rest of the crazy cartoon wasn't as good, unfortunately .. should have saved helicow for last

only eggs i found were at the end: click on steve on the picture of the picture of cheat's imac, and click on his cd drive to get aim buddy icons. sometimes they add more eggs in later during the day though, so we can only hope. eh, steve!

2003-05-05 10:29:41 AM
hey-a steve!
2003-05-05 10:30:57 AM
About time Strongbad got on here, I was starting to get worried there wasn't a new one this week.
2003-05-05 10:31:08 AM
that cartoon looks like it was done by a twelve-years-old boy.

the visual style is...... lacking. it's like he doesn't even care!
2003-05-05 10:32:45 AM
That was extremely strange. Good stuff.
2003-05-05 10:33:04 AM
Have a trophy.

2003-05-05 10:33:41 AM
I am intrigued by do you say??

Ah yes... Email

2003-05-05 10:33:41 AM
i love homesar
2003-05-05 10:34:18 AM
I used to have that keyboard.

Ah, that haunting demo tune...
2003-05-05 10:34:32 AM
hah.. that was cool..

I used to have that little electronic piano with that demo music when I was a weeeeee little laddy.
2003-05-05 10:34:38 AM
ah yes, the casio vl-tone. you could write music on it and do your math homework with it.
2003-05-05 10:34:40 AM
The old keyboard that replaces Strongbad's head is one of these:

[image from too old to be available]

And a nice page of information all about it.

Ironicly though, I had a muppet babies keyboard when i was in Kindergarden that made the exact same demo song. Yum, nostaliga.
2003-05-05 10:34:49 AM
ay Steve!
2003-05-05 10:35:28 AM
trez: yep yep.
2003-05-05 10:35:32 AM
Wow a Casio keyboard! That's a blast from the past. I died laughing at that part. I spent hours trying to play that darn demo...

Maybe a pizza trophy..
2003-05-05 10:35:51 AM
I'm gonna have to rate this one "slighty above average." While it's always nice to see The Cheat's unique animation style, the writing on the Sweet Cuppin' Cakes short was well below the standard gut-busting craziness The Brothers Chaps are capable of. And where the fark's my trophy?

Overall, Homestar & company still kick ass!
2003-05-05 10:36:54 AM
DunkinBean! Yes!! aww.. I want my Casio vltone baaaack :(

sniff.. all the cool tempo settings and that kewl demo music..
2003-05-05 10:38:13 AM
Anyone else find another Easter Egg or is Steve the only one this week?

I agree, slightly above average this week.

That was sub-par.

Now, if it would have included something about chewing powders or parsnips, I might have enjoyed it better.

The keyboard part was really funny though. I didn't get the trophy thing or the kick in the face thing either.
2003-05-05 10:39:43 AM
Oh, my. That one sure was bad.
2003-05-05 10:40:01 AM
I'ma call you Josh.

2003-05-05 10:41:08 AM
You know, I like Homestar Runner and everything, but they should have stopped it before showing The Cheat's cartoon. It just got slow and awkward at that point.
2003-05-05 10:43:19 AM
It would seem that the concensus is that just about everyone who is in their 30's had one of those casio keyboards. I drove my parents nuts with mine. Thought I would be the new synth player for Thompson Twins.

Never happened though.

That chort's one great cartoon maker guy.

About time Strongbad got on here, I was starting to get worried there wasn't a new one this week.

So, if you're in that much of a hurry, go to It's been up for over 4 hours.
2003-05-05 10:46:57 AM
I find that many of the 'toons that at first view do not seem very funny often become hilarious upon further viewing. I remember being extremely unimpressed by the Decemberween Pageant the first time I saw it, but now I can't think about it without going into fits. "It's on the moon--it's a moon computer."
2003-05-05 10:48:00 AM
hahahah.. I killed that HTML

2003-05-05 10:48:49 AM
"I'll get you steve if it's the last thing I do!"

You know, with this and Red v. Blue, my Sunday and Monday are really good. Basically, these two toons bookend the Fox Sunday night and Adult Swim. Good times.
2003-05-05 10:49:36 AM
Kinda slow this week. Oh well, there's always next week to look forward to.
2003-05-05 10:50:01 AM
I had a casio that made the same song...looked just like that keyboard, only without the LCD.
2003-05-05 10:53:39 AM
In a word:

I was raised by a cup of coffee!
2003-05-05 11:02:44 AM
2003-05-05 11:05:34 AM
Must admit, that was a little weirder than most.

/i give it 3 out of 5 trophies
2003-05-05 11:06:53 AM
That is so weird because my old boyfriend Jordan used to call me Sweet Cuppin' Cakes! Weird. Weird.
2003-05-05 11:09:32 AM
Thenetbox :

Ahhh...the memories of monophonic keyboards with no midi, 3 built in sounds, and drums that were slightly modified versions of those 3 sounds.
2003-05-05 11:09:56 AM
What if his name was JOSH?

2003-05-05 11:15:33 AM
The Cheat uses Flash to make his cartoons :)
2003-05-05 11:19:08 AM
Ack! I had that cheap little Casio synthesizer when I was a kid! It doubled as a calculator. I had the dorkiest calculator in algebra.

Ah...I never thought I'd hear that Casio music ever again. Anyone got a .wav file?
2003-05-05 11:24:02 AM
Back in the day, I could play the theme to Zelda almost perfectly on those Casio keyboards, among other things. It sounded good when played in the "fantasy" setting. But I could never touch the demo, which had sounds my keyboard couldn't produce.
2003-05-05 11:26:34 AM
I had the dorkiest calculator in algebra.

I find that statement indescribably sad on many levels.
2003-05-05 11:26:55 AM
Bubs as a wheelchair. I love it.
2003-05-05 11:28:52 AM
Hey a Steve (a.k.a. Thenetbox)

Thanks for the MP3

:-< <----me getting misty-eyed
2003-05-05 11:29:28 AM
old iMac =)
2003-05-05 11:39:07 AM
Crazy cow cartoon = funny
Steve = Farking hysterical
The Cheat's cartoon = teh l4m3
2003-05-05 11:40:51 AM
The whole thing was poking fun of a bunch of the flash animations you find everywhere (especially, which alot of times make no sense. If you are one of the people who think Homestar Runner is unfunny, then I'd hate to see your reaction to 75% of other flash animations.
2003-05-05 11:42:54 AM
okay, now, im one of the hugest homestar/strong bad fans out there, but i just didnt laugh once during this one, was it just me? it had to be the worst strong bad that ive ever seen
