out of ideas" mention?

Battlefield Earth surrenders.

2003-05-05 05:45:32 PM
What the hell would this movie even be about? A mid-life crisis or crisises? Two divorcees meet up after and start singing and dancing like retards? Second coming of Chirst, or another sign of the apocoylspe? Two people in their mid-40s go back to high school because they never graduated 'cause they're farking morons and sing and dance to 21st century high schoolers who kick their asses? Wasn't the orginal movie set back in the 50s, so this one will be set in the 80s or 90s and about stupid shiat?

Anyway--
Dear Hollywood,

I hope you burn in hell. You suck. You produce maybe 5 good movies a year now and pour out more senseless crap than the Internet. I hate you. Please die slowly and painfully.

Your favorite farker,
Auckum

I think I'm done with my rant now.

2003-05-05 05:47:30 PM
I bet you have to sit through 15 minutes of ads for Metamucil and depends before the movie even starts..

2003-05-05 05:47:47 PM
**NEWSFLASH**

Hollywood has been doing this for ages. 5 good movies a year? Much better odds than the past 50 years.

2003-05-05 05:48:02 PM
Yes, but will it have JarJar?

2003-05-05 05:48:48 PM
I loudly panned this during the days when this was being touted as a Spears/Timberlake debacle. If Travolta and Newton-John go for it, and enough of the original cast makes cameos, you've got gauranteed camp value to bank on. If there's a good story to go along with it, that's a license to print money.

I won't pass judgement on Grease 2; I can't even get past the opening number.

2003-05-05 05:49:26 PM
Big Al I think you're estimating on the generous side. I would say there are four "watchable" big budget movies per year and one "good" one every two years.

2003-05-05 05:51:24 PM
*sniff* *sniff*

smells like scientologist all over this one.

2003-05-05 05:54:07 PM
"The plan is to set the new project in the late-'70s, feature plenty of disco music [...]"

Hmmmm... Travolta related... Plenty of disco music...
They've never heard of Saturday Night Fever, have they?

2003-05-05 05:54:12 PM

I believe they already made this movie. I seem to remember it was called

2003-05-05 05:55:44 PM
Maybe it won't be all that bad. If it's good ol' disco music and all. At least there'll be fun costumes. And maybe the return of Chi Chi De Gregorio.

2003-05-05 05:55:46 PM
maybe it will be called Saturday Night Grease Fever??

2003-05-05 05:55:50 PM
Premise:
Former students return to old high school as the staff. Unable to let go of the fun they had and still looking to relive their teenage years, they live vicariously through their children. All the while pushing their kids to do cheesy, ridiculous songs every 7 minutes and break into spontaneous choreographed dance moves. Who will possibly end up pregnant? Who will be the beauty school dropout? Who will dress like a whore?

2003-05-05 05:55:55 PM
5 seconds??? CURSE YOU, G026R!!!!

although I should get a pass for including the poster

2003-05-05 05:55:58 PM
Airplane > Saturday Night Fever

2003-05-05 05:55:58 PM
There was a grease 2?!?

2003-05-05 05:56:23 PM
If I have to hear Summertime Love one more time I could kill!

2003-05-05 05:58:15 PM
An earlier article I read about this pegged a thirty-something Kylie Minogue playing the offspring of Travolta and Newton-John. Not only are they going to try and repeat the success of Grease, but they are also going to try their hand at having an actress play someone half her age. I don't know if this is gonna work or not, but hey Kylie has a nice booty so it could be all good in the end.

2003-05-05 05:58:39 PM
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but this one will have the original cast in it.

2003-05-05 06:00:15 PM
At least they're bringing back some of the original cast.

And I hope they have at least one production number in a bowling alley.

2003-05-05 06:00:23 PM
Maybe it won't be all that bad. If it's good ol' disco music and all. At least there'll be fun costumes. And maybe the return of Chi Chi De Gregorio.

If probability of condition 1 equals 0, then overall probability is 0.

2003-05-05 06:02:44 PM
I did it all for the Wookie.

2003-05-05 06:17:57 PM
I saw the article, and was fully expecting a "Hollywood out of ideas" on the tag here.

Jonny2K1,
There was also some rumor going around that good ol' Brittney Spears would be playing playing the offspring of Travolta and Newton-John. Where's the "voting enabled" tag when you need it???

2003-05-05 06:20:20 PM
Sure, Grease 2 sucked for the most part, but who could ever forget the most stirring number in the movie?

"Re-pro-duc-tion....."

2003-05-05 06:40:25 PM
I seem to remember this from awhile ago.... Wasn't it rumored Kylie Minogue would be playing John and Olivia's demon spawn?

2003-05-05 06:42:29 PM
Sidi:
Good formula except one slight problem not taken into account. 1 != 0. Reminds me of when some nutball kid my senior year figured out a long formula proving 1=2; what whas the problem you ask? 1 DOESN'T equal 2, but at least he tried....

2003-05-05 06:45:33 PM
Grease 2 1/2 first would make just as much sense.

And cents.

2003-05-05 06:49:29 PM
Binoboy it was meant to be a joke, but I would say that the null set of songs that are "disco" and "good" is equal to zero, thus the probability of having good disco music is 0.

2003-05-05 06:51:47 PM
I think I would prefer Naked Gun 33 1/3...

2003-05-05 06:53:30 PM
to all the "grease" fans out there, you are

2003-05-05 06:53:51 PM
Will it have breastussess?

2003-05-05 07:03:54 PM
Now I'm convinced that my screenplay has a decent chance.

Regardless of how bad a movie sounds, remember that it's all in how it's pitched to the execs. In this case, one hell of a pitch was thrown at Paramount. So good was it that they decided that THIS WAS A GREAT IDEA FOR A MOVIE.
