Interesting. I'd like to see him in a Patriots uniform, myself.

If he wants to play for the shiatty Jets, let him go. He did so well in Washington.

Rumors are buzzing in NYc that he signing the deal right now. Makes sense for him if you think about it. I know we will welcome him with open arms.

He left off "after using the rest of the AFC East as stalking horses to get the most cash possible".

Are there any Miami Dolphin fans left?

Saw him out at dinner with his family at a local restaurant about two weeks ago. My wife left me right then and there. That dude's a stud.

He's playing the Jets to try and get Miami to pony up. He did the same thing with the Pats last year. It's no coincidence he's threatening to sign with teams who not only are hated divisional rivals, but also teams that have a not-so-friendly attitude towards Bill Parcells. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me for Parcells to say 'enough of this bullshiat' and let him walk. At his age, there are better options available for the Fins. Let him hog the camera when the Jets are on Hard Knocks.

I was hoping the headline might be about the dolphins thinking about some restricted free agent. shucks.

whatever happened to matt roth after they got pissed at him btw? thought he was a pretty good strong side.

JT probably no big loss.

This had better just be posturing for more money from Miami, if he goes to the Jets I think I will puke. Thats nearly as bad as Fav-re playing for the Vikes.

Yeah, that was about the time they remembered they were the Jets, and that they are motherless.

That doesn't make sense. It's widely acknowledged that the difference in that game was when Manning turned it on starting with the last 2 minutes of the first half. Did you see some of the pinpoint passes he made?

While you do present a more plausible analysis, but I'm sticking with my original hypothesis, based upon my knowledge (as a long time Dolphin fan) that the Jets suck.

Like Gholston except the Pats might actually want Taylor.

I support your original hypothesis, also I believe that Rex Ryan actually ate what was left of the Jets chances right before the Colts dismantled them. If you watch footage of the game you can see it

You see I like this guy. hes honest. But IMO why would Taylor sign with anyone in the division except the Jets. Sure theres the I wanna finish my career in Miami. But why? So he can lose ten games? Jets have the best shot at a title, and Taylor knows this. To me its a simple choice.

Oh yea and theres the whole, he wants to become a recognized public figure (Which is why he was on dancing with the stars) and NY might give him the spotlight he needs, especially with hard knocks coming to the team. Couple that with the fact that like it or not, people want to play for Rex Ryan, and its seems like a great move for Taylor. sorry guys, but im pretty sure this is gonna happen.

vinnydoz007:

1. He has talked to the press for years about how he hates the Jets, and especially their fans, who are a fickle bunch at best (yourself excluded, naturally).

b. He knows the Dolphins were a few blown plays away from winning ten or eleven games again last year.

III. The Jets, on the other hand, got two free wins, caught their two toughest opponents out of sync in weeks 1 and 2, and tend to suck hardest when expectations are highest.

I agree he's just fishing for more money. If he does sign with somebody else, Jake Long will beat his raggedy ass.

So I guess every ESPN analyst is wrong too. You should submit your resume immediatly. although you may be overqualified.

And just to clarify, i meant within the AFC East.

Huh...hasn't he been tossed around for sloppy thirds/fourths/fifths enough? I think people pickign him up are looking at tape from 4-5 years ago...

for the sake of the J-E-T-S fans, hopefully they aren't paying him a whopper of a contract.

they actually cant give him more than Feelys base contract or something like that. Weird uncapped rules and such. If he signs it wont be for a lot.

Good Luck trying to get Braylon Edwards to catch anything but a cold. Dirty Sanchez is going to throw 20+ picks this year, write it down and talk to me when the Jets season is over by week 12

I was wishing your team luck and acknowledging your commitment to them; if that upsets you, I apologize.

This thread is funny because the Jets aren't even going to win 8 games this year. Hell, they shouldn't even have made the playoffs last year, they certainly didn't deserve to. They were given 2 free wins, one by the team that eventually beat them, so that they could potentially be in that position to beat them (which they ultimately did).

Again, the Jets will NOT win 8 or more games this year. Wake up to reality. Sanchez sucks, the running back system is a horrible mess now with the best running back leaving, and the defense is now praying for guys that are past their prime.

Good luck. And before you think I'm bias I'm a Viking fan. I could care less about your division, I just know the Jets suck on paper and on the field.

Too funny.

The True Jets Fan is aware that "like a True Jets fan" is actually a veiled insult in 99.99% of situations. You see, every spring, the chatter starts...then builds up over a summer of camp rumors and positive news from Hofstra to a crescendo of triumph in late August, when it is widely proclaimed across the seas of White and Green that the upcoming season is a mere formality...a bothersome preamble that must be endured before the J-E-T-S savor their rightful possession of the Lombardi Trophy.

Every...farking...year.

Hey, I distinctly remember them winning at least one "superbowl" last year.

Number of AFC East Championships:

MIA- 14
NE- 12
BUF- 10
NYJ- 4

...that is a masterful level of futility for a franchise that has been in the AFC East since its inception in 1960. If the Jets face Curtis Painter every week next season, I'd give em odds at a winning record. Otherwise I predict a 7-9 outcome with Sanchez getting benched by midseason.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I was going to be excited about this coming season, but your brilliant analysis of the Jets has me rethinking everything.

And Quiefenburger, I hope you let the 2001 Pats know how little chance they had at winning anything since they only had 5 AFC East Championships at that point. Since they weren't enormously successful in the past, must have meant that they weren't very good going in the future, right? Was that your point?

the jets are the team to beat in the east. great line, great d, and since they came in second in the division they will be playing the second place AFC division teams while the pats play the AFC's best (if my memory of how the schedule works is correct). as long as sanchez progresses a bit and makes a little better decisions they'll be hard to beat.

He'll probably sign with the Redskins as Daniel Snyder has a knack for signing dicks for way more than they're worth and that way McNabb and Taylor can combine to create a pigskin black hole.
