Although it took a few tries for it to sink in when Snopes reprints the original rumor, they're not confirming it, and you have to use that fancy scroll bar thingy to read their actual decision at the bottom.

One of my Teabagger friends (*sigh* I'm ashamed to admit I have one, but I'm trying to bring her around) kept forwarding me those stupid emails all the time & I'd just send her a link to Snopes. Finally got her to stop by hitting Reply All, so all of her other friends would realize how stupid she was.

This is what happens when people who didn't finish high school try to understand a complex political landscape while being bombarded by right wing propaganda messages.

I've seen a few of these laughable political emails floating around out there, and not one of them would survive if the people on the receiving end were actually educated and informed. But when you wear folksy know-nothingness like a badge of honor, you become an easy mark for manipulation. You get mad and hit the "forward" button because you don't know any better.
