And Italy invented fascism in 1922 Mussolini said, Right, were all fascists! but, most Italian people are always on scooters going, Ciao

And theyre into football and life and theyre not fascists, you know you say, Were all fascists! Uhhh, all right, ciao No helmet on, nnnnnn.

All those 50s films like Roman Holiday. Its just like that. Everyones just cool and hangs out.

And France hated them all cause, you know, southern France was collaborating with the Germans. Embarrassing. So since then, they've been kind of spiky and kind of...French. And I'm very positive on the French. My family way back was French, so I'm just.. yeah, I go with it, but they are kind of, well, farking French.
"All of Europe, you must do this!"
"Well, we're not gonna. We're... gonna have a sandwich."

I think the French govt crossed the line....germany,russia, and belgium weren't with us in the war(i was against it too) but they didnt stand in our way, or give some of our military secrets to the Iraqis.

But now that we won the war very quick, now france wants a piece of the pie when it comes to rebuilding....

The French remind me of the chick at the bar who is all frisky with whatever guy says she is cute

"So far, reprisals have been largely verbal... Laura Bush snubbed the opening gala of a show celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase, a symbol of ancient Franco-American co-operation."

That's just sad.

Still don't see why they have to be punished for exercising their right to democracy,,,,democracy means saying 'no' sometimes to Uncle Sam, even when you know Uncle Sam will say: ok, then, no more sweeties for you until you do what I want....and in fact I'll take away some of the sweeties you already have....and selective as well. No fan of the French but they have a right same as the Gremans and who ebver to say no. My country wimped out, as usual, but then they cannot afford in anyway to p1ss off the yanks...*sold soul*

2003-05-02 04:12:41 AM
it isnt them practicing democracy that is the problem....it is their lack of any integrity, loyalty or honesty

2003-05-02 04:14:24 AM
congratulations Cubansaltyballs! That's the most unfounded, inflammatory, xenophobic statement I've heard today. You should get a prize.

2003-05-02 04:14:43 AM
those damn frogs said "we're not with the americans at all" basically

But when the contracts come up...they are all friendly and pretending to be our friend...which is shiatty

sorry... i just dont like french people, they are just too shifty and spineless

2003-05-02 04:17:25 AM
Let's face it. France is no longer an ally of the United States.

We should treat them as we did the 1980s Soviet Union.

Jimmy Balls: That's just sad.

I know, but it's a start.

Cubansaltyballs:
I take it you've been to france and lived there and spoken to enough French people to come to this wonderfully generic conclusion. I'm Irish, does that make me a drunken, stupid mick then?

(well, not always drunk *lol*)

2003-05-02 04:20:27 AM
I say, the next time somebody(literally one person) invades france, we should just sit back and say "hey you dont want us imperialst scumbags helping you....do you?"

2003-05-02 04:20:27 AM
Cubansaltyballs:- The french people I know aren't like that at all. How many do you know?

2003-05-02 04:21:47 AM
i maybe mispoke...not the french people... i have met abunch and they are cool....

maybe it is just the way they are represented with their government and how they portray themselves(via their govt)

2003-05-02 04:22:15 AM
LaughingGremlin, France didn't oppose us out of some moral conviction or honest belief that we were wrong.

France opposed us because they didn't want the world to know that they had been arming Saddam against all UN sanctions. They didn't want the world to find out about their participation in the outrageously corrupt "Oil For Food" campaign.

And then they turned over intelligence info to Saddam so he could more effectively kill American troops.

That, my friend, should be considered and act of war, and France needs to understand that. We should be making them as nervous as Syria, Iran and North Korea.

France has gone too farking far.

2003-05-02 04:23:08 AM
Cuban what actions taken by the French government do you oppose other than their objections to this war?

2003-05-02 04:23:30 AM
LaughingGremlin

i am not a racist person...for me to say that about you would be spouting a stereotype that i dont subscribe to

2003-05-02 04:23:35 AM
BTW. Any newspaper that uses the word "refuseniks" in an article doesn't deserve to be read. I don't like what France did, but stupid inflamatory terms like that just reduce any argument to the level idiotic name-calling.

2003-05-02 04:24:37 AM
Who gives a flying fark.. They don't want anything to do with us.. We don't want anything from them.. so we should leave it at that and next time some one rolls through that crap hole for "Lebensraum", I say let them have it and don't ask us for help.

2003-05-02 04:25:23 AM
i just dont like french people, they are just too shifty and spineless
...
i am not a racist person

How's the multiple personality disorder going then?

it was basically thier stance in the UN that no matter what proposal was drafted against iraq, they would oppose it... but germany and russia had some requirements at least to pass a resolution

GEAH I don't know about France, but I do know that the U.S. provided arms to Iraq. We also participated in the "outrageously corrupt" oil-for-food program.

Also, I hope you have some pretty damn good proof before you accuse an ally and fellow NATO member with providing aid to the enemy and participating in the deaths of American soldiers.

In GEAH's defense...dint they find documents about meetins the french people had with saddam???????

2003-05-02 04:31:19 AM
So Cuban, based on a single diplomatic position (one shared by the majority of the world) you have decided that the french people are "shifty and spineless"?

2003-05-02 04:31:22 AM
GEAH:

This is a side of the story I am not familiar with, and I would be interested in reading up on that before I make any comments (french involvement in your statments above)
/historian

My main problem is branding every one French B@st@rds, or German B@st@rds or whatever. I have lived in the states, and know better than to assume all americans are fat morons only interested in burgers and beer ala Jerry Springer or evil fat cats who would screw their mother for a penny, or even the incessant questioning of GW Bush's intellect or lack their of...he is controversial fo sure, and i don't think he will be up for genius status any time soon, but anyway, I can't do anythinhg about that at any rate, except comment. Maybe thats the main frustration, the feeling that no one listens to opinion, be it Tony Blair or Bush or French Govt, people who feel powerless get ticked off and lash out.....

The French remind me of the chick at the bar who is all frisky with whatever guy says she is cute.

Ask any non-american, that phrase is more descriptive of the US in international relations than any other country.

maybe mispoke...not the french people... i have met abunch and they are cool.... maybe it is just the way they are represented with their government and how they portray themselves(via their govt)

... and again.

sorry... i just dont like french people, they are just too shifty and spineless.

You realise you would make a good anti-semite if this statement was only slightly amended. Be ashamed, be very ashamed.

Troll of the thread is so far awarded to you, but the night is yet young.

Well this is a total lie. Keep going, you're doing all the work for us ;)

France has proven decade after decade that they are just totally worthless....

2003-05-02 04:36:53 AM
How about the decade when they helped us win our independence?

2003-05-02 04:38:35 AM
they didnt help us win our independence because they liked us or even cared for us...they did it to piss off britain

2003-05-02 04:38:48 AM
France has proven decade after decade that they are just totally worthless

Right, I'm off. This is obviously a nonsense.
Maybe I was wrong about all yanks not being meatheads afterall.....Don't for get the Yanks dealt arms to plenty of questionable people as well, and trained and helped countries they now dislike. That is called Hypocracy.

/memory lapse

2003-05-02 04:40:00 AM
It can be argued, Cuban that we didn't help liberate France because we cared for them, but because the Germans sunk our ship.

2003-05-02 04:42:05 AM
I think we gave weapons to those countries because we know...and have proved that we can wipe them off the map within weeks, if we so desire.

And if we hadnt armed and trained those people, everybody would say that we wont help our friends, or help people that are being oppressed.

2003-05-02 04:42:17 AM
How the decade that we fought along side them in WWI or WW2? What about the decades during which Henry Wadsworth Longfellow lived? What about the decades in which about the decade when they gave us the statue of liberty? Or some of the first automobiles and moving pictures?

2003-05-02 04:42:51 AM
Yes, Gremlin giving aide to Iraq a while ago, then saying that France is wrong for doing the same now could be constrewed as hypocracy, but if both actions are wrong, at least we went in and fixed it.

Exactly - Germany declared war on you, that's when involvement in the european war couldn't be put off anymore. If Germany was allowed to sit and consolidate their winnings (and finish their rocket and nuclear research) within a decade or so they would have been a serious contender for fighting the US on north american soil.

That couldn't be allowed to happen, and hitting Germany while they were occupying what ... eight other countries, overextended as hell and getting slammed by the Russians, was the best chance you had of swift victory.

I'm sure some revisionist historian will disagree.

2003-05-02 04:45:34 AM
Spoofman_v2.0

I agree with you....I dont think we entered the war to save france. I think we went in there because the germans knocked on our front door.

2003-05-02 04:47:15 AM
I can sum this up pretty easily.

fark Bush. What a farking child. He biatches about freedom and democracy and when someone decides to voice their opinion he flips out like a 4 year old. I guess it really shows what a bunch of dictatorial assholes the current US government are.

I like France. Contributed alot to the world and if Bush thinks he can bully them, well he's an idiot. You ain't beating up on a child here, you moron.
